CHECK YOUR VENT SYSTEM FOR GOOD AIR FLOW

Good air ow

Along with heat, dryers require good air ow to efciently

dry laundry. Proper venting will reduce your drying times

and improve your energy savings. See “Installation

Instructions”.

The venting system attached to the dryer plays a big role in

good air ow.

Service calls caused by improper venting are not covered

by the warranty and will be paid by the customer, regardless

of who installed the dryer.

Maintain good air ow by:

n Cleaning your lint screen before each load.

n Replace plastic or foil vent material

with 4" (102 mm) diameter heavy, rigid

vent material.

Good Better

n Use the shortest length of vent possible.

n Use no more than four 90° elbows in a vent system;

each bend and curve reduces air ow.

n Remove lint and debris from the exhaust hood.

n Remove lint from the entire length of the vent system

at least every 2 years. When cleaning is complete, be

sure to follow the “Installation Instructions” supplied

with your dryer for nal product check.

n Clear away items from the front the dryer.

Use Sensor Cycles for better fabric care and energy savings

Use the Sensor Cycles to provide the most energy savings and enhanced fabric care from the dryer. During Sensor Cycles,

drying air temperature and moisture level are sensed in the load. This sensing occurs throughout the drying cycle and the dryer

shuts off when the load reaches the selected dryness. Use the NORMAL DRY dryness level to provide optimal energy savings.

With Timed Cycles, the dryer runs the amount of time set and sometimes results in shrinkage, wrinkling, and static due to

over-drying. Use Timed Cycles for the occasional damp load that needs a little more drying time or when using the drying rack.

Tips for getting the best performance from your steam dryer (on some models)

n Results may vary depending on fabric. 100% cotton

garments with wrinkle-free nish may yield better results

than those without. 100% cotton items may require

additional touching up after the Steam Cycle.

n Use of dryer sheet is not recommended with Steam Cycles.

It may cause temporary staining on clothes.

n It is not recommended to use Steam Cycles for items that

have been starched. Wash any starched or new garments

prior to using a Steam Cycle.

n The Custom Refresh Cycle is best for smoothing out

wrinkles and reducing odors from loads consisting of

small numbers of dry items of wrinkle-free cotton, cotton-

polyester blend, common knits, and synthetic garments.

n The Auto Refresh Cycle is best for smoothing out wrinkles

from clothes that have been left in the dryer too long. For

best results, do not overload the dryer.

CONTROL PANEL AND FEATURES

POWER/CANCEL BUTTON

Press to turn the dryer on and off.

Press to stop/cancel a cycle at any time.

CYCLE CONTROL KNOB

Use your dryer’s Cycle Control knob to select a cycle

for your laundry load. See “Cycle Guide” for detailed

descriptions of cycles.

START/PAUSE BUTTON

Press and hold to start a cycle, or press once while a cycle

is in process to pause it.

MORE TIME/LESS TIME for TIMED CYCLES

Use these buttons with Timed Cycles to increase or

decrease the length of a Timed Cycle.

LED DISPLAY AND SETTINGS BUTTONS

When you select a cycle, its default settings will light up

and the Estimated Time Remaining will be displayed.

Use the buttons along the bottom of the display to adjust

settings. See “Cycle Guide” for available settings on each

cycle. Not all settings are available with all cycles.

Not all features and cycles are available on all models.

Non-steam models

Cycle Status Lights

The indicator bar in the display will let you know

what stage the drying cycle is in process. For

more information on each stage, see “Cycle Status

Indicators”.

Temp Level

When using Timed Cycles or Custom Refresh, you may

select a dry temperature based on the type of load

you are drying. Use the warmest setting safe for the

garments in the load. Follow garment label instructions.

NOTE: Sensor Cycles use a preset temperature that is

not adjustable.

Dryness Level

You may adjust the Dryness Level on Sensor Cycles, if

desired. If items are not as dry as you would like after

an Sensor Cycle, select More Dry. If items are too dry,

select Less Dry.

NOTE: Dryness Level is for use with Sensor Cycles

only.

Wrinkle Prevent™ Option

If you will be unable to remove a load immediately,

press Wrinkle Prevent to add 90 minutes of periodic

tumbling to help reduce wrinkling.

CYCLE SIGNAL

Use this button to turn the signal indicating the

end of a drying cycle on or off.

CYCLE STATUS INDICATORS

The Cycle Status Indicators show the progress of a cycle.

Sensing

The Sensing indicator will light during Sensor Cycles to

indicate that the moisture sensor on the dryer is operating.

This indicator will not light during Timed Cycles or options

such as Wrinkle Prevent™.

