Before use
Carefully read this manual and any manuals for compatible hardware. Retain
instructions for future reference.
Precautions
Safety
ˎKeep the product out of the reach of small children. Young children might
damage the product causing it to malfunction, swallow small parts or
accidentally injure themselves or others.
Use and handling
ˎDo not let any other metal items come in contact with the product’s USB
connector.
ˎDo not throw or drop the product or subject it to strong physical shock.
ˎDo not place any objects on top of the product. Do not stand on the product.
ˎDo not place the product on surfaces that are unstable, tilted or subject to
vibration.
ˎDo not allow liquid or small particles to get into the product.
ˎDo not touch the product with wet hands.
ˎDo not touch the inside of the USB connector or insert foreign objects.
ˎNever disassemble or modify the product.
Exterior protection
Follow the instructions below to help prevent the product exterior from
deteriorating or becoming discoloured.
ˎDo not place any rubber or vinyl materials on the product exterior for an
extended period of time.
ˎUse a soft, dry cloth to clean the product. Do not use solvents or other
chemicals. Do not wipe with a chemically-treated cleaning cloth.

Storage conditions
ˎDo not expose the product to high temperatures, high humidity or direct
sunlight.
ˎDo not leave the product in a car with the windows closed, particularly in hot
weather.
ˎDo not expose the product to dust, smoke or steam.
Using the wireless adaptor for the first time
When you connect the wireless adaptor to a Windows®PC or Mac, you can use
a DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller to control compatible applications.
Details on compatible applications can be found at
playstation.com/ds4-adaptor.
You must pair the controller to the wireless adaptor when using it for the first
time.
1Make sure the wireless controller is off.
If the light bar is on, press the (PS) button until it turns off. Disconnect the
USB cable if it is connected to the controller.
2Insert the wireless adaptor into the USB port on your Windows®PC or
Mac device.
The wireless adaptor’s status indicator flashes slowly.
3Push the wireless adaptor in the direction of the arrow for at least
3seconds.
The status indicator flashes rapidly while the adaptor is in pairing mode.

4Press and hold both the SHARE button and (PS) button on the
controller for at least 3 seconds.
The controller’s light bar flashes while the controller is in pairing mode.
When pairing is complete, both the wireless adaptor’s status indicator and
the controller’s light bar turn a solid colour.
Hints
ˎOnly one controller can be paired with the wireless adaptor.
ˎThe wireless adaptor cannot be used to connect a DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller
to a PlayStation®4 system, PlayStation®Vita system or PlayStation®TV system.
Using a paired controller
Follow the steps below to use a paired controller with your device.
1Insert the wireless adaptor into the USB port of your device.
The wireless adaptor’s status indicator flashes slowly.
2Press the (PS) button on the controller.
When the devices are connected, both the wireless adaptor’s status indicator
and the controller’s light bar turn a solid colour.
Hints
If the controller cannot connect to the wireless adaptor, try the following:
ˎTurn the controller off and try to pair it again with the wireless adaptor (the adaptor
might already be paired with another controller).
ˎMove the controller closer to the adaptor. Make sure there are no physical obstacles
that might be blocking communication between them.
ˎMove nearby Wi-Fi devices such as smartphones or tablets away from the adaptor
and controller, or turn them off.

Remove the wireless adaptor from your device.
