Enjoy listening to music over your Wi-Fi network

Choose Aor Bin order to listen to music stored in a PC over your home network.

Listening by smartphone/iPhone operation

First, install the “SongPal” app (page 22) on your smartphone/iPhone. This app provides Wi-Fi connection setup with the

unit, and allows you to select/play music in the PC.

Listening with AirPlay (for iTunes users)

You can listen to music in your iTunes by operating the PC. Make a Wi-Fi connection between the unit and wireless router.

Required items:

 Wireless router (with access point)

 PC (with iTunes installed)

Wi-Fi beforehand.

Listening by smartphone/iPhone operation

Smartphone Connecting to Wi-Fi by “SongPal”

First, make a BLUETOOTH connection with the unit. Then configure the Wi-Fi settings. Complete step 6(page 8) within 15 minutes after turning on the

unit.

For iPhone users, follow the steps on page 9.

Preliminary steps:

Record the SSID and password of your router

in the spaces below.

SSID:

Password:

For details, refer to the operating

instructions of your router.

Make sure the NETWORK OFF/ON switch on

the rear of the unit is set to ON.

Make sure that a LAN cable is not connected

to the unit.*

Install the “SongPal” app on your

smartphone.

Search for “SongPal” at

Google Play.

* The wired and wireless connection cannot be

used at the same time.

Turn on the unit.

When the LINK indicator stops flashing and

turns off, go to the next step.

Start up the “SongPal” app.

Tap [SongPal] on your

smartphone.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

NFC compatible smartphone

Touch the N-Mark on the unit with the

smartphone.

Touch and hold until the

smartphone responds.

Non-NFC compatible smartphone

Tap [Open the Bluetooth

setting screen].

Tap the (BLUETOOTH) PAIRING button of

the unit once.

Make a BLUETOOTH connection between the unit and smartphone.

Tap and hold the (BLUETOOTH) PAIRING

button until the (BLUETOOTH) indicator

begins to flash quickly.*

Tap [SONY:SRS-X7

(Bluetooth)] on the

smartphone’s screen.

* The first time you tap the (BLUETOOTH)

PAIRING button after purchasing this unit, the

(BLUETOOTH) indicator flashes quickly.

Check that the (BLUETOOTH)

indicator is lit.

When a BLUETOOTH connection is established,

the (BLUETOOTH) indicator stops flashing and

stays lit.

Configure the Wi-Fi settings,

following the app’s instructions.

Flashing Lit

When the Wi-Fi connection is complete, the

LINK indicator lights up in green.

iPhone Connecting to Wi-Fi by “SongPal”

turning on the unit.

For smartphone users except for iPhone, follow the steps on page 6.

Make sure that a LAN cable is not connected

to the unit.*

Install the “SongPal” app on your iPhone.

Search for “SongPal” at

the App Store.

* The wired and wireless connection cannot be

used at the same time.

Turn on the unit.

When the LINK indicator stops flashing and

turns off, go to the next step.

Listening by smartphone/iPhone operation

Set the unit to paring mode.

Tap the (BLUETOOTH) PAIRING button

once.

Tap and hold the (BLUETOOTH) PAIRING

button until the (BLUETOOTH) indicator

begins to flash quickly.*

* The first time you tap the (BLUETOOTH)

PAIRING button after purchasing this unit, the

(BLUETOOTH) indicator flashes quickly.

Search the unit by the iPhone.

Tap [Settings] [Bluetooth].

Turn on BLUETOOTH.

Tap [SONY:SRS-X7

(Bluetooth)].

Check that the (BLUETOOTH)

indicator is lit.

When a BLUETOOTH connection is established,

the (BLUETOOTH) indicator stops flashing and

stays lit.
