1. Safety Information

1.1 Important Safety Instruction

Yours and others’safety is an important matter.

This guide provides important safety measures and information

regarding the use of the product.

Please read this User Guide and

installation instructions and all other information enclosed with the

washer carefully and act accordingly.

Please note the following for your safety while using the washer:

Strictly follow installation guide

when installing the washer.

Read carefully all instructions when

using the washer.

This washer is designed for household

use only.

This product is not designed for use by

persons who have limited physical,

sensory or mental abilities and by

persons who have inadequate

experience or knowledge (children

included), provided they are supervised

or have been instructed by a responsible

person.

Do not install and place the washer

where it is exposed to rain or other

Before disposing the washer at the end

of its use, disconnect the main plug,

sever the main cable and discard along

with the plug. Destroy the lock on the

washer door to prevent children from

locking themselves in and risking lives.

rotating.

Never insert/disconnect the mains plug

with damp hands.

Do not place heavy objects above the

washer.

Do not operate the washer during gas

leaks.

Do not place the washer near gas stoves

or any fire source, or place burning

cigarettes, lit candles or other flammable

objects on/ above the washer.

The following may cause

damage to laundry items:

Do not wash water-proof items such as

rain gears, down jackets, sleeping bags

etc..

The washer is designed for household

use only, and meant for washing laundry

items that are suitable for washing and

drying. Check the washing and care

instructions on your laundry items before

washing.

Socks, lingerie and other small or

delicate laundry items are best placed in

laundry bags (not provided with the

washer) to avoid damages.

2. Installation Guide

2.1 For installation or dismantling of the

washer

When you encounter difficulties during installation or usage of the washer,

please call Whirlpool local agent to seek advice of arrange for maintenance

or repairs.

WARNING

Risk of injury during installation

This washer requires two or more persons to carry and install.

Not

following this instruction may cause spinal or other serious injuries.

1. Remove all accompanying items from the

washer drum:

Rubber water hose

bolt hole cover

hex wrench (for removing bolt hole

cover and adjusting feet of the

washer )

washing detergent measuring spoon

detergent compartment separator plate (refer to

single sheet explanation note)

2. Two persons are required to remove the protective

plastic base from the bottom of the washer.

The base must be removed before use, without which

the washer may sustain damages.

3. Remove four sets of installation kit

attached to four corners at the back of the

washer.

Each set

consists of a screw,

washer and plastic retainer (A).

Use the smaller end of the hex wrench provided, loosen the screw by about 2cm

(B).

Move hex wrench horizontally to the round opening (C).

Pull the screw, washer

and plastic retainer out at the same time.

4. Loosen the wire on the plastic retainer.

Wire can only be removed after

the kit is pulled out.

5. Plug the gap with the bolt hole cover (E)

Referring to Diagram E, insert the plastic

plug into the circular opening where the

arrow is pointing towards.

Press down the protruded portion in the

centre.

Push the bolt hole cover in to plug the

gap, following the arrow direction.

Important:

Installation kits must be removed before using the washer, or it may sustain

damages when in operation.

2.2 Electrical and water pressure requirements

1. A 2-pin plug is provided with each washer:

the plug

complies with the standards in your country, to be

connected to a power socket that complies to the standards.

Please

ensure a good functioning 20A 2-pin socket is

used with the plug.

2. Check the 220V electrical socket and ensure it

meets the voltage requirement labeled on the

provided cable.

WARNING

Electrical Shock Hazard

Please ensure the electric connection is properly

grounded.

Please do not remove the ground connection

Please do not use adapter or Ts (3-pin plug adapter)

Please do not use an extension cord.

Not following this guide may cause fire or lead to

electrical shock and harm lives.

3. A 220V/ 60Hz/ 20 amp power socket that comes with fuse wire.

Dedicated power supply, enhanced safety wire and circuit breaker are

recommended.

Please engage a qualified electrician to install.

Important Notice

If the electrical cable is spoilt, please contact Whirlpool, Whirlpool’s

local agent or qualified personnel for replacement. Please refer to

Whirlpool website for contact numbers.

Important:

Please retain the four sets of installation kit for future use, when

moving the washer.

4. A dedicated water tap for the washer is recommended.

If such

an option is not available, connect rubber water hose to any

existing tap, but ensure that a ¾inch O ring is used to secure

the tap and pipe from leaking.

Recommended water pressure is between 20 to 800 kPa (approximately 0.2 - 8.0

kgf/cm2, equivalent to 2 - 80m water pressure, which is higher than

normal water tap level). Water temperature should be between 5-30 degree °C to

ensure the normal functioning of the washer.

2.3 Installing the washer

1. Affix the rubber water hose for discharging water to the

smallest pipe with a 5cm diameter.

After removing the

curved pipe, push the rubber hose inwards and upwards.

If a

dedicated rubber water hose is not available,

retain the curved pipe for directing water discharge into water

pail or tank.

Important Notice

The curved end of the rubber water hose for

discharging water must be fixed at a height

between 0.85 to 1.2m.

If lower than 0.85m, the washer would not be able

to fill its tank with the amount of water required for

its operation.

If higher than 1.2m, it would not be able to

discharge used water.

Important Notice

Please do not connect the washer to a hot water tap, this will affect its drying

functions.

2. Using the curved end of the rubber water hose (F),

connect to the outlet at the top on the back of the washer

Secure the straight end of the rubber water hose (G) to

the top of the water tap with a screw.

Tighten till water does not seep through.

Turn on the tap.

If water

leaks through, tighten both ends of the rubber water hose.

5. Open the cover on the front bottom right of the

washer. Ensure that the filter cover is

tightened. To tighten, turn the filter cover clockwise till

it’s fully tightened. In addition, check to ensure the soft

pipe for discharging water

connected to the filter is tight as well.

6. Ensure that the washer is placed on a flat

surface, and that all four supporting feet are

even and stable to prevent and reduce vibration and noise

during operation.

7. Ensure there’s a minimum 10cm space between the

back of the washer and the wall, furniture or object it is

standing against.

Important Notice

The washer must not be placed in a spot exposed to

rain and weather elements. Do not place it on a

carpeted surface to avoid blocking its ventilation

system.

Important Notice

Please use the new rubber hose that comes with the

washer. Do not re-use old / used rubber water hose.

8. To check whether the washer is balanced, stand in front of the

machine, with hands placed on the top of the

machine, shake to see if it wobbles.

If it does wobble,

check and adjust the height of the four supporting feet to

improve on its balance.

Turn each supporting foot

clockwise to shorten its height, turn anti-clockwise to

lengthen it.

All feet must touch the floor.

Finally, using

the hex wrench accompanying the product, tighten the

nut with the larger end (H).

Vibration, noise, leaks and wear

and tear can be reduced following this method.

9. Connect the plug to a power socket.

WARNING

Fire Hazard

Please do not place the washer near fire stoves, heaters or other fire or heat

source.

Do not place lit candles, lanterns or other similar light

source.

Ignoring this warning may lead to fire hazard and risk lives.

2.4 Cleaning the Washer

Before the use of the washer, please follow the following steps to

clean the interior of the machine:

1. Add 20ml detergent to the detergent box, approximately ⅓

of the measuring cup

provided with the washer.

2. Follow the operating guide on page 16.

Choose ‘WASH’and ‘WHITES’programmes.

3. Allow the washer to complete the selected programme cycles.

Important Notice

The supporting feet provided with the washer are specially designed for the

product. Please do not replace with other feet, as this may cause unnecessary

vibration and damage to the machine.
