Joiningthewingpanels

1.Locatethewingjoinerandslideitintotheslotofthelefthandwingpanel.Ifrequired,carefullyfiletheopeningoftheslotto

allowthejoinertopassfreelyintothewing.Usinga pen,markontothejoinerthecentrelineposition.Trimawaythecoveringatthe

aileronservoopeningsonthewingunderside.

2.Followingtheadhesive'sinstructions,mixupsufficientfiveminuteepoxyandspreadtheadhesiveevenlyontoallsidesofone

halfofthewingjoiner.Makingsurethejoineristhecorrectwayup,pushthejoinerintothelefthandwingpaneluptothecentre

linemark,wipingoffanyexcessadhesive.Allowepoxytoset.

3.Trialfittherighthandpanelbyslidingitovertheprotrudingjoiner,checkingthatthetwowingpanelfacesmeetwithoutan

excessivegap.Notethatthewingisnotflatbuthasa slightbend,calleddihedral.Thisisbuiltinautomaticallyusingthejoinerand

panelfaces.WhensatisfiedapplyPLENTYofepoxytothejoinerandpanelface,slidingthejoinerintotherighthandwingpaneland

bringingthetwowinghalvestogether.Toensuresufficientworkingtimeuse30minor1 hourepoxy.Wipeoffanyexcessadhesive

andusemaskingtapetoholdthepanelsalignedtogether.Allowtheepoxytosetandremovethetape.

3.1Applyingepoxytothejoiner

andpanelface

4.Approximatelysixmillimetresfrom

thewingjoin,applymaskingtapeto

eachpanelallaroundthewing.Usinga

pieceofcardorthinwood,scrape

fiveminuteepoxyintothejoinbetween

thetwomaskingtaperuns.Remove

thetapeandallowtheepoxytoset.

5.Positiontheaileronservomountingtraycentrallyoverthecut-outinthewingunderside.Usinga Sharpmodellingknifescore

aroundthetraybeingcarefuionlytocutthroughthecoveringandnotthewingsheetingbeneath.Removethecoveringandgluethe

trayinplaceusingmediumcyanoacrylateadhesive.Dependantuponthedepthoftheservo,itmaybenecessarytogluethetwo

servospacerstothetraytoraisetheservotoclearthewing.T

6.Followingthemanufacturer'sinstructions,fittherubberservomountinggrommetsandbrassferrulessuppliedwiththeradio

enuipmenttotheaileronservoandlocatetheservointhetray.Drill1.5mmpilotholesforthefoursecuringscrewssuppliedwiththe

andscrewtheservoinplace,orientatingtheservoleadtothefrontofthemodel.

7.Centretheaileronservobyswitchingontheradioequipmentwiththestickscentralisedandtrimleversatneutral.Switchoffand

disconnecttheaileronservo.Trimoffthetwounusedarmsfromtheservoarm.Withtheservoarmplacedparallelwiththe

wingspan,pushthearmontotheservo.Usinga 2mmdrill,openouttheholesintheservoarmscorrespondingtoapproximately

11mmeachsideofcentre.

9.Threada plasticcleviskeeperontoeachofthetwoclevises.Holdingthethreadedpushrodsusingpliersscrewthetwonylon

clevisesontotheendsofthepushrods.Opentheclevisesandsnapthemintothetorquerodhorns.

10.Holdinginturneachaileroncentredwiththewing,markthepositionwherethepushrodcrossesthe2mmholeintheservoarm

witha felttippen.Usinga pairofpliers,bendthepushrodupthrough90degreesatthispointandcutofftheexcesslength,

leaving6mmofpushrodafterthebend.

11.Threadthepushrodsintotheseholesfollowedbya swingkeeperontothepushrods,snappingthekeepersintoplace

onthepushrods.

12.Reconnecttheservotothereceiverandcheckthattheaileronsarecentredatneutral.Theclevisescanbeundippedfromthe

torquerodhornsandwoundinorouttoachievethis.Securethearmtotheservousingthemanufacturer'sscrew.Finally,pushthe

cleviskeepersclosertothetorquerodhorns.Notethatoneaileronwillriseandonewillfall- thisiscorrectandis

necessarytoeffecta turn.

15.Connectthenoselegsteeringarmtothelowerwirepushrodinthefrontofthefuselageandengageitintotheslotofthenose

legmoulding.Passthenoselegthroughthenoselegmouldingandintothesteeringarm.Notethatthegrooveinthelegshould

facethefrontofthemodelandwillengagewiththescrewinthesteeringarm.Tightenthescrewofthesteeringarmonto

thenoseleg.

thecoveringmaterialatthesepointsandinsertthetwowingdowelsthroughtheholes.Measurethedowelstoensuretheyare

protrudinganequalamountandapplya smallamountofmediumcyanoacrylatetosecurethem.
