Easy, quick and safe
Today, even “simple” jobs often require electronic aids.
The EOBD Hand Scanner ContiSys OBD lends itself to
just these cases.
Range of functions
A number of other important functions can be carried
out in addition to EOBD engine troubleshooting. These
include resetting the service interval indicators (incl.
Condition Based Service, CBS), activating electronic
parking brakes, and checking ABS and SRS (airbags
and pretensioners) as well as air conditioning.
Today’s standards require modern vehicles be equipped with more than one electronic control unit. Engine con-
trols have been joined by safety, body control systems, chassis controls, and often more. If a problem arises, only
first-class testing technology programmed with up-to-date, userfriendly diagnostic software can help.
Computer-aided high performance
In order to fully respond to service demands, often even
more powerful diagnostic solutions are needed. This
is exactly where ContiSys VCI comes in, whether it is
to augment ContiSys OBD or as a solution that will
stand alone in the workshop. In addition to well-known
ContiSys OBD functions, a broad range of other tests
can be carried out by using the simple and intuitive
computer software ContiSys DSI together with
ContiSys OBD. Windows™ software compatible, it runs
on all current computers. The vehicle interface com-
municates via a modern, secure WLAN port with any
workshop PC.
Rugged hardware for the daily grind
VDO offers a sturdy solution in order to meet the tough
challenges of the workshop: the ContiSys PAD tablet
PC. A computer specially developed for tough work-
shop environments, it takes the most difficult condi-
tions in stride.

Compact, high-performance and always up-to-date:
The OBD scanner with a plus.
A compact troubleshooting device must enable me-
chanics to make quick EOBD control unit diagnoses
for many cars. ContiSys OBD offers far more than that:
It supports many service and test functions (not limit-
ed to EOBD vehicles) that professionals regularly need
in the workshop daily. Systems such as ABS, SRS
(airbags and pretensioners), electronic parking brakes
(EPB) or air conditioning can be checked simply and
quickly. And it goes without saying that resetting service
interval indicators and correct adjustment of steering
angle sensors are part of its repertoire.
ContiSys OBD has a self-explanatory, easy-to-use
menu structure. The function keys are large and clear.
Understandable symbols make navigation through
user menus simple. And if the need ever arises, an in-
tegrated help system and accompanying CD-ROM
handbook can quickly provide the required know-how.
But ContiSys OBD can do even more
To meet the range of rapidly changing service de-
mands, VDO offers a Software Update Service: With
an annual subscription to ContiSys Update Plus it is
a mouse click away to ensure the test unit and its ad-
vantageous features remain up-to-date.
But there is no obligation to subscribe to this service.
The user can decide how current the function range of
the testing unit should be.

ContiSys VCI
ContiSys VCI is the high-performance diagnostic
solution for your workshop
Displays and deletes error memory, tests and activates
components, brings up technical information or quickly
checks the parts catalogue. ContiSys VCI offers you all
this and more. And it remains as up-to-date as de-
sired. Just opt for the internet software updating ser-
vice ContiSys Update Plus.
Immediately after ContiSys DSI has been installed,
the diagnostic system is ready to run
Simply connect the vehicle interface (VCI) via the EOBD
port or, if necessary, use vehicle specific adapter cable
sets that are available as an option. Data transfer be-
tween the vehicle interface and the workshop PC
takes place via a modern WLAN port.
ContiSys VCI comes in a carrying case with all the
components needed to get it up and running immedi-
ately.

A control center system: The diagnostic software.
ContiSys DSI
ContiSys DSI diagnostic software is the heart of the
multi-brand diagnostic system ContiSys VCI. Among
other things this is where the choice of vehicle, identi-
fication of vehicle systems, the activation of compo-
nents and the recording of data takes place. The user
can get help for repair problems and branch into other
software modules (e.g. catalogues). Despite the diver-
sity of functions, the software is self-explanatory and
can be used without any special training.
And if you still need help now and then, the hotline is
always there to help you.

And with ContiSys Update Plus, Software Update
Services are available for the ContiSys VCI diagnostic
system just as they are with the Hand Scanner
ContiSys OBD. And the first two years of software
updates are included in the sale price of ContiSys VCI
diagnostic system. As soon as they become available,
the updates are immediately made ready for download
to guarantee the greatest degree of flexibility and safety.
Starting in the third year, the Software Update Service
can be booked as an option. Subscription activation
takes place simply and securely via the internet. And if
the user do not want to update the software after the
two years, the use of earlier ContiSys DSI software
versions can continue without limitations or problems.
