Introduction

This document provides instructions for configuring the HD4US(X) indoor/outdoor vandal-resistant mini-

dome camera. These instructions are intended for system installers, administrators, and operators.

Please read this guide carefully before you install your camera. Keep this guide for future reference.

Accessing the OSD Menu

Press the OSD controller joystick to access the OSD menus.

Move the joystick in the desired direction to navigate through

menu options. Two dots (..) indicates that a submenu is

present. Press the joystick to enter or exit a submenu.

Monitor Out Connector (2nd Video)

Use the monitor out connector if you want to connect a

portable monitor to verify the view angle and change the

settings. An adapter cable is supplied.

Exposure Menu

Lens

Select DC as the lens mode. Enter the DC setup menu to focus the lens using the focus meter. The

maximum focus number corresponds to the best focus.

Note Only DC mode is supported at this time. Choosing MANUAL mode might cause

incorrect operation.

AE Preference

Select INDOOR or OUTDOOR as the automatic exposure preference.

BLC (Backlight Compensation)

Backlight compensation prevents subjects in the center of the scene from appearing too dark when

backlighting is present.

Select ON or OFF. If ON is selected, enter the BLC setup menu to select the amount of backlight

compensation you want to use. Select a value from 10 to 50. The higher the number, the greater the

amount of backlight compensation.

WDR (Wide Dynamic Range)

Wide dynamic range provides clear, balanced images in high-contrast lighting conditions.

Select from LOW, NORMAL, MEDIUM, HIGH, or CUSTOM. If CUSTOM is selected, enter the auto

range menu to adjust the values for bias and limit.

AGC (Automatic Gain Control)

Automatic gain control adjusts the video signal strength to compensate for changes in light levels.

Select from LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH, or CUSTOM. If CUSTOM is selected, enter the AGC menu to

adjust the values for bias and limit.

Sense-Up

Sense-Up lets you adjust the frame integration to provide a clear image under low light conditions.

You can set the maximum frame integration from 2× (default) to 64×.
