Informationen zum Vorbild
Im Februar 1997 begann die Serienlieferung der Hochleis-
tungs-Lokomotive Baureihe 101. Diese Maschinen sind
sowohl für den schnellen Personenverkehr als auch für
den schweren Güterverkehr konzipiert. Sie stellen eine
völlig neue Lokomotiv-Generation dar. Die für 250 km/h
ausgelegten Drehgestelle verfügen über eine Einzelrad-
satz-Steuerung, die für jeden Radsatz die optimale Zug-
kraft einstellt. Ein Bordradar sorgt für den notwendigen
Schleuderschutz, um die Maximalleistung von 6,6 MW
optimal auf die Schiene zu bringen.
Besonderes Augenmerk wurde auf die Umweltver-
träglichkeit gelegt. Dies umfasst Aspekte wie z. B. die
Verwendung umweltverträglicher Kühlmittel und Farben,
die Netzrückspeisung der Bremsenergie, die sortenreine
Zerlegbarkeit oder die Rücknahmeverpflichtung nach
Ende der Nutzungszeit.
Viele Lokomotiven der BR 101 sind seitlich mit Werbeauf-
schriften beklebt. So wurde am 21. Dezember 2006 die
101 016-4 anlässlich des 60. Geburtstages des Kinderhilfs-
werks Unicef der Vereinten Nationen entsprechend verziert.
Neben der Deutschen Bahn AG unterstützen auch Sie mit ei-
nem Spendenanteil von 25,- Euro das Kinderhilfswerk Unicef
durch den Kauf dieses Modells der 101 016-4 von Märklin.
Information about the prototype
Regular production of the class 101 high-efficiency loco-
motive has started in February of 1997. These units are
designed for fast passenger service as well as for heavy
freight transport. They represent a totally new generation
of locomotives. The trucks are designed for 250 km/h (ap-
prox. 156 mph) and make use of individual axle steering
that provides the optimal tractive effort for each wheel
set. On-board detection systems provide the neces-
sary anti-slip wheel control to enable the maximum 6.6
megawatts (approx. 8,851 hp) of power to be transmitted
to the rails.
Special consideration was given to the locomotive’s effect
on the environment. This encompasses such things as the
use of environmentally friendly coolants and paints, the
regenerative current produced by braking, and the ability
to separate out the locomotive’s component materials for
recycling at the end of its working life.
Many class 101 locomotives have advertising themes
affixed to their sides. On December 21, 2006, road no.
101 016-4 was decorated in this manner on the occasion
of the 60th anniversary of the United Nations UNICEF, the
children‘s emergency aid organization.

Informations concernant le modèle réel
La livraison en série de la locomotive hautes performan-
ces de la série 101 débuterait en février 1997. Ces ma-
chines sont conçues aussi bien pour le transport rapide
de voyageurs que pour le transport de marchandises
lourdes. Elles représentent une génération de locomotives
entièrement nouvelle. Les bogies conçus pour une vitesse
de 250 km/h disposent d’une commande individuelle
pour chaque essieu complet, qui règle la force de traction
optimale pour celui-ci. Un radar embarqué assure la pro-
tection de survitesse nécessaire, pour que la puissance
maximale de 6,6 MW soit répercutée de façon optimale
sur la voie.
Une attention particulière a été accordée à la protection
de l’environnement. Ceci inclut des aspects tels que
l’utilisation de réfrigérants et de peintures non polluants,
la réinjection dans le réseau de l’énergie de freinage, le tri
par composants lors du désassemblage ou l’obligation de
reprise après utilisation.
De nombreuses locomotives de la série BR 101 sont or-
nées d’inscriptions publicitaires sur les flancs. C’est ainsi
que le 21 décembre 2006, la 101 016-4 a été décorée
à l’occasion du 60e anniversaire de l’Unicef, organisme

In februari 1997 begint de aflevering van de hoogver-
mogenslocomotief serie 101. Deze machines zijn zowel
voor het snelle reizigersvervoer als voor het zware
goederenvervoer ontwikkeld. Ze vormen een compleet
nieuwe generatie locomotieven. De draaistellen die voor
250 km/h ontwikkeld zijn, beschikken over een regeling
die voor elk wielstel afzonderlijk de optimale trekkracht
instelt. Boordradar zorgt voor de vereiste controle op slip,
zodat het maximale vermogen van 6,6 MW optimaal op
de rails overgebracht wordt.
Bijzondere aandacht is aan milieu-eisen besteed.Die
omvat aspecten als het gebruik van milieuvriendelijke
koelmiddelen en verfsoorten, de terugleiding van de rem-
energie in het stroomnet, de demontage in materiaalsoor-
ten soort bij soort en de verplichting de machine terug te
leveren aan de fabriek aan het einde van de levensduur.
Veel locomotieven van de serie BR 101 zijn aan de zijkant
voorzien van reclame uitingen. Zo werd op 21 december
2006 de 101 016-4, naar aanleiding van het zestigjarige
bestaan van het Kinderfonds Unicef van de Verenigde
Naties, overeenkomstig versierd.
Naast de Deutschen Bahn AG ondersteunt ook u het
Kinderfonds Unicef met een gift van EUR 25.00 door de
aankoop van dit model van de 101 016-4 van Märklin.

