WARNING

and inspected according to the basic safety
requirements of EC Guide ines and state-of-
the-art techno ogy.
•The instrument is designed for use in grounded
vehic es and machines as we as in p easure
boats, inc uding non-c assified commercia
shipping.
•Use our product on y as intended. Use of the
product for reasons other than its intended use
may ead to persona injury, property damage
or environmenta damage. Before insta ation,
check the vehic e documentation for vehic e
type and any possib e specia features!
•Use the assemb y p an to earn the ocation of
the fue /hydrau ic/compressed air and
e ectrica ines!
•Note possib e modifications to the vehic e,
which must be considered during insta ation!
•To prevent persona injury, property damage or
environmenta damage, basic know edge of
motor vehic e/shipbui ding e ectronics and
mechanics is required.
•Make sure that the engine cannot start
unintentiona y during insta ation!
•Modifications or manipu ations to Veratron
products can affect safety. Consequent y, you
may not modify or manipu ate the product!
•When removing/insta ing seats, covers, etc.,
ensure that ines are not damaged and p ug-in
connections are not oosened!
•Note a data from other insta ed instruments
with vo ati e e ectronic memories.
SAFETY DURING INSTALLATION
•During insta ation, ensure that the product’s
components do not affect or imit vehic e
functions. Avoid damaging these components!
•On y insta undamaged parts in a vehic e!
•During insta ation, ensure that the product
does not impair the fie d of vision and that it
cannot impact the driver’s or passenger’s head!
•A specia ized technician shou d insta the
product. If you insta the product yourse f,
wear appropriate work c othing. Do not wear
oose c othing, as it may get caught in moving
parts. Protect ong hair with a hair net.
•When working on the on-board e ectronics, do
not wear meta ic or conductive jewe ry such as
neck aces, brace ets, rings, etc.
•If work on a running engine is required, exercise
extreme caution. Wear on y appropriate work
c othing as you are at risk of persona injury,
resu ting from being crushed or burned.
•Before beginning, disconnect the negative
termina on the battery, otherwise you risk a
short circuit. If the vehic e is supp ied by
auxi iary batteries, you must a so disconnect
the negative termina s on these batteries!
Short circuits can cause fires, battery
exp osions and damages to other e ectronic
systems. P ease note that when you disconnect
the battery, a vo ati e e ectronic memories
ose their input va ues and must be
reprogrammed.
•If working on gaso ine boat motors, et the
motor compartment fan run before beginning
work.
•Pay attention to how ines and cab e harnesses
are aid so that you do not dri or saw through
them!
•Do not insta the product in the mechanica
and e ectrica airbag area!
•Do not dri ho es or ports in oad-bearing or
stabi izing stays or tie bars!
•When working underneath the vehic e, secure
it according to the specifications from the
vehic e manufacturer.
•Note the necessary c earance behind the dri
ho e or port at the insta ation ocation.
Required mounting depth: 65 mm.
•Dri sma ports; en arge and comp ete them, if
necessary, using taper mi ing too s, saber saws,

keyho e saws or fi es. Deburr edges. Fo ow the
safety instructions of the too manufacturer.
•Use on y insu ated too s, if work is necessary on
ive parts.
•Use on y the mu timeter or diode test amps
provided, to measure vo tages and currents in
the vehic e/machine or boat. Use of
conventiona test amps can cause damage to
contro units or other e ectronic systems.
•The e ectrica indicator outputs and cab es
connected to them must be protected from
direct contact and damage. The cab es in use
must have enough insu ation and e ectric
strength and the contact points must be safe
from touch.
•Use appropriate measures to a so protect the
e ectrica y conductive parts on the connected
consumer from direct contact. Laying meta ic,
uninsu ated cab es and contacts is prohibited.
SAFETY AFTER INSTALLATION
•Connect the ground cab e tight y to the
negative termina of the battery.
•Reenter/reprogram the vo ati e e ectronic
memory va ues.
•Check a functions.
•Use on y c ean water to c ean the components.
Note the Ingress Protection (IP) ratings (IEC
60529).
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
•Note cab e cross-sectiona area!
•Reducing the cab e cross-sectiona area eads
to higher current density, which can cause the
cab e cross-sectiona area in question to heat
up!
•When insta ing e ectrica cab es, use the
provided cab e ducts and harnesses; however,
do not run cab es para e to ignition cab es or
to cab es that ead to arge e ectricity
consumers.
•Fasten cab es with cab e ties or adhesive tape.
Do not run cab es over moving parts. Do not
attach cab es to the steering co umn!
•Ensure that cab es are not subject to tensi e,
compressive or shearing forces.
•If cab es are run through dri ho es, protect
them using rubber s eeves or the ike.
•Use on y one cab e stripper to strip the cab e.
Adjust the stripper so that stranded wires are
not damaged or separated.
•Use on y a soft so dering process or
commercia y avai ab e crimp connector to
so der new cab e connections!
•Make crimp connections with cab e crimping
p iers on y. Fo ow the safety instructions of the
too manufacturer.
•Insu ate exposed stranded wires to prevent
short circuits.
•Caution: Risk of short circuit if junctions are
fau ty or cab es are damaged.
•Short circuits in the vehic e network can cause
fires, battery exp osions and damages to other
e ectronic systems. Consequent y, a power
supp y cab e connections must be provided
with we dab e connectors and be sufficient y
insu ated.
•Ensure ground connections are sound.
•Fau ty connections can cause short circuits.
On y connect cab es according to the e ectrica
wiring diagram.
•If operating the instrument on power supp y
units, note that the power supp y unit must be
stabi ized and it must comp y with the fo owing
standard: DIN EN 61000, Parts 6-1 to 6-4.

