Installation
1-1. Overview
The BKMA-506 is the DDR control panel case kit in which the disk recorder control panel BKMA-505 is
housed. The disk recorder control panel BKMA-505 can control the multi access disk recorder MAV-
555/555A/555SS from a remote location when it is connected to the MAV-555/555A/555SS. At the
same time, the BKMA-506 enables the MAV-777 to be controlled from a remote location by installing
the control panel supplied with the multi access video disk recorder MAV-777. The DDR control panel
case kit BKMA-506 can be installed to the control console using the optional rack angle assemblies.
The BKMA-506 consists of the following unit and parts.

4. Attach the control panel and fasten the two coin
screws in the direction of the arrow.
5. Attach the case (A) in position from the front.
6. Attach the nine screws (B3 x6) in the order shown
below.

This section describes how to attach the control panel
(BKMA-505).
1. Remove the nine screws (B3 x6) and remove the case
(A) in the direction of the arrow.
2. Loosen the two coin screws.
3. Connect the cable of the control panel.

Route the cable so that it will not contact the fan.

7. Remove the screw (B4 x8) and remove the wire
clamp.
8. Connect the supplied connection cord (10 m) and
attach the wire clamp.
9. Connect the panel to the front connector of the MAV-
555/555A/555SS/777.

The panel can be connected to the MAV-555/555A/555SS/
777 when the blank panel or the control panel is attached to
the MAV-555/555A/555SS/777.
However, the control panel of the MAV-555/555A/555SS/
777 cannot be used at the same time.
.Connecting when the blank panel is attached
When the MAV-555/555A/555SS/777 with the blank
panel closed is used, put the connection cord through the
notch on the left of the blank panel as shown below.

Use the MAV-555/555A/555SS/777 while the control pan-
el is opened. Be careful not to catch the connection cord.

10. Turn on the main power and check the following
items.
.The fan on the rear of the control panel case must
rotate.
.The main unit can be operated from the control
panel.
When the panel is attached in a gentle angle

Adjust the number of pads as required.
The two pads are supplied with the BKMA-506.
When three or more pads are necessary, place an order
separately.
Pad : Sony part cord No. : 3-624-891-01 (1 piece)
11. Attach the two rubber feet with the two screws (PS
4 x14).
