CAUTION - To reduce the risk of personal injury or product/property damage:

his device is designed solely for non-commercial, household use in non-invasively measuring
temperatures via an infrared sensor of the human body for persons of all ages, as well as detecting
surface temperatures of objects and ambient temperatures of surrounding areas. Do not use for
any other purpose.
•
T
his thermometer is a sensitive electronic device. Treat it carefully and do not expose it to any
sharp impacts.
• D
o not expose the thermometer to direct sunlight.
• D
o not disassemble this unit.
• T
he thermometer is NOT waterproof; keep away from water and other liquids.
• A
fter physical activity, a bath or spending time outdoors, wait approx. 30 minutes before you take
a measurement on your forehead.
• B
efore each use, ensure the sensor is undamaged; otherwise, contact customer service.

he device needs to be in the room in which the measurement is taken for at least 30 minutes
before use.
• T
his device is not intended for commercial or clinical use.

M
easure your temperature regularly to obtain your normal average temperature. If you suspect you
have a fever, simply compare your normal average temperature with the temperature measured
currently.
• D
o not self-diagnose or self-medicate on the basis of the measurements without consulting your
doctor. In particular, do not start taking any new medication or change the type and/or dosage of
any existing medication without prior approval.
• C
lean the thermometer after each use (see 7. Care and Maintenance).
• T
he manufacturer is not liable for damage resulting from improper or careless use.

hildren must not be allowed to use the device. Medical devices are not toys.

o not touch the lens with your fingers.

ead these instructions for use carefully and keep them for later use.

ackaging materials are a deadly hazard for children and can cause suocation. Remove all
packaging materials immediately and keep them away from children at all times.
NOTICE – To reduce the risk of product/property damage:

aking your temperature provides information about your current state of well-being. If you are
uncertain about interpreting the results or if the result is abnormal (e.g. fever), consult your doctor.
This also applies in the case of slight temperature changes if there are other symptoms of illness
such as agitation, severe sweating, flushed skin, fast pulse rate, tendency to collapse, etc.
•

emperatures measured with dierent thermometers cannot be compared. You should tell your
doctor or keep in mind if you are measuring for yourself what type of thermometer you use and
in which part of the body.
• P
ortable and mobile HF communication systems may interfere with this device.

Notes on electromagnetic compatibility
•
T
he device is suitable for use in all environments listed in these instructions for use, including
domestic environments.
• T
he use of the device may be limited in the presence of electromagnetic disturbances. This could
result in issues such as error messages or the failure of the display/device.
• A
void using this device directly next to other devices or stacked on top of other devices, as this
could lead to faulty operation. If, however, it is necessary to use the device in the manner stated,
this device as well as the other devices must be monitored to ensure they are working properly.
• T
he use of accessories other than those specified or provided by the manufacturer of this device
can lead to an increase in electromagnetic emissions or a decrease in the device’s electromagnetic
immunity; this can result in faulty operation.
• F
ailure to comply with the above can impair the performance of the device.
Battery Handling Safety Precautions
• U
se only the size and type of batteries specified.
• B
e sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries. Reversed batteries may cause
damage to the device.
•
D
o not mix dierent types of batteries together (e.g., alkaline and carbon-zinc or rechargeable
batteries) or old batteries with fresh ones. Always replace batteries as a simultaneous set.
• I
f the batteries in the device are depleted or the device will not be used for a long period of time,
remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.
•
D
o not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; they can overheat and rupture (follow
battery manufacturer’s directions).
• D
o not dispose of batteries in fire, batteries may explode or leak.
• C
lean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation.

emove discharged batteries from the product and dispose/recycle in compliance with all
applicable laws.

hould battery fluid leak and come into contact with your eyes or skin, immediately rinse with
plenty of clean water. Please call 911 immediately.
• B
atteries should not be taken apart, thrown in the fire or short circuited.

I
f a battery has leaked, put on protective gloves and clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth.
•
K
eep batteries away from children and pets. Batteries may be harmful if swallowed. Should a child
or pet swallow a battery, seek medical assistance immediately.

Dierent types of thermometers measure body temperature dierently. The resulting temperature
varies depending on the part of the body where the measurement is taken. Temperatures in various
parts of the body can vary up to two degrees Fahrenheit.

Ear temperature 96.8° F to 100.0° F (36.0° C to 37.8° C)
Oral temperature 96.8° F to 99.3° F (36.0° C to 37.4° C)
Rectal temperature 97.3° F to 100.0 ° F (36.3° C to 37.8° C)
NOTE:
Temperatures measured with dierent thermometers cannot be compared. You should tell
your doctor or keep in mind if you are measuring for yourself what type of thermometer you use and
in which part of the body.
