Precautions to prevent media jams

Theprecautionsbelowarerecommendedtopreventthemaincausesofmediajams:mediawaveandskew.

At setting the tension bar,

Set the tension bar at the media center.

Ifthemediaisnotperpendiculartothepapertube,themediaistakenupwithskew,whichmaycausethemediawaveon

theplaten.

WithIP-7900

Besuretotakeupmediawithpaper

tubeﬂange.

Withoutpapertubeﬂange,winding

deviationmaycauseamediajam.

WithIP-7700

Inthebothmediasupplysideand

mediatake-upside,withoutaﬂange

spacer,ﬁxthescrollerﬂangetothe

mediabypressingthescrollerﬂange

asfarasitgoes.

At taking up media in LOOSE winding mode

At attaching media to the take-up paper tube

Be sure to set the media perpendicular to the take-up paper tube.

The roll spacer prevents the

paper tube from bending at

the center due to the media

weight.

Roll media

Remove the two screws and move the roll spacer to the center of the media. There

are three screwing positions.

(1) The ange spacer has teeth. Push it as far as it will go.

(2) Match the ange stopper with the claw of the ange

spacer

(3) Tighten the knob to secure the ange spacer and the

ange stopper.

Rotate the handle clockwise as far as it

will go, and then secure the scroller at

the point.

Insert the scroller into the paper tube,

determine the distance between the

media edge and the ange.

Attach the paper setting gauge’s

ange side to the ange’s spoke

side.

Do not move this roll

For outer take-up mode

Check the flange spacer’s correct position.

For inner take-up mode

- The  ange spacer should be inserted to the

position indicated by the line B.

Be careful not to deform it by applying too

much force.

(1) Slip the scroller shaft clip on

the scroller shaft.

(2) Turn the knob to x the

scroller shaft.

(3) Remove the ange spacers.
