1. Set

the

On/Off

(I/O)

switch

the

system

unit

(and

the

color

display,

attached)

the

Off

position

(0).

any

other

externally

the

On/Off

switch(es)

3. Unplug

the

system

unit

power

cord from

the

power

out-

let.

(If

you

have

the

3270

color

display, unplug its

power

cord also.)

4. Move

your

keyboard and all external options away from

the

work area.

5. Position the system unit

allow access

the

rear.

6. Using a flat-blade screwdriver

a 1/4-inch nutdriver,

remove the cover

mounting

screws by turning

them

counterclockwise

shown in the figure below. Save

the screws for the installation

the cover.

7. Carefully slide

the

unit cover away from

the

rear and

the front

indicated in

the

figure below. When

the

cover will

no further, tilt

up, remove

from

the

base, and set

aside.

back

unit

and locate

the

dis-

play card.

The

display card retaining

bracket

stamped

for ease

identification (see below).

the

inside

your

unit.

The

be installed in a long slot directly adjacent

the

display

card.

10.Using a flat-blade screwdriver

16-inch nutdriver,

remove

the

screw

that

holds the expansion slot cover in

place

turning

the

screw counterclockwise. Save the

screw for the installation

the adapter card.
