2.1 Overview
2.2 Description
With the model 3 test gauge described below, the wetted parts
(process connection and pressure element) are made of stainless steel,
copper alloy or Ni-Fe alloy. The nominal size (NS) of 160 mm [6"] or
250 mm [10"] stated is a rounded value referred to the case diameter.
Case designs in accordance with EN 837
Version “S1”, not shown here, is equipped with a blow-out device in
the case back.
Safety version “S3”, shown above, is equipped with a solid bae
wall between the measuring system and the dial and with a blow-out
back. In the event of a failure, the operator is protected at the front
side, as media or components can only be ejected via the back of
the case.
2.3 Scope of delivery

3. Safety
3.1 Intended use
The instruments described here are suitable:
Models 312.20, 311.11, 342.11: For gaseous and liquid media
that are not highly viscous or crystallising and will not attack
copper alloy or NiFe alloy parts
Models 331.11, 332.1, 33x.30, 33x.50: For gaseous and liquid
aggressive media that are not highly viscous or crystallising, also
in aggressive environments
Models 333.30, 333.50: For high dynamic pressure loads and
vibrations (with case liquid lling)
For pressure measurement with high accuracy
As pressure reference for checking industrial type pressure
gauges
For precision measurement in laboratories
Model 332.11: For mobile precision measurement under particular
safety
Regulations for pressure equipment
Instrument type: Pressure accessory without safety function
Media: Liquid or gaseous, group 1 (hazardous)
Maximum allowable pressure PS, see chapter 3.5 “Labelling /
Safety marking”
Volume of wetted parts: < 0.1 L
The conformity marking CE, UKCA is carried out in accordance
with uid group 1 in accordance with Annex II, Diagram 1 from a
permissible operating pressure > 200 bar
The instrument must only be used with media which are not harmful
to the wetted parts over the entire range of use of the instrument.
A change in the aggregate state or the decomposition of unstable
media is not permitted.
Only use the instrument in applications that lie within its technical
performance limits (e.g. max. ambient temperature, material
compatibility, ...).

→ For performance limits, see chapter 9 “Specications”.
In order to achieve an optimal service life of the instru-
ment, it is recommended to load the instrument between
1/3 x PS and 2/3 x PS. See technical information
IN 00.05.
This instrument is not permitted to be used in hazardous areas!
The instrument has been designed and built solely for the intended
use described here, and may only be used accordingly.
The technical specications contained in these operating instructions
and the limit values in accordance with EN 837-1 must be observed.
Improper handling or operation of the instrument outside of its techni-
cal specications and the limit values in accordance with EN 837-1
requires the instrument to be taken out of service immediately and
inspected by an authorised WIKA service engineer.
With instruments which do not correspond to the safety version “S3”,
highly pressurised media might leak out through the possibly burst-
ing window in case of a component failure.
The manufacturer shall not be liable for claims of any type based on
operation contrary to the intended use.
3.2 Improper use
Do not use the instrument within hazardous areas.
Do not use this instrument with abrasive, corrosive and highly
viscous media.
Any use beyond or dierent to the intended use is considered as
improper use.
Unauthorised modications to the instrument are not permissible.
Do not use this instrument in safety or emergency shutdown
devices.

3.3 Responsibility of the operator
The instrument is used in the industrial sector. The operator is there-
fore responsible for legal obligations regarding safety at work.
The safety instructions within these operating instructions, as well as
the safety, accident prevention and environmental protection regula-
tions for the application area must be maintained.
The operator is obliged to maintain the product label in a legible
condition.
To ensure safe working on the instrument, the operating company
must ensure
that the instrument is suitable for the particular application in
accordance with its intended use.
that the requisite personal protective equipment is provided.
On the wetted parts of the instrument, small residual
amounts of the adjustment medium (e.g. compressed
air, water, oil) can adhere from production. With
increased requirements for technical cleanliness, suita-
bility for the application must be checked by the operator
before commissioning.
Liquid media with the property of changing the volume
during solidication can damage the measuring system
(e.g. B. water if the freezing point falls below).
