Addendum

IAQPoint User Manual

The IAQPoint Indoor Air Quality Monitor can be duct-mounted. It will

operate most effectively when the air speed is between 500-4,000 ft/min

(2.5-20.3 m/sec)*. It may be installed to monitor either incoming fresh air or

outgoing exhaust air. In order to optimize its operation, install the monitor

on a straight section of duct 3 feet (1 m) away from any curved ductwork.

Sampling Probe Assembly

The sampling probe is supplied in 3 parts: the base (1 piece), the sampling

probe sections (11 pieces) and the plug (1 piece). Before use, the

sampling probe must be assembled by snapping together the base, all 11

sampling probe sections, and the plug as shown in the illustration below.

Before proceeding with the installation, verify that all sections have been

properly connected to create a solid sampling probe assembly.

1. Drill a 1.18 in. (3 cm) opening in the duct for the sampling tube.

2. Orient the lateral air holes to face the air ﬂow and insert the

sampling tube into the opening.

3. Afﬁx the octagonal plate to the duct.

4. Place a standard electrical box on the octagonal plate (orient

the box’s mounting holes vertically) and afﬁx with two #8 metal

screws.

5. Screw the mounting plate onto the electrical box.

6. Connect the wire from the electrical box to the IAQPoint monitor.

7. Connect the power and outputs as shown in Wiring Details.

8. Verify that the sampling tube feeds into the appropriate port on

the back of the IAQPoint monitor. Press the monitor onto the

plastic base (the latches will click).

*Honeywell uses ft/min velocity rules but some industries and companies use cubic feet

per minute (CFM). To convert from CFM to velocity (ft/min), divide the ﬂow by the area. For

example, in a 2 ft. x 4 ft. duct, where the area is 8 sq. ft., with an air ﬂow of 30,000 CFM, the

air velocity would be (30,000 cu. ft/min) ÷ (8 sq.ft) = 3,750 ft/min.

Le moniteur de qualité de l'air intérieur IAQPoint peut être monté sur

gaine. Son efﬁcacité est maximale quand la vitesse de l'air se situe entre

2,5 et 20,3 m/seconde (500 et 4 000 pieds/minute)*. Il peut être installé

pour surveiller l'air frais entrant ou l'air évacué. Aﬁn d'optimiser son

fonctionnement, installer le moniteur sur une section droite du conduit,

à une distance minimale de 1 m (3 pieds) d'une courbe ou d'un joint du

conduit.

Montage de la sonde d'échantillonnage

La sonde d'échantillonnage est fournie en 3 parties : la base (1

pièce), les sections de la sonde d'échantillonnage (11 pièces) et le

capuchon (1 pièce). Avant l'utilisation, les différentes parties de la sonde

d'échantillonnage doivent être assemblées (la base, les 11 sections de

sonde d'échantillonnage et le capuchon conformément à l'illustration

ci‑dessous. (Deux sections de la sonde d'échantillonnage sont

représentées sur l'illustration.)

Avant l'installation, vériﬁer que toutes les sections sont correctement

montées et qu'elles créent un ensemble solide de sonde

d'échantillonnage.

1. Percer un trou de 3 cm (1,18 po) dans le conduit où doit passer le tube

d'échantillonnage.

2. Orienter les bouches d'air latérales dans le sens du débit d'air et

insérer le tube d'échantillonnage dans l'oriﬁce.

3. Fixer la plaque octogonale au conduit.

4. Placer un boîtier électrique standard sur la plaque octogonale

(orienter les trous de montages du boîtier verticalement) et le

ﬁxer avec deux vis métalliques nº 8.

5. Visser la plaque de montage sur le boîtier électrique.

6. Brancher le ﬁl sortant du boîtier électrique au moniteur IAQPoint.

7. Brancher l'alimentation et les sorties conformément au schéma

Détails de connexion.

8. Vériﬁer que le tube d'échantillonnage est relié à l'oriﬁce approprié

à l'arrière du moniteur IAQPoint. Appuyer sur le moniteur placé

sur la base en plastique (on doit entendre le clic d'enclenchement

des taquets de verrouillage).

*Honeywell utilise les règles de vélocité pi/minute. Toutefois, d'autres industries ou entreprises utilisent

les pieds cubiques par minute (CFM). Pour convertir de CFM à vélocité (pi/minute), diviser le débit par la

surface. Par exemple, dans un conduit de 2 pi x 4 pi où la surface est de 8 pieds carrés avec un débit d'air

de 30 000 CFM, la vélocité de l'air sera (30 000 pi cu/minute) ÷ (8 pi ca) = 3 750 pieds/minute
