1. Push in the Plunger Release Button and pull the Plunger Knob back until it is

in the fully retracted position.

2. Remove the Front Ring Nut, Attachments, Removable Plunger Cap, Stomper

with Removable Cap, and the Aluminum Tube from the Handle Assembly.

3. Handle Assembly is NOT dishwasher safe. Do not immerse in water.

4. Hand wash removable parts in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry. Brushes are

dishwasher safe.

5. Reassemble and store for the next use.

CARE AND CLEANING

TIPS

• Grind meat twice, using a smaller grinding plate the second time to help with

mixture extruding.

• It is best to season meat mixture, cover and store in refrigerator 4 to 12 hours

before extruding from Jerky Gun.

• Stomper at end is used to push meat mixture into Aluminum Tube and round

end can be inserted into Aluminum Tube to release air bubbles.

• Make sure meat is very cold for easier extruding.

• Always wash your hands, as well as all washable parts of the Jerky Gun, in

warm, soapy water before and after each use.

• Choose a jerky recipe that has a small amount of liquid, and very lean meat.

This helps with even and consistent extruding.

• It is recommended to use food-safe plastic gloves when mixing and adding the

jerky mixture to the Aluminum Tube.

• Carefully ll the Tube with the meat mixture, ensuring there are no air pockets.

Air pockets will cause uneven extruding.

• Do not rush extruding. Hold the Jerky Gun so the attachment is parallel with

the surface you are extruding onto. Slowly squeeze the Trigger to extrude the

mixture for level and uniform jerky pieces.

• Use a at-edged metal spatula at the tip of the attachment to cut off the

mixture when the desired amount has been extruded.

• A rubber spatula is great for removing any remaining meat mixture in the

Tube.

• Use the large Cleaning Brush for cleaning the Tube, and the smaller Cleaning

Brush for cleaning the attachments and releasing food stuck in parts.

FOOD SAFETY TIPS

• For food safety, to help ensure that any bacteria present are destroyed,

choose pretreatment or post-treatment from below:

• Pretreatment of Meat Prior to Dehydrating – Heat oven to 350°F

(177°C). Drain and discard marinade, if used, from meat. Pat dry with paper

towels and place meat in a single layer, leaving a space around each piece

on baking sheet. Bake 5 to 10 minutes or until internal temperature reaches

160°F (72°C). Poultry must reach 165°F (74°C). NOTE: This method may

reduce drying time and may result in a drier texture.

• Post-Treatment of Meat After Dehydrating – Heat oven to 275°F (135°C).

Line a large baking sheet with foil. Place jerky in a single layer, leaving a

small space around each piece. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool completely

on a wire rack. Pat jerky dry with paper towels to remove any surface fats

before storing.

• Marinating meats helps with the avor and texture of jerky. Do not marinate

meat longer than recipe or package directions call for.

TIP: Post-treatment of meat after dehydrating may result in a more desirable

jerky texture. Try each treatment to determine which jerky you like best.

• Visit www.usda.gov for any questions on meat and food safety.

• Never dehydrate meats with fruits and vegetables, due to cross-contamination

of foods. Meats dry at a different temperature from fruits or vegetables.

• All dehydrated foods must be cooled completely before storing.

• For food safety, complete the food drying process. Do not start and stop the

process for longer than 5 minutes. You may pause the process to check on

the food′s dryness or to remove dehydrated pieces.

• Label and date all containers of dried foods.

• Soak parts in warm, soapy water to make removing meat mixture from the

parts easier.

• Ensure Front Ring Nut is properly installed and tightened onto Aluminum Tube

to prevent the Front Ring Nut from loosening or popping off.

1. Thoroughly clean all parts

before use.

2. Align threads of two Plunger

Shaft pieces and turn

clockwise until tight

(Figure 1).

3. Push in the Plunger Release

Button and pull the Plunger

Knob back until it is in the

fully retracted position

(Figure 2).

4. Align threads of the

Aluminum Tube to the open

end of the Handle Assembly,

turn clockwise until secured

in place (Figure 3).

5. Thoroughly mix ground meat

with desired seasoning.

6. With wet hands, form balls

of the ground meat mixture

and drop them into the Tube.

Using the Stomper, press the

mixture rmly into the Tube,

squeezing out any trapped

air. Repeat this step until the

Tube is lled up to 1"

(2.5 cm) from the top

(Figure 4).

8. Place an oven-safe drying rack onto a baking

sheet (not included). NOTE: Using an oven-

safe drying rack will decrease the drying time

of the jerky/snack sticks, by allowing the hot

air from your oven to circulate freely through

the racks.

9. With the Attachment close to the far end of

the drying rack, slowly squeeze the Trigger

to start the Handle Assembly to push the

meat forward and out of the Jerky Tube. Pull

the Trigger repeatedly, until the jerky begins

to extrude and desired length is reached

(Figures 6 & 7).

*Snack sticks or sausages can be extruded

into casings. Stuff the casing to a length of

about 24" (61 cm), then tie knots in the open

ends of the casings. Pinch the casing in the

middle and twist to form two links about 12"

(30.5 cm) each.

NOTE: Be sure to leave about 1/2" (1.3 cm)

between the strips for even and consistent

drying.

purchaser or gift recipient and is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt,

as proof of purchase is required to make a warranty claim. This warranty is void

if the product is subjected to any voltage and waveform other than as specified

on the rating label (e.g., 120V ~ 60 Hz).

We exclude all claims for special, incidental and consequential damages caused

by breach of express or implied warranty. All liability is limited to the amount

of the purchase price. Every implied warranty, including any statutory

warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose,

is disclaimed except to the extent prohibited by law, in which case such

warranty or condition is limited to the duration of this written warranty.

that vary depending on where you live. Some states or provinces do not

allow limitations on implied warranties or special, incidental, or consequential
