Swann NVW-470 Firmware update guide

This guide will help you install the latest firmware update to your NVW-470 system.

This new firmware will have a new interface system and features to improve the user experience and

performance of the system.

Please make sure you have the following items:

1. NVW-470 unit and power supply

2. Mini-USB cable (supplied with kit)

3. FAT32-formatted USB flash drive or memory stick (8GB max size) that has the correct firmware file

installed ( you can purchase at most stores )

Unplug the camera(s) from power to preserve the camera WiFi settings. If you leave the camera(s)

connected, you have to sync the cameras to the main unit again after the firmware update is finished.

Plug the USB flash drive/memory stick to the supplied mini-USB cable. Then, connect it to the USB port at

the back of the NVW-470 unit.

Press the Menu button on the front of the NVR unit and tap on the Home button to open the menu screen.

Select the System menu option to open the Maintenance menu.

Tap on the Upgrade button.

Tap or select the firmware file that is saved on the USB flash drive/memory stick. Then, hit the Upgrade

button below.

Tap OK to continue the firmware upgrade and let it reboot.

After the reboot, it will ask you to tap on the ‘+’ symbols for calibration. Then, the Wizard will appear.

Please skip the Wizard by tapping on the X button on the top right corner. There is one more step to

complete the firmware update.

Press the Menu button again at the front of the NVR and tap on the Home button to access the menu

screen.

Tap on System

Tap on the Restore button

Make sure all items are selected or checked and hit the OK button.

Hit the OK button to continue.

Let it reboot and the firmware upgrade is now complete.

Set up the network WiFi settings on the main unit then, reconnect the power to the camera(s) and they

should sync to the main monitor automatically.

You can now use the updated quick setup guide to start using your ‘new’ NVW-470 system!
