Information about the Prototype:
The V 300 - A One-Off with 6 Axles.
The firm Krauss-Maffei built three type ML 2200 6-axle locomotives
based on the German Federal Railroad‘s successful V 200 for the
Yugoslavian State Railroad. Perhaps in the hope of additional
orders, a fourth, identical locomotive with the C-C wheel arran-
gement was built at Krauss-Maffei‘s own cost as a demonstrator
unit. This locomotive was presented and offered in a striking
builder‘s paint scheme to the German Federal Railroad among
others. After several tests, the motor performance for this locomo-
tive was increased and was designated internally at Krauss-Maffei
as the type ML 3000 C‘C‘. It took long negotiations to move the
German Federal Railroad to buy this one-off model and put it on
its roster as the class V 300 001. It was painted in the elegant
crimson / gray color scheme of its four-axle sibling and was used
primarily in premium express train service. In 1968, it was given the
computer number 230 001-0 and this impressive machine could be
seen in its last years in service between Hamburg and Westerland
on the Isle of Sylt, where it also pulled the popular auto trains
between Niebüll and Westerland. In 1975, road no. 230 001-0 was
put in storage, and the German Federal Railroad tried to sell it,
unsuccessfully however, to Italy in 1977. In 1978, it came back to
Germany and was finally scrapped two years later.

V 300 - Einzelgängerin mit 6 Achsen.
Auf Basis der erfolgreichen V 200 der Deutschen Bundesbahn
baute die Firma Krauss-Maffei drei sechsachsige Lokomotiven
der Gattung ML 2200 für die jugoslawische Staatsbahn. Wahr-
scheinlich, um sich weitere Aufträge zu erhoffen, wurde eine
weitere baugleiche Maschine mit der Achsfolge C‘C‘ auf eigene
Rechnung als Vorführlokomotive hergestellt. Die Lok wurde in
einer auffälligen Werkslackierung unter anderem der Deutschen
Bundesbahn vorgestellt und angeboten. Nach mehreren Erpro-
bungen konnte die Motorleistung der Lok gesteigert werden und
wurde firmenintern als ML 3000 C‘C‘ bezeichnet. Erst längere
Verhandlungen konnten die Deutsche Bundesbahn dazu bewe-
gen die Einzelgängerin zu erwerben und sie als V 300 001 in den
Bestand einzureihen. Sie bekam die elegante purpurrot/graue
Lackierung Ihrer vierachsigen Schwestern und war vornehmlich
im hochwertigen Schnellzugdienst anzutreffen. 1968 erhielt sie
die Computernummer 230 001-0 und in ihren letzten Einsatzjahren
konnte die imposante Maschine zwischen Hamburg und Wes-
terland auf Sylt, wo sie auch die beliebten Autozüge zwischen
Niebüll und Westerland gezogen hatte, beobachtet werden. 1975
wurde die 230 001-0 abgestellt und die Deutsche Bundesbahn
versuchte, sie 1977 nach Italien zu verkaufen, was allerdings
nicht gelang. Bereits 1978 kam sie nach Deutschland zurück und
wurde schließlich zwei Jahre später verschrottet.

Op basis van de succesvolle V 200 van de Deutsche Bundesbahn
bouwde de firma Krauss-Maffei drie zesassige locomotieven
van het type ML 2200 voor de Joegoslavische Staatsspoorwe-
gen. Waarschijnlijk om meer opdrachten te verwerven, werd
een andere identieke machine met de asindeling C‘C‘ voor
eigen rekening als demonstratielocomotief geproduceerd. De
loc werd in een opvallende fabriekskleurstelling onder andere
aan de Deutsche Bundesbahn voorgesteld en aangeboden. Na
meerdere proeven kon het motorvermogen van de loc verhoogd
worden en werd ze intern als ML 3000 C‘C‘ aangeduid. Pas na
langere onderhandelingen kon men de Deutsche Bundesbahn
ertoe bewegen de eenling te verwerven en ze als V 300 001 in
het bestand op te nemen. Ze kreeg de elegante purperrood/grij-
ze kleurstelling van haar vierassige zusters en was voornamelijk
in de hoogwaardige sneltreindienst aan te treffen. In 1968 kreeg
ze het computernummer 230 001-0 en in haar laatste inzetjaren
kon de imposante machine tussen Hamburg en Westerland op
Sylt, waar ze ook de populaire autotreinen tussen Niebüll en
Westerland getrokken had, waargenomen worden. In 1975 werd
de 230 001-0 afgesteld en de Deutsche Bundesbahn probeerde
haar in 1977 naar Italië te verkopen, wat echter niet gelukte.
Reeds in 1978 kwam ze naar Duitsland terug en werd uiteindelijk
twee jaar later verschroot.