Wet

The load is still wet and/or the cycle just started.

In the Custom Refresh or the Auto Refresh Steam Cycles

(on some models), the Wet indicator comes on after the

water has been sprayed into the drum, 4-5 minutes into the

cycle. The Wet light illuminates until the dryer goes into Cool

Down with 1 minute of time remaining.

Damp

This indicator is used with Sensor cycles to show that the

load is partially dried and items that you may wish to hang

up or iron while still damp may removed.

Cool Down

The dryer has nished drying with heat, and is now tumbling

the load without heat to cool it down and reduce wrinkling.

Steam model shown

Done

This will indicate that the selected cycle has ended and the

load may be removed from the dryer. If the Wrinkle Prevent

option has been selected, the dryer may continue to tumble

the load, even if the Done indicator is lit.

Wrinkle Prevent™

This indicator will light if the Wrinkle Prevent option has been

selected and is running. The dryer will continue to tumble the

load for up to 90 minutes after the cycle has ended.

Steam (on some models)

This indicator will light when the Steam function is active.

NOTE: Steam is not available on all models or on all cycles.

Controls Locked

This indicator will light when the controls are locked. Press

and hold the Cycle Signal button for 3 seconds to unlock.

Control Lock

If the dryer is running:

Press and hold the Cycle Signal button for 3

seconds to lock the controls of the dryer and

avoid an accidental change in cycle options

or settings during a drying cycle. Press and

hold again for 3 seconds to unlock.

To enable the Control Lock feature if the dryer

is off, it is not necessary to press POWER

before activating the Control Lock feature.

CYCLE GUIDE — SENSOR CYCLES

Work clothes, casual Normal Medium More 35 Wrinkle Prevent™Uses Medium heat to dry large

wear, mixed cottons, Normal loads of mixed fabrics and items.

Work clothes, casual Eco Normal Medium More 35 Wrinkle Prevent™Recommended for average-sized

wear, mixed cottons, Normal loads of medium-weight items

Load Size Recommendations

For best results, follow the wet load size recommendations noted

for each cycle.

Small load: Fill the dryer drum with 3-4 items,

not more than 1/4 full.

Medium load: Fill the dryer drum up to about 1/2 full.

Large load: Fill the dryer drum up to about 3/4 full.

Do not overload. Items need to tumble freely.

Use Sensor Cycles for better fabric care and energy savings

The dryer senses moisture in the load or air temperature and shuts off when the load reaches the selected dryness level.

Use the NORMAL dryness level to provide optimal energy savings.

with dry loads to loosen wrinkles, reduce odors, and

refresh fabrics.

Adjusting drying time on Timed Cycles

When you select a Timed Cycle, the

default time appears in the display.

Use the More Time/Less Time buttons

to increase or decrease the time in

1 minute increments. Press and

hold to change the time in 5 minute

increments.

The maximum dry time is 100 minutes.

Using Air Dry

Use the Air Dry temperature setting with Timed Cycles for items

that require drying without heat such as rubber, plastic, and

heat-sensitive fabrics. This chart shows examples of items that

can be dried using Air Dry.

When using Air Dry:

• Checkthatcoveringsaresecurelystitched.

• Shakeanduffpillowsbyhandperiodicallyduringthecycle.

• Dryitemcompletely.Foamrubberpillowsareslowtodry.

NOTE: Air Dry setting is only available with Timed Cycles.

Selecting the Drying Temperature

A High heat setting may be used for drying heavyweight

items such as towels and work clothes.

A Low to Medium heat setting may be used for drying

medium-weight items such as sheets, blouses, dresses,

underwear, permanent press fabrics, and some knits.

Use a no heat (Air Dry) setting for foam, rubber, plastic,

or heat-sensitive fabrics.

Line dry bonded or laminated fabrics.

NOTE: If you have questions about drying temperatures

for various loads, refer to the care label directions.

3. Press POWER/CANCEL

Press the POWER/CANCEL button to turn on the dryer.

4. Select the desired cycle

Select the desired cycle for your load. See the “Cycle Guide”

for more information about each cycle. Not all cycles are on

all models.

USING YOUR DRYER

1. Clean the lint screen

Clean the lint screen before each load. Pull the lint screen

straight up. Roll lint off the screen with your ngers. Do not rinse

or wash screen to remove lint. Wet lint is hard to remove. Push

the lint screen rmly back into place.

2. Load the dryer

Open the door by pulling on the handle. Place laundry in the

dryer. Add a dryer sheet to wet load, if desired. Close the door.

IMPORTANT: Do not overload the dryer. Items need to tumble

freely. Overloading can lead to poor drying performance and

may increase wrinkling and tangling.
