This document refers to the Smeg accessory “CSK1215FLEX”.

The accessory can only be installed and used on Smeg devices.

In order for the accessory to be used properly and safely, this manual must be used in conjunction with the manual of

the instrument washer in which it is installed.

Failure to read, understand or correctly interpret the instructions contained in this manual may cause damage to the

appliance, and as well as being a source of danger for the operator, this may considerably reduce the performance of

the machine.

The manufacturer declines all liability for uses other than those indicated in this manual.

Installation, maintenance and repairs must only be carried out by personnel authorised by the

manufacturer.

The guarantee may become void if the device is used in a way other than that indicated by the

manufacturer.

1DESCRIPTION

The “CSK1215FLEX” is a washing trolley designed to wash and thermally disinfect surgical instruments and

accessories of various shapes and sizes. It can be used exclusively with Smeg “WD” – washer disinfectors for

hospital use.

This device has been designed to house “DIN” baskets: such as the SMEG “CSKDIN” basket (CSKDIN basket

width x depth: 240 x 480 mm).

The racks can be removed, providing considerable versatility and adaptability for numerous applications.

The baskets are not included with the accessory, they must be purchased separately: please contact your

dealer for details and offers.

The product consists of:

•1 fixed rack (made of stainless steel

wire, welded to the supporting

structure), fitted with a rotating

spray arm that can be removed for

inspection and cleaning.

•2 removable racks with spray arm

•2 rotary guillotine type outlets for

spray arm conduits

•3 water outlets for other

accessories

•1 pressure outlet for additional

testing devices

5.1 Preparation for use

•Unpack the accessory.

•Remove sprayer locking plastic pies.

•Remove if present, cable ties or tapes from channels, sprayers or others.

•Place the trolley in the washing chamber.

•Carry out a preliminary cycle before using the machine, with the machine empty. Carry out a full thermal

disinfection cycle.

•Before processing surgical instruments, always consult the instrument manufacturer’s instructions to make

sure they can be treated using automatic thermal disinfection cycles and that they can withstand the

specified wash cycle temperatures.

•To prevent the dirt from drying on the instruments: allow as little time possible to elapse between the

instruments being used and them being washed in the machine.

•Please note: the trolley is fitted with a manifold for distributing the wash water to the various racks. When

looking at the machine from the front, loading side (“dirty” side), the manifold must be on the right hand

side of the chamber.

•When inserting and removing the trolley from the washing chamber, always be careful not to subject the

product to excessive force: slide the trolley along the guides provided avoiding impact and positioning it

correctly so that the water manifold is aligned with the connections in the chamber.

5.2 Using the accessory / positioning the instruments

The surgical instruments to be processed must be placed carefully in the instrument baskets.

The baskets must be placed inside the washing trolley making use of the racks available.

Procedure

Place the instruments in the baskets so they do not

protrude from the top.

The items to be treated must not be placed on top of

one another.

Surgical instruments with joints must be open so that

even the difficult to reach parts can be properly

cleaned.

Procedure

Make sure that the water outlets are closed when not

in use.

Open the water outlets in order to insert the conduits.

Insert and remove the racks by removing them from

the supports at the side.

Lift the rack and slide it to release it from the side

outlet of the manifold

Test outlet (M8 x 1.25).

6MAINTENANCE

To keep the product in good working order we recommend that you clean it periodically. To do this, completely

disassemble the sprayers and their ends according to the procedures indicated.

BEFORE carrying out cleaning and maintenance it is recommended that you carry out a full thermal

disinfection cycle with the machine empty (with no load inside the chamber).

Disconnect the power supply using the appropriate isolator switch and turn off the water supply tap.

Always wear personal protective equipment when carrying out cleaning and maintenance.

CLEARANCE: In order to carry out work on the machine there must be a clearance of approximately 1m2

in front of the machine.

CAUTION

The spray arms may retain biologically contaminated substances. They must be handled with care and

using protective equipment (e.g. gloves, goggles, overalls).

Recommended cleaning interval, considering a normal use of 3-5 cycles / day: once every 10 days.

Procedure

Completely remove the sprayers for cleaning:

- The central pins can be removed: simply unscrew

them from the support. Once the central pin has been

unscrewed, the sprayer can be removed from the rack

for cleaning.

- The ends of the spray arms can be removed for

inspection and cleaning.
