BVM 48 Overview

voltage.

Effective, easy-to-install, light-capacityvoltage monitoring

This small RTUwas designed to do one thing: Monitor your battery cell voltages for ultimate visibility

over your power supplies. The BVM48 monitors up to 24 cells and reports threshold alarms via SNMP.

In addition to these threshold alarms, the BVMalso sends notifications should a battery cell fall out of its

normal (average) range by more than a desired percentage. Your SNMP manager issues periodic GET

requests against specific cells, and offers both instant readings and trending to track battery voltages

over time.

Reports threshold events on a threshold basis to your SNMP manager

Built-in web browser for batterymonitoring via a PC on the network

Veryaccurate readings over a small voltage range

Provides instantaneous readings and historical trending

Alternate config:Report cell voltages through a BVM’s analogs via serial port

The BVM48 can report alarms to any SNMP manager and/or to the DPS Telecom T/Mon NOC Remote

Alarm Monitoring System.

Ultra-fast Web Browser

The integrated web interface, modeled after the overhauled web interface for the NetGuardian 216 G3,

boasts several time-saving new tools. Menus load very quickly, and the alarm status updates

automatically without requiring a page refresh.

The compact BVM48 occupies only half the width of a standard rack unit. Only one rack ear is supplied

with the BVM48, and the rack ear can be mounted on the left or right side of the unit. The BVM48

mounts in a 19" or 23" rack, and can be mounted on the right or left, in the flush-mount or rear mount

locations, as shown in Fig. 4.1.

The rack ears can be rotated 90° for wall mounting or 180º for other mounting options.