S‘inspirant du succès de la V 200 de la Deutsche Bundesbahn,
la firme Krauss-Maffei construisit trois locomotives à six essieux
du type ML 2200 pour les chemins de fer yougoslaves. Probable-
ment dans l‘espoir d‘autres commandes, la firme prit l‘initiative
de construire une autre machine du même type, mais avec la
disposition d‘essieux CC comme loco de démonstration. Dans
une livrée d‘usine voyante, la locomotive fut présentée et pro-
posée entre autres à la Deutsche Bundesbahn. Après plusieurs
essais, la puissance du moteur de la loco put être augmentée
et la désignation interne de la machine devint ML 3000 C‘C‘.
Ce n‘est qu‘au bout de longues négociations que la Deutsche
Bundesbahn se laissa convaincre d‘acquérir le prototype et de
l‘incorporer à son parc sous l‘immatriculation V 300 001. Elle fut
dotée de l‘élégante livrée pourpre/gris de ses soeurs à quatre
essieux (par bogie) et fut essentiellement utilisée dans le service
de grandes lignes haut de gamme. En 1968, elle reçut le numéro
d‘immatriculation informatisé 230 001-0 et durant ses dernières
années de service, l‘imposante machine était visible entre Ham-
bourg et Westerland sur l‘ île de Sylt, où elle avait également
remorqué les trains populaires pour le transport d‘automobiles
entre Niebüll et Westerland. En 1975, la 230 001-0 fut garée et en
1977, la Deutsche Bundesbahn essaya sans succès de la vendre
en Italie. Elle revint en Allemagne dès 1978 et fut finalement
ferraillée deux années plus tard.

Sicherheitshinweise
• Die Lok darf nur mit einem dafür bestimmten Betriebssystem
(Märklin Wechselstrom-Transformator 6647, Märklin Delta,
Märklin Digital oder Märklin Systems) eingesetzt werden.
Nur Transformatoren verwenden, die Ihrer örtlichen
Netzspannung entsprechen.
Keinesfalls Transformatoren für eine Netzspannung von
220 V bzw. 110 V einsetzen.
• Die Lok darf nur aus einer Leistungsquelle gleichzeitig ver-
sorgt werden.
• Beachten Sie unbedingt die Sicherheitshinweise in der
Gebrauchsanleitung zu Ihrem Betriebssystem.
• Für den konventionellen Betrieb der Lok muss das Anschluss-
gleis entstört werden. Dazu ist das Entstörset 74046 zu ver-
wenden. Für Digitalbetrieb ist das Entstörset nicht geeignet.
Jegliche Garantie-, Gewährleistungs- und Schadensersatzansprüche sind
ausgeschlossen, wenn in Märklin-Produkten nicht von Märklin freigege-
bene Fremdteile eingebaut werden und / oder Märklin-Produkte umgebaut
werden und die eingebauten Fremdteile bzw. der Umbau für sodann aufge-
tretene Mängel und / oder Schäden ursächlich war. Die Darlegungs- und
Beweislast dafür, dass der Einbau von Fremdteilen oder der Umbau in bzw.
von Märklin-Produkten für aufgetretene Mängel und / oder Schäden nicht
ursächlich war, trägt die für den Ein- und / oder Umbau verantwortliche
Person und / oder Firma bzw. der Kunde.

This locomotive comes with a sine propulsion system and offers
these features:

Safety Warnings
• This locomotive is to be used only with an operating system
designed for it (Märklin 6646/6647 AC transformer,
Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital or Märklin Systems).
Use only transformers rated for your local household
power.
Do not under any circumstances use transformers rated
for 220 volts or 110 volts
• This locomotive must never be supplied with power from more
than one transformer.
• Pay close attention to the safety warnings in the
instructions for your operating system.
• The feeder track must be equipped to prevent interference
with radio and television reception, when the locomotive is
to be run in conventional operation. The 74046 interference
suppression set is to be used for this purpose.
No warranty or damage claims shall be accepted in those cases where
parts neither manufactured nor approved by Märklin have been installed
in Märklin products or where Märklin products have been converted in
such a way that the non-Märklin parts or the conversion were causal to the
defects and / or damage arising. The burden of presenting evidence and
the burden of proof thereof, that the installation of non-Märklin parts or the

Remarques importantes sur la sécurité
• La locomotive ne peut être mise en service qu’avec un

Märklin Systems).
Utilisez uniquement des transformateurs correspondant à
la tension secteur locale.
N´utilisez en aucun cas des transformateurs pour une
tension secteur de 220 V, respectivement 110 V.
• La locomotive ne peut être alimentée en courant que par une
seule source de courant.
• Veuillez impérativement respecter les remarques sur la
sécurité décrites dans le mode d’emploi de votre système
d’exploitation.
• Pour l’exploitation de la locomotive en mode conventionnel,
la voie de raccordement doit être déparasitée. A cet effet,
utiliser le set de déparasitage réf. 74046. Le set de déparasita-
ge ne convient pas pour l’exploitation en mode numérique.
Tout recours à une garantie commerciale ou contractuelle ou à une demande
de dommages-intérêt est exclu si des pièces non autorisées par Märklin
