Pressure Relief Procedure
Important Safety Instructions
For detailed instructions and warnings,
see sprayer manual.
Toreducetheriskofinjuryfrominjection,alwaysfollow
this procedure when instructed to relieve pressure,
stop spraying, service equipment, or install or clean
spray tip.
1. Set power/function selection switch to OFF and
unplug sprayer.
2. Turn pressure knob to lowest setting.
3. Hold gun to side of grounded metal pail. Trigger the
gun to relieve pressure.
4. Turn prime valve to PRIME.
If you suspect spray tip or hose is completely clogged, or
that pressure has not been fully relieved after following
these steps, VERY SLOWLY loosen tip guard retaining
nut or hose end coupling to relieve pressure gradually,
then loosen completely. Clear tip or hose obstruction.

Removal
1. Relieve Pressure (see cover) and unplug power
cord.
2. Remove pail hook (G) from bottom of front cover
(C).
3. Removesuctiontubeassembly(W)anddraintube
(U).
4. Remove four cover screws (B) and front cover (C).
5. Remove yoke (D) and guide rods (E). Clean if nec-
essary.
6. Disconnectpressurecontrolharness(F)fromcon-
trolboardconnector(H)atbackofdrivehousing(J).
Using fingernail or tip of small, flat-blade screw-
driver, press tab on right side of connector to
release.
7. Remove pump (M) from drive housing (J).
8. Place pump (M) on workbench or in vise.
9. Unscrewpressurecontrolswitch(P)frompump(M).
Verify that o-ring seal (R) is also removed from
pump (M).
Installation
• Read all Installation Notes on back of this page.
1. Screw new pressure control switch (P) into pump
(M), and torque to 140-160 in-lb (16-18 N•m). Do
not overtighten, damage could occur.
2. Routepressure controlharnessthrough retention
clip(K),andconnecttocontrolboardconnector(H)
at back of drive housing (J) as shown in Wiring
Detail.
3. Install pump (M) on mounting pins (S). Make sure
plastic washers (T) are between drive housing (J)
and pump and that pressure control wires are not
pinched between pump and drive housing.
4. Installyoke(D)withrodcapinslotofyokeasshown
in Rod Yoke Detail on next page.
5. Checkfinal assembly against DriveTrain Detail on
next page.
6. Install front cover (C) and cover screws (B).
7. Install pail hook (G) to bottom of front cover (C).
8. Installsuctiontubeassembly(W)anddraintube(U)
on new pump (M).
9. TurnPressureControlKnob(P)clockwiseasfaras
itwillgo.Applypressurecontrollabeltoknob.Posi-
tion as shown below.

To prevent misalignment, assemble sprayer tipped onto back of enclosure.

Take care to not pinch harness (F) between pump (M) and any part of drive housing (J) or between front cover
(C) and drive housing.
For best cover (C) alignment, tighten lower two cover screws (B) first, then top two. Torque screws to 70 to 80 in-lb
(8 to 9 N•m).
For yolk (D) installation, eccentric bearing (Y) on gear (X) must touch top of pump rod. Turn gear to move eccentric
bearing to proper height.
Ifyokeguiderods(E)dropoutofpositionduringassembly,damagewilloccurwhencoveristightened.Alwayscheck
position of guide rods before tightening cover.
Apply light coat of oil.
Apply one or two drops of thread locking adhesive (included in kit) to threads of pressure control switch (P).
Torque to 140-160 in.-lb (16-18 N•m).
