7. If slot is NOT obstructed by either top or bottom section of HAX rod
Using a 7/64” Allen wrench, check/confirm top coupler screw is tight
Loosen bottom coupler screw
oLower rod must rotate freely and independently of top rod
8. While gripping sides of VAX column at vertical center, firmly pull column towards
you until it rests against BOTH top and bottom hard stops on library chassis
Tighten bottom coupler screw
Check/confirm top coupler screw tight
9. Release VAX column and push column into library a few inches.
10. While gripping sides of VAX column at vertical center, firmly pull column towards
you until it rests against both top and bottom hard stops on library chassis, then
release column
Column should remain in contact with both top and bottom hard stops
If column moves away from either or both hard stops, loosen bottom coupler
screw (only) and repeat alignment Steps 7 - 10
oIf after 2 alignment attempts, column still moves away from either hard stop
when released, contact Spectra Technical Support
11. Reconnect library power cables
Risk of injury, do not place any part of your body into library with service
panels removed and library power cables connected
12. Power on library and observe robotics initialization. As part of initialization
sequence, robotics will scan a set of predetermined shelf flags

13. If robotics makes multiple attempts at scanning any individual shelf flag, this may
indicate a potential problem, perform following steps
