1 Requirements
You can enhance the pump with PROFIBUS® functionality with a plug-in
module. Simply insert the plug-in module into the front of the pump. The
menu item
‘Fieldbus’
then appears in the operating menu and the PRO‐
FIBUS® symbol appears in the status bar of the display.
The pump can then be extended with PROFINET® functionality using the
DULCOnvert converter.

2 Setting up the pump
2.1 General
Familiarise yourself with the process: We describe here how to set up the
pump for PROFIBUS® mode. You will later meet the pump's
PROFINET® protocol via the DULCOnvert in the master control system.
For this reason, "PROFIBUS®" is interchangeable with "PROFINET®" at
many points.
You can set up a pump with PROFIBUS® module in the same way as the
standard pump, with the addition of bus functionality.
The pump interrupts the set-up process in the event of a pause longer
than 60 seconds.
2.2 Setting the slave address
The address is pre-set to "125". There is no need to manually set the slave
address if a master in the PROFIBUS® segment assigns the slave
addresses.

‘BUS address’
and press the
[Clickwheel]

INFORMATION!: Always set the 3-digit PROFIBUS® address to "002".
1. Set the 1st digit with the
[Clickwheel]
and press the
[Priming]
key.

2.3 Switching PROFIBUS® to active/inactive
Set the
‘Fieldbus’
to
‘active’
in the operating menu for the pump to be
controlled by the PROFIBUS®.
1. Press the
[Menu]
key.
2. Turn the
[Clickwheel]
to
‘Bus active’
and press the
[Clickwheel]
.
3. Turn the
[Clickwheel]
to
‘Active’
or
‘Inactive’
and press the
[Clickwheel]
. You’re done!
All external inputs of the pump, such as level monitoring, dosing monitor
and external control (pause, contact input, analogue input), will continue to
function while the PROFIBUS® is
‘active’
. The external inputs lead to the
expected reactions as is the case with a pump without PROFIBUS®
module. The pump transmits relevant information via the PROFIBUS® to
the master (PLC, PC etc.).
If the PROFIBUS® is set to
‘inactive’
, the settings for the operating mode
previously selected will be reloaded.
If the pump is switched to another operating mode, then the pump will stop
and can only be restarted using the
[Stop/Start]
key.

3 PROFINET® settings
1. Connect the DULCOnvert to its supply voltage.
2. Connect the DULCOnvert to the PROFINET® network - see “Instal‐
lation” chapter.
3. Select
‘Update accessible devices’
in the TIA portal under
‘Online
access’
.

4 Special features in active PROFIBUS® mode
4.1 General
INFORMATION!: The pump cannot be manually set or programmed in
PROFIBUS® mode. To do so, switch the PROFIBUS® to
‘inactive’
.
nYou can move between the continuous displays at any time, as in the
other operating modes. This does not affect the operation of the
pump.
nThe settings from other operating modes are carried over when
switching over to PROFIBUS® mode. By contrast, the settings made
via the PROFIBUS® are not saved.
INFORMATION!: The settings only apply as long as the pump is con‐
nected to the PROFIBUS®.
Only the total speed and the total number of litres continue to be
counted and saved.
nIf the pump is switched to PROFIBUS® mode, the pump will stop and
can only be restarted using the PROFIBUS®.
4.2 Displays
There are additional identifiers in the operating display when PROFIBUS®
mode is running.
Stop PROFIBUS®: the pump has been stopped using PROFIBUS®.
The master has sent the pump a corresponding telegram.
Connection error: if the pump loses its connection to the PROFIBUS®
(for instance as soon as the PROFIBUS® is stopped), then the error
symbol and the symbol flash on the main display.
4.3 LEDs on the PROFIBUS® module

5 Assembly and electrical installation
Please follow this order:
A. - Install the housing
B. - Install the PROFIBUS® cable
C. - Connect the DULCOnvert to the mains voltage
D. - Install the PROFINET® cable
E. - Properly close the housing
1. Flap open the two flaps on the left and right of the housing cover.
2. Use appropriate screws to screw the housing to a vertical base sur‐
face close to the pump using the 4 deep drill holes. Take into
account the length of the PROFIBUS® cable and the plug-in power
unit.
CAUTION!
When installed, the top should be pointing
upwards otherwise the specific IP degree of pro‐
tection will not be achieved.
Connect the PROFIBUS® cable of the DULCOnvert to the PROFIBUS®
terminal of the pump. There is no need for terminal resistors.
Connect the plug-in power unit of the DULCOnvert to the supply
voltage.
1. Unscrew the housing screws and open the cover.
2. Screw the clamping screw of the large threaded connector on the
left of the housing and remove the rubber insert.
3. Correctly thread the clamping screw the right way round onto the
PROFINET® cable.
4. Guide the PROFINET® cable into the housing and insert it into the
terminal on the converter until the cable snaps into place.
5. Place the rubber insert around the cable and press into the
threaded connector.
6. Screw the clamping screw onto the threaded connector until the
threaded connector is moisture-tight.
1. Check whether the sealing surfaces of the housing cover and the
black seal of the lower part of the housing are free of dirt.
2. Replace the housing cover onto the lower part of the housing and
fasten in place with the screws.
3. Close the two flaps on the left and right of the housing cover.

Carefully close the housing otherwise the
specified IP degree of protection will not
be achieved.

6 Operation
6.1 General
The DULCOnvert now makes the pump a subscriber in the PROFINET®.
The usage data is thus transmitted cyclically and acyclically.
6.2 GSD file
Use the GSDML file to configure the master. The GSDML file describes all
the features of the pump in PROFINET® mode, such as keywords, diag‐
nostics, modules and slots. The GSDML file can be downloaded from the
PROFINET® website and from the ProMinent website. The file name is
unique: GSDML-V2.2-Prominent-DFYa-DPL-20210929-115936.xml
6.3 Description of the data objects
INFORMATION!: The initial parameters must be transmitted from the
master so that the pump can engage in cyclic data transmission. Only
standard parametrisation is needed for this as there are no application-
specific parameters.
INFORMATION!: Please note: data is stored according to the "Big-Endian"
principle. This means that the byte with the highest-value bits is stored
first, meaning that this byte is at the lowest storage address. Refer to the
section below for an example based on "Status":
The pump status is stored as UINT32 type at the offset addresses +0 to
+3. Bytes are stored in this sequence:

The user should stop the pump
and wait for the release to change
the direction of rotation (Bit #21 in
the status). Only then can the

Start-Stop 2 BYTE Corresponds to Start-Stop switch; if Start-Stop = 0, then the pump is
stopped.
Reset 3 BYTE If the “Reset” value is switched from 1 to 0, the internal pump memory
is deleted (e.g. with batch metering) and - as far as possible - pending
errors are cleared.

Batch start 12 BYTE If the value changes from 1 to 0, batch metering is activated in batch
operation. Batches can also be activated via the contact input.
Batch memory 13 BYTE If the batch memory is activated and a new batch is triggered during
batch metering already in progress, then the remaining revolutions are
increased by the number of the new batch.
If the memory is not activated, the remaining revolutions of the batch
not yet processed are cleared and the new batch is processed.