WARNING
Before beginning, disconnect the negative termina on the battery, otherwise you risk a short
circuit.
If the vehic e is supp ied by auxi iary batteries, you must a so disconnect the negative termina s on these
batteries! Short circuits can cause fires, battery exp osions and damages to other e ectronic systems.
P ease note that when you disconnect the battery, a vo ati e e ectronic memories ose their input va ues
and must be reprogrammed.
BEFORE THE ASSEMBLY
1.
Before beginning, turn off the ignition and
remove the ignition key. If necessary, remove
the main circuit switch
2. Disconnect the negative termina on the
battery. Make sure the battery cannot
unintentiona y restart.
3. P ace the device at east 300 mm away from any
magnetic compass.

INSTALLATION WITH SPINLOCK
Conventiona assemb y. (Instrument is put into the dri ho e from the front).
The pane thickness may be within a range of 2 to 18 mm.
The dri ho e must have a diameter of 81 to 86 mm.

•Do not dri ho es or ports in oad-bearing or stabi izing stays or tie bars!
•Note the necessary c earance behind the dri ho e or port at the insta ation ocation. Required
mounting depth: 65 mm.
•Dri sma ports; en arge and comp ete them, if necessary, using taper mi ing too s, saber saws, keyho e
saws or fi es. Deburr edges. Fo ow the safety instructions of the too manufacturer.
1. Create a circu ar ho e in the pane considering the
device dimensions.
2. Remove the spin ock and insert the device from
the front.
3. For 85 mm instruments, the fastening nut can be
mounted at position A or B. This a ows you to fix
the gauge in different pane bores.
Version A
Pane bore 80.5 – 81 mm
Version B
Pane bore 85.5 – 86 mm
4. A ign the instrument and hand-tighten the
fastening nut. Ensure that the nut is not tightened
with a torque greater than 4 Nm.
5. Make sure the sea ays f at between the pane and
the front ring.

FLUSH MOUNTING
The recommended pane thickness is 1.5 to 3 mm.
The dri ho e must have a diameter of 75.4 mm.
Ensure that the insta ation ocation is eve and has no sharp edges.

•Do not dri ho es or ports in oad-bearing or stabi izing stays or tie bars!
•Note the necessary c earance behind the dri ho e or port at the insta ation ocation. Required
mounting depth: 65 mm.
•Dri sma ports; en arge and comp ete them, if necessary, using taper mi ing too s, saber saws,
keyho e saws or fi es. Deburr edges. Fo ow the safety instructions of the too manufacturer.
1. Gent y remove the beze using a screwdriver.
Note: the beze cannot be used after remova
since it might be damaged.
2. Create a circu ar ho e in the pane considering the
device dimensions.
3. P ace the f ush mount sea A2C53215641 (not
inc uded) on the instrument g ass.
4. Put the instrument into the dri ho e from the
back.
5. Adjust the instrument so that the gauge is eve
and fasten it to the stud bo ts on the rear side of
the pane , using the f ush mount fixing bracket
A2C59510864 (not inc uded).

INSTALLATION WITH BRACKETS
Conventiona assemb y. (Instrument is put into the dri ho e from the front).
The pane width may be within a range of 2 to 13 mm.
The dri ho e must have a diameter of 81 mm.

•Note the necessary c earance behind the dri ho e or port at the insta ation ocation. Required
mounting depth: 65 mm.
•Dri sma ports; en arge and comp ete them, if necessary, using taper mi ing too s, saber saws,
keyho e saws or fi es. Deburr edges. Fo ow the safety instructions of the too manufacturer.
1. Create a circu ar ho e in the pane considering the
device dimensions.
2. Remove the spin ock and insert the device from
the front.
3. Screw the stud bo ts into the provided dri ho es
in the enc osure.
Max. stud bo t torque is 1.5 Nm.
4. P ace the bracket on the stud bo t and hand-
tighten the knur ed nut.
5. Make sure the sea ays f at between the pane
and the front ring.

chapter of this document!
Depending on the configuration, insert the cab e into the 8-pin and 14-pin contact enc osure according to
the fo owing pin assignment.
The contacts must audib y ock into p ace.
Now insert the p ug into the gauge.
Note the inverse po arity protection nose in the process.
