1. Introduction
The PLANET ICA-HM240 with built-in high performance 1.3Mega-Pixel CMOS sensor delivers
high quality image at maximum 1280x1024 resolution. The ICA-HM240 is also a Dome IP camera
with vandal-proof case. The vandal-proof designs with die-cast aluminum body can prevent the
artificial destroy. It provides the best solution for installation in harshest conditions and maintains
reliable operation in indoor environment.
The ICA-HM240 integrates the H.264 compression technology so it can compress the video file
size to smaller one for users being able to transfer the Mega-Pixel images on the Internet easily.
The IP camera features multi-profile function and can generate H.264 / MPEG-4 and M-JPEG
streaming to different users at the same time. It allows up to 20 users to access the ICA-HM240
surveillance simultaneously. With this state-of-the-art design, the iCA-HM240 is considerable to fit
in various network environments.
High-speed motorized structure offers a wide pan range of 355 degrees and tilt range of 100
degrees to be controlled over TCP/IP networks. 180 degree/sec pan speed and 120 degree/sec tilt
speed drive the camera move to the preset point faster than normal-speed P/T IP cameras.
Supports Store-to-NAS function, the ICA-HM240 can work alone and save the video file to a NAS
directly, which saves the PC resource and keep monitoring the environment with motion detection
at 24/7. The ICA-HM240 takes surveillance using 2-Way audio. The administrator can speak to
anyone at ICA-HM240 remote site with a speaker added. Moreover, compliant with IEEE 802.3af
PoE interface, the ICA-HM240 can be located in places where there are no power outlets.
The ICA-HM240 can be managed by PLANET Cam Viewer Plus, the professional management
software for multi-camera video surveillance application, to provide monitoring, recording and
event management functions. The Cam Viewer Plus enables you to setup a comprehensive and
effective surveillance system quickly and easily. With the ICA-HM240 managed by the Cam
Viewer Plus, it provides a real professional security environment to protect your property and life.

2. Basic Setup
This chapter provides details of installing and configuring the IP camera.
2.1 System Requirement
The IP camera can be monitoring on all of Windows operating system that suggest with system
requirment below in order to got better video performance.
NOTE: 1. The listed information is minimum system requirements only. Actual requirement
will vary depending on the nature of your environment.
2. The ICA-HM240 can be managed by PLANET Cam Viewer Plus Lite/Pro if you
want to configure more detail information and settings of camera viewer plus
software please refer to the CD-ROM folder “D:\Manual\Cam Viewer Plus\”,
assume D is your CD-ROM drive.

System Hardware · CPU: Pentium 4, 3.0GHz or above
· Memory Size : 512 MB (512 MB above Recommended )
· VGA card resolution : 1024 x 768 or above
· VGA card memory : 64 MB or above
·Network bandwidth: In D1 resolution mode, minimum upload
bandwidth is 1.5 ~ 2Mbps.

2.2 Physical Description
2.2.1 Terminal Connections
Front View
1. RJ-45 LAN
Socket The LAN socket is a RJ-45 connector for connections to 10/100Base-TX
Fast Ethernet cabling. This Ethernet port built N-Way protocol can detect
or negotiate the transmission speed of the network automatically. Please
use CAT-5 cable to connect the IP camera to a 100Mbps Fast Ethernet
network switch or hub.
Power LED: (Orange)
This LED is used to indicate whether DC power is on or not.
LAN LED: (Green)
This LED will be flashing while network accessing via Ethernet.
2. Power Jack The input power is DC 12V.
NOTE:
ONLY use package power adapter supplied with the internet. Otherwise,
the product may be damaged.
3. Reset Button This button is used to restore the all factory default settings. Sometimes
restarting the device will make the system back to a normal state.
However, if the system still got problems after restart, user can restore the
factory default settings and install it again.
Restore the device:
a. Insert the paper clip or other tool and press and hold the
button down continuously.
Hold it at least 8 seconds and release the tool. Then the device has been
restored to default settings and reboot again.
