Changing the Ink Tubes

1. Make sure the GT-3 is not in the middle of any operation.

2. Select head replacement from the maintenance menu, and choose the color tube to

be replaced and press okay.

3. Remove the cartridge of the target color, and press the okay button.

4. Insert the filter cartridge to the ink cartridge slot, and then press the okay button (the

ink draining begins).Wait until the message “Turn off & please change head”

appears.

5. Turn off the GT-3.

6. Remove the back cover (6 screws) & ink bay cover (3 screws).

7. Begin to remove the brackets that hold the tubes together including the tube

connector (taking note of placement on each). Keep ready 2 tube caps to seal the

end of the tubes.

8. Remove the tube from the needle, and remove the needle (17mm wrench) and

clean/flush the needle.

9. Once the tube is completely removed, take off the spiral, middle tube holders, and

middle tubes, and tube clamp.

10.Mark the new tube according to the tube diagram. The new tube will come with a

coupling.

11.Attach the parts taken off from step 9.

12.Start attaching the new tube starting with the print head side first, then proceeding

with the middle tube holders, and ending with the needle. Take note that the middle

tube holder and middle tube should be installed opening to opening.

13.Move the carriage by hand to make sure there are no “binds” or “kinks” in the tube.

14.Press the platen button to eject the platen.

15.Press the Up/Down button to select “initial” cleaning mode, and then press the okay

button.

16.Press the Up/Down button to select the color you have replaced the tube, and then

press the okay button.

17.The initial cleaning process begins.

18.Press the cancellation button to return to the main menu.

19.Perform a nozzle check (from the test print menu) and do cleanings (normal or

powerful as needed.

20. Attach the covers from step 6.
