ADS-7210 LUN ZONING Replacement Process

In order to take advantage of the enhanced features now available on the DuraStor

7220SS Storage Subsystem it may be necessary to exchange your controller for an

upgraded version. These enhancements are being offered as a complementary

upgrade to Adaptec customers.

To assess whether your controller card qualifies for the free upgrade you will need to

check the revision of the controller card. A sticker on the middle of the board identifies

the updated controller as REV: E (see figure below).

If your DuraStor 7210S controller is version prior to REV: E, then you will be able to

take advantage of this free enhancement program by contacting technical support and

Adaptec will send you the latest version of the controller with the enhancement pre-

loaded.

Updates to DuraStor controller firmware are made available on the Adaptec support

website. The LUN Zoning feature is introduced in firmware version V100B06.

Customers with REV: E hardware can update controllers with the latest firmware on the

Adaptec support website.

All controllers shipped in the 7320SS enclosures have this enhanced version of the

firmware, as standard from Adaptec. Any future updates to the firmware on these

controllers can be done by downloading updates that will be posted (when available)

on the Adaptec support web site and flashing the controller firmware.
