Update notice

Note: In firmware version 1.35A, you have to set the following parameters to make the PID

macro function correctly and according to this update notice:

• 4010 SET POINT SEL: Change value (= version 1.35A default value 1) to 2.

• 4016 ACT1 INPUT: Change value (= version 1.35A default value 2) to 1.

• 4017 ACT2 INPUT: Change value (= version 1.35A default value 2) to 1.

This default value error will be fixed in firmware version 1.35B and later. You can check the drive's

firmware version by displaying the drive parameter 3301 which shows the firmware in use. You can

also find the firmware version on the adhesive label attached to the delivery package. See the figure

below.

Please notice that older firmware revisions than 1.35A do not include PID functionality.

The notice concerns ACS150 user’s manual Code: 3AUA0000069902 Rev A

Valid: From 2010-05-07 for ACS150 drives with drive

firmware version 1.35A or later, until the release of Rev

C of the manual. You can check the firmware version of

the drive on the label attached to the drive packaging.

PID Control macro (EN page 64)

This macro can be used when switching between two external control devices is

needed. To enable the macro, set the value of parameter 9902 to 6 (PID

CONTROL).

For the parameter default values, see Default parameter values with PID Control

macro (EN page 65) below. If you use other than the default connections presented

below, see chapter Electrical installation, section I/O terminals in ACS150 user’s

manual (3AFE68576032 [EN]).

Note: Parameter 2108 START INHIBIT must remain in the default setting 0 (OFF).

Macro Suitable applications

PID Control Process control applications, e.g. different closed loop control systems such as

pressure control, level control and flow control. It is possible to switch between

process and speed control: Some control signal terminals are reserved for

process control, others for speed control. One digital input selects between

process and speed control.

PID SLEEP New value. PID sleep function. See parameter group 40 PROCESS PID SET

32 SUPERVISION Signal supervision. The drive monitors whether certain user selectable

variables are within the user-defined limits. The user may set limits for speed,

current etc. Supervision status can be monitored with relay output. See

parameter group 14 RELAY OUTPUTS.

3201 SUPERV 1 PARAM Selects the first supervised signal. Supervision limits are defined by

parameters 3202 SUPERV 1 LIM LO and 3203 SUPERV 1 LIM HI.
