General safety instructions
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of
the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not
be made by children without supervision.
• The lawnmower should only be used as described in theinstruction manual.
• Remember that it is theuser who is ultimately responsible for any accidents or
hazards that cause possible injury to others and to property.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer,
its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• The lawnmower should be connected to amains outlet protected by a30 mA RCD.
• Never use thelawnmower when you are tired, sick, under theinfluence of alcohol
or medicine.
Pre-work safety precautions
• Read theentire instruction manual carefully.
• Never let children or others use thelawnmower without having read theinstruction
manual. Checkfor any local regulations that may stipulate aminimum operating age.
• Never use thelawnmower in thepresence of bystanders, especially children or
animals.
• Always use appropriately designed footwear and long trousers. Neveruse
thelawnmower while barefoot or wearing open-toed sandals.
• Never wear loose-fitting clothing or clothes which have any loose hanging straps,
bands, etc.
• Always inspect thearea to be cut before mowing. Removeany objects from
themowing area that can be thrown by themower.
• Make sure that themower is completely assembled and that all parts are whole
and functioning normally before commencing work.
• Check that all cables are whole and undamaged. Checkthecondition of thefixed
mains cable leading from themains socket to themotor is whole and undamaged.
• Never use themower if any of its cables or connections is damaged.
• Make sure that all screws and bolts are properly tightened and that all safety
devices are in place before commencing work.
