Safety
WARNING: Allow only qualified personnel to
perform the procedures described in this
manual.
WARNING: The system must be properly
grounded and fused according to its rated
consumption. Refer to the ID plate on the
bottom of the control unit.
WARNING: Turn off the system power switch
and disconnect the power cord from the power
source before disassembling the unit for service.

Photo Trigger
STrigger must be set to activate during bead
detection process.
STrigger must be set to activate on the next product
AFTER the last bead passes under the bead
sensor.
SInstallation must not provide more than one trigger
signal per product.
General Information
SBead detection mode only −sensor must look at
exposed glue bead.
SMaintain constant line speed, or minimize speed
changes.

Installation
1. Inventory and inspect the system components.
2. Mount the control unit next to or on the packaging
machine.
3. Mount the bead sensors.
SNo closer than 10 mm (0.4 in.) to the substrate
SNo farther than 50 mm (2 in.) from the
substrate
SSet the target area to be viewed between
12 to 18 mm (0.5 to 0.65 in.).
SPosition the angle of the bead sensor at no
more than 30 degrees from perpendicular.

4. Mount the trigger. The trigger must:
Sdetect the product before the first bead sensor
detects the first bead
Snot detect the next product before the last
bead sensor finishes detecting the last bead,
and
Snot trigger more than once on the same
product
5. Connect the bead sensor(s) and photo trigger(s) to
the control unit.

6. Open the control unit cabinet and connect the

Programming
Initial Settings
1. Configure the fault output relay for the type of
contact action required.
SPosition 1 (Down) = Normally Open
SPosition 2 (Up) = Normally Closed
2. Select the number of photo triggers installed with
DIP-Switch Position 4.
SON = 1 photo trigger
SOFF = 2 photo triggers
SBead sensors 1-4 on trigger 1
SBead sensors 1 and 2 on trigger 1
SBead sensors 3 and 4 on trigger 2