Sicherheitshinweise
• Die Lok darf nur mit einem dafür bestimmten Betriebs-
system (Märklin Wechselstrom-Transformator 6647,
Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital oder Märklin Systems)
eingesetzt werden. Keinesfalls Transformatoren für
eine Eingangsspannung von 220 V - für USA 110 V
- verwenden.
• Die Lok darf nur aus einer Leistungsquelle gleichzeitig
versorgt werden.
• Für den konventionellen Betrieb der Lok muss das
Anschlussgleis entstört werden. Dazu ist das Entstör-
set 74046 zu verwenden. Für Digitalbetrieb ist das
Entstörset nicht geeignet.
• Beachten Sie unbedingt die Sicherheitshinweise in der
Gebrauchsanleitung zu Ihrem Betriebssystem.
Jegliche Garantie-, Gewährleistungs- und Schadensersatzan-
sprüche sind ausgeschlossen, wenn in Märklin-Produkten nicht
von Märklin freigegebene Fremdteile eingebaut werden und /
oder Märklin-Produkte umgebaut werden und die eingebauten
Fremdteile bzw. der Umbau für sodann aufgetretene Mängel und
/ oder Schäden ursächlich war. Die Darlegungs- und Beweislast
dafür, dass der Einbau von Fremdteilen oder der Umbau in bzw.
von Märklin-Produkten für aufgetretene Mängel und / oder Schäden
nicht ursächlich war, trägt die für den Ein- und / oder Umbau ver
antwortliche Person und / oder Firma bzw. der Kunde
Safety Warnings
• This locomotive is to be used only with an opera-
ting system designed for it (Märklin 6646/6647 AC
trans-former, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital or Märklin
Systems). Under no circumstances should transfor-
mers rated for an input of 220 volts be connected to
the American 110 volt household current system.
• This locomotive must never be supplied with power
from more than one transformer.
• The feeder track must be equipped to prevent inter-
ference with radio and television reception, when the
locomotive is to be run in conventional operation. The
74046 interference suppression set is to be used for
this purpose. The interference suppression set is not
suitable for digital operation.
• Pay close attention to the safety warnings in the
instructions for your operating system.
No warranty or damage claims shall be accepted in those cases
where parts neither manufactured nor approved by Märklin have
been installed in Märklin products or where Märklin products have
been converted in such a way that the non-Märklin parts or the
conversion were causal to the defects and / or damage arising. The
burden of presenting evidence and the burden of proof thereof,
that the installation of non-Märklin parts or the conversion in or of
Märklin products was not causal to the defects and / or damage

Remarques importantes sur la sécurité
• La locomotive ne peut être mise en service qu’avec
un système d’exploitation adéquat (Märklin courant
alternatif - transformateur 6647, Märklin Delta, Märklin
Digital ou Märklin Systems). N’utilisez en aucun cas de
transformateurs pour une tension à l’entrée de 220 V
- 110 V pour les Etats-Unis.
• La locomotive ne peut être alimentée en courant que
par une seule source de courant.
• Pour l’exploitation de la locomotive en mode conven-
tionnel, la voie de raccordement doit être déparasitée.
A cet effet, utiliser le set de déparasitage réf. 74046. Le
set de déparasitage ne convient pas pour l’exploitation
en mode numérique.
• Veuillez impérativement respecter les remarques sur
la sécurité décrites dans le mode d’emploi en ce qui
concerne le système d’exploitation.
Tout recours à une garantie commerciale ou contractuelle ou à
une demande de dommages-intérêt est exclu si des pièces non
autorisées par Märklin sont intégrées dans les produits Märklin et /
ou si les produits Märklin sont transformés et que les pièces d’autres
fabricants montées ou la transformation constituent la cause des
défauts et / ou dommages apparus. C’est à la personne et / ou la
société responsable du montage / de la transformation ou au client

• De loc mag niet vanuit meer dan één stroomvoorzie-
ning gelijktijdig gevoed worden.
• Voor het conventionele bedrijf met de loc dient de
aansluitrail te worden ontstoort. Hiervoor dient men
de ontstoor-set 74046 te gebruiken. Voor het digitale
bedrijf is deze ontstoor-set niet geschikt.
• Lees ook aandachtig de veiligheidsvoorschriften in de
gebruiksaanwijzing van uw bedrijfssysteem.
Elke aanspraak op garantie en schadevergoeding is uitgesloten,
wanneer in Märklin-producten niet door Märklin vrijgegeven vreem-
de onderdelen ingebouwd en / of Märklin-producten omgebouwd
worden en de ingebouwde vreemde onderdelen resp. de ombouw
oorzaak van nadien opgetreden defecten en / of schade was. De
aantoonplicht en de bewijslijst daaromtrent, dat de inbouw van
vreemde onderdelen in Märklin-producten of de ombouw van
Märklin-producten niet de oorzaak van opgetreden defecten en /
of schade is geweest, berust bij de voor de inbouw en/of ombouw
verantwoordelijke persoon en / of firma danwel bij de klant.

Vostro sistema di funzionamento.
Märklin non fornisce alcuna garanzia, assicurazione e risarcimento
danni in caso di montaggio sui prodotti Märklin di componenti non
espressamente approvati dalla ditta. Märklin altresì non risponde in
caso di modifiche al prodotto, qualora i difetti e i danni riscontrati
sullo stesso siano stati causati da modifiche non autorizzate o dal
montaggio di componente esterni da lei non approvati. L‘onere
della prova che i componenti montati e le modifiche apportate
non sono state la causa del danno o del difetto, resta a carico del

indemnización sobre aquellos productos Märklin en los que se hu-
bieran montado piezas ajenas no autorizadas por Märklin y/o sobre
aquellos productos Märklin que hayan sido modificados cuando la
piezas ajenas montadas o la modificación sean las causas de los
