1. INSTRUMENT CARE

Do not attempt to remove the mesh cover from the microphone as this will

cause damage and affect the accuracy of the instrument.

Protect the instrument from impact. Do not drop it or subject it to rough handling.

Transport it in the supplied carrying case.

Protect the instrument from water, dust, extreme temperatures, high humidity

and direct sunlight during storage and use.

Protect the instrument from air with high salt or sulphur content, gases and

stored chemicals, as this may damage the delicate microphone and sensitive

electronics.

Always turn the instrument off after use. Remove the batteries from the

instrument if it is not to be used for a long time. Do not leave exhausted

batteries in the instrument, as they may leak and cause damage.

Clean the instrument only by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth or, when necessary,

with a cloth lightly moistened with water. Do not use any solvents, alcohol or

cleaning agents.

2. FEATURES

The Sound Level Meter complies with the requirements of IEC 61672-1: 2013

standard for a Class 2 instrument.

The instrument contains several features which permit sound level

measurements under a variety of conditions.

Both AC and DC signal outputs are available from a single standard 3.5mm

analyzer, graphic recorder, etc.

Display LCD

4 digit numerical indication of sound level, from 30.0 to 130.0dB with 0.1dB

resolution.

Bar-graph indication of current sound level with 2dB resolution.

Sound level range indicator: 30 – 90dB, 45 – 110dB or 65 –130dB in 3 ranges.

•Display update rate: 0.5 second

•Display first indication: Depends on the condition the instrument when it was

last turned off.

•Warning indications:

Out-of-range indications: OVER displayed at upper limit of the range

UNDER displayed at lower limit of the range

4. CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS

1. Microphone:

Electret Condenser microphone

2. Display: The LCD shows the sound level as a numeric value and a bar graph.

The display also shows the operation mode of the instrument, the

selected measurement parameters and warning indications.

Power key: Press key to turn on the meter.

Press key for 3 seconds to turn off the meter.

4. key:

TIME key: Press this key to switch the minute:second (m:s), day-hour (d-h)

and Year÷Month (Y÷M) display.

LOG key: Press this key for 3 seconds to enter or exit the auto datalogging

mode.



: In the setting mode, press this key to move cursor to the desired position.

5. key: Sets the time weighting to FAST (F), SLOW (S) or Impulse (I).

FAST: Uses a 125ms time-constant. This setting is used in most situations.

SLOW: Uses a 1s time constant, which smoothes out fluctuating levels.

Impulse: Uses a 35ms time constant. Which was traditionallyused to displayan

impulsive type noise, allowing the maximum levels to be more easily

seen on a changing display.

6. key: Sets the frequency weighting to A,C or Z.

7. key:

LEVEL key: Level range key: Select the level range for the measurement.

The following 3 settings are available: 30 to 90dB, 45 to 110dB,

65 to 130dB.

▲key: In the setting mode, press this key to change the parameter.

8. key:

MAX key: Used for reading the Maximum (MaxL blinking display), Minimum

(MinL blinking display) and Current (MaxL and MinL are blinking

display) time-weighted sound level encountered during a

measurement and it’s occurred date and time.

MAX measurement:

a. Press MAX key to enter the maximum recording mode, the “MaxL” mark

is blinking displayed.

b. Press ▲key to circulate the display of the Maximum (MaxL), Minimum

(MinL) and Current (MaxL MinL) reading and its occurred date and time.

Press TIME key to switch display the date and time m:s, d-h and Y÷M.

c. Press MAX again to restart the maximum recording mode.

d. Press MAX key for 3 seconds to exit this mode.

PEAK key: The maximum level in dB reached by the sound pressure at any

instant during a measurement period. It is the true peak level of the

pressure wave, which should not be confused with the highest

sound pressure level, termed MaxL.

Sets the Peak frequency weighting and measurement:

a. Press and hold down PEAK key then Press key to turn on the meter,

until the “ ” mark is displayed.

b. Press key to sets the desired peak frequencyweighting A, C or Z.

c. Press ↵key to exit and the “ ” mark is displayed.

d. Press PEAK key again to restart the peak measurement.

PEAK and Maximum recording measurement:

a. In the peak measurement mode, press MAX key to enter the maximum

recording mode.

b. Press ▲key to circulate the display of the Maximum (MaxL blinking),

Minimum (MinL blinking), Current (MaxL and MinL blinking) and Peak

(dBPK blinking) reading and its occurred date and time. Press TIME key

to switch display the occurred date and time m:s, d-h and Y÷M.

c. Press MAX again to restart the peak and maximum recording mode.

d. Press MAX key for 3 seconds to exit this mode.

↵key: In the setting mode, press this key to store the setting data and exit.

9. CAL potentiometer: Calibration potentiometer for level adjustment.

AC output signal with frequency weighting.

: No-cycle timer datalogging mode indication.



: Auto-cycle timer datalogging mode indication.

: No-cycle timer datalogging stop indication.

A: Datalogging mode indication.

M: Disappeared or appeared one time store one sets data into the memory.

FULL: Data records full indication.

÷ Y÷M: Year÷Month indication.

-d-h: Day-Hour indication.

: m:s: Minute:second indication.

: Battery capacity indication.

: Sound level range indication.

: Bar graph shows the current sound level (2dB resolution) indication.

UNDER: Under - range indication.

OVER: Over - range indication.

: A, C or Z frequency weighted PEAK sound level indication.

FSI: Fast, Slow or Impulse time weighting indication.

MaxL: Maximum time-weighted sound level reading indication. (blink displayed)

MinL: Minimum time-weighted sound level reading indication. (blink displayed)

dB: Sound level reading (0.1dB resolution) indication.

ACZ: A, C or Z frequency weighting indication.
