INTRODUCTION

The

WH-DFS

speakers

are

bipolar

units

designed

for

use

solely

rear

effects

speakers.

Home

Theatre

system,

the

directional

cues

come

from

the

front

and

centre

channels.

The

rear

channels

provide

ambience

and

rear

perspective

and

for

this

purpose

bipolar

design

with

its

mix

direct

and

reflected

sound

ideal.

Before

installing

your

loudspeakers

please

read

these

instructions

full.

CONNECTIONS

The

WH-DFS

speakers

connect

the

'Rear'

'Rear

Surround'terminals

your

amplifier

processor.

You

will

need

one

length

twin

core

cable

per

speaker.

Connect

the

Red

(+)

terminal

the

left

rear

unit

the

Red

(+)

terminal

the

amplifier's

left

rear

channel

output.

Connect

the

Black

(-)

terminal

this

unit

the

corresponding

Black

(-)

terminal

the

amplifier.

Repeat

for

the

Right

speaker.

The

connection

panel

uses

screw

terminals

the

drawing

illustrates

the

connection.

UNPACKING

Carefully

unpack

each

component

taking

care

not

mark

the

surface.

Inspect

the

product

and

report

any

damage

immediately

your

dealer.

Retain

the

packing

that

the

product

may

safely

shipped

the

future.

PREPARATION

MOUNTING

Connect

the

cable

the

speaker.

The

speaker

should

ideally

sited

0.6-1.5

metres

above

the

listening

position

and

2.5-3.5

metres

apart,

central

the

listener

and

behind

the

listening

position,

preferably

rear

wall.

Ensure

Drill

two

5mm

holes

each

hole

using

appropriate

wall

plugs.

Leave

stub

5mm

protruding

from

the

wall.

Align

the

holes

mounting

brackets

over

the

screw

heads

and

carefully

lower

the

unit

onto

the

screws.

The

speaker

should

now

securely

attached

with

the

spacers

resting

against

the

wall.

Now

connect

the

speakers

the

amplifier.

Note:

alternative,

the

WH-DFS

can

shelf

stand

mounted.

The

badge

the

WH-DFS

can

rotate

match

the

orientation

loudspeaker.

LOUDSPEAKER

SIZES

Many

digital

Processors

require

you

specify

the

size

speakers

various

channels.

These

are

usually'Large'

'Small'.

You

must

select

'Small'

for

the

rear

channels.

Selecting

'Large'

may

degrade

the

performance

the

WH-

DFS.

Set

the

subwoofer

option

processor

'On'

'Yes'.

This

will

route

all

the

deep

bass

subwoofer.

Each

speaker

supplied

with

four

self-adhesive

spacers.

Apply

each

rear

corner

before

mounting

unit.

CHOOSING

AND

PREPARING

CABLES

Specialist

audio

cable

offers

better

performance

than

general

purpose

'zip'

'bell'

wire.

Choose

cable

suitable

diameter-

cable

that

too

thin

will

limit

the

dynamics

the

sound

and

may

impair

the

bass

response.

Audio

cable

polarised,

with

two

cores

different

colours

often

Split

the

cable

end

depth

Strip

about

7mm

insulation

each

end

lightly

twist

the

wire

stands.

When

connecting

cables,

ensure

that

there

are

loose

stands

adjacent

terminals.

WIRES

wall

mounting

loudspeaker

CARE

cloth

spray

furniture

polish

and

soft

cloth.

Apply

the

spray

sparingly

and

polish

cabinet.
