Do not modify or extend the

power cable.

• There is risk of fire or electric

shock.

Do not let the air conditioner

run for a long time when the

humidity is very high and a

door or a window is left open.

• Moisture may condense and

wet or damage furniture.

Be cautious when unpacking

and installing the product.

• Sharp edges could cause

injury. Be especially careful of

the case edges and the fins

on the condenser and evapo-

rator.

For installation, always con-

tact the dealer or an

Authorized Service Center.

• There is risk of fire, electric

shock, explosion, or injury.

Do not install the product on

a defective installation stand.

• It may cause injury, accident,

or damage to the product.

Be sure the installation area

does not deteriorate with age.

• If the base collapses, the air

conditioner could fall with it,

causing property damage,

product failure, and personal

injury.

Do not store or use flammable gas or combustibles near the product.

• There is risk of fire or failure of product.

Use a vacuum pump or Inert (nitrogen) gas when doing leakage test or air purge.

Do not compress air or Oxygen and Do not use Flammable gases.

Otherwise, it may cause fire or explosion.

• There is the risk of death, injury, fire or explosion.

Safety Precautions

Always check for gas (refrig-

erant) leakage after installa-

tion or repair of product.

• Low refrigerant levels may

cause failure of product.

Install the drain hose to

ensure that water is drained

away properly.

• A bad connection may cause

water leakage.

Keep level even when

installing the product.

• To avoid vibration or water

leakage.

Do not install the product

where the noise or hot air

from the outdoor unit could

damage the neighborhoods.

• It may cause a problem for

your neighbors.

Use two or more people to lift

and transport the product.

• Avoid personal injury.

Do not install the product

where it will be exposed to

sea wind (salt spray) directly.

• It may cause corrosion on the

product. Corrosion, particularly

on the condenser and evapora-

tor fins, could cause product

malfunction or inefficient opera-

tion.

If you eat the liquid from the batteries, brush your teeth and see doctor.

Do not use the remote if the batteries have leaked.

• The chemicals in batteries could cause burns or other health hazards.

Installation

Selection of the best location

Indoor unit

Install the air conditioner in the location that satis-

fies the following conditions.

• The place shall easily bear a load exceeding four

times the indoor unitʼs weight.

• Sufficient space should be available to inspect

the unit as in the figure shown on the right.

• The place where the unit is installed shall be lev-

eled.

• The place shall be suitable for easy connection of

the indoor unit with the outdoor unit.

• The place where the unit is installed should not

be affected by electrical noise.

• The place where air circulation in the room will be

good .

• There should not be any heat source or steam

near the unit

Service space

Select an installation site where the following con-

ditions are satisfied and that meets your cus-

tomer's approval.

• Where the floor is strong enough to bear the

indoor unit weight.

• Where the floor is not significantly inclined.

• Where nothing blocks the air passage.

• Where condensate can be properly drained.

• Where sufficient clearance for installation and

maintenance can be ensured.

• Where there is no possibility of flammable gas

leakage.

• Where optimum air distribution can be ensured.

• Where piping between indoor and outdoor units

is possible within the allowable limit (Refer to the

installation manual of the outdoor unit.)

• Keep the indoor and outdoor unit, power cable

and transmission wiring, at least 1m from TVs

and radios, to prevent distorted pictures and stat-

ic.(Depending on the type and source of the elec-

trical waves, static may be heard even when

more than 1 m away.)

How to open/close front panel

• Positioning of holes for fastening to the wall

(1) Open the lid of control panel(Both left and right)

(2) Remove screws(Both left and right)

(3) Lift the front panel of the unit

• To close, perform the procedure in opposite

order.

1. Use the installationmount for installation. Check

whether the wall is strong enough to bear the

weight of the unit or not. if there is a risk, rein-

force the wall before installing the unit.

2. The unit requires a minimum 100 mm clearance

on the underside for air intake. Also, ensure the

unit is level when installed so that drainage

flows smoothly. If inclined, water can leak.

3. By a state of the wall, operating sound may

become bigger.

Installation

Preparation of Piping

1. Cut the pipes and the cable.

nUse the accessory piping kit or the pipes pur-

chased locally.

nMeasure the distance between the indoor

and the outdoor unit.

nCut the pipes a little longer than measured

distance.

nCut the cable 1.5m longer than the pipe

length.

2. Burrs removal

nCompletely remove all burrs from the cut

cross section of pipe/tube.

nPut the end of the copper tube/pipe to down-

ward direction as you remove burrs in order

to avoid to let burrs drop in the tubing.

3. Flaring work

nCarry out flaring work using flaring tool as

shown below.

Firmly hold copper tube in a bar(or die) as indi-

cated dimension in the table above.

4. Check

nCompare the flared work with figure below.

nIf flare is noted to be defective, cut off the

flared section and do flaring work again.

Main cause of gas leakage is defect in flaring work. Carry out correct flaring work in the fol-

lowing procedure.

10 Indoor Unit

1. Remove the cap and turn the valve counter clockwise with the hexagon wrench.

2. Turn it until the shaft stops.

Do not apply excessive force to the shutoff valve. Doing so may break the valve body, as

the valve is not a backseat type. Always use the special tool.

3. Make sure to tighten the cap securely.

1. Remove the cap and turn the valve clockwise with the hexagon wrench.

2. Securely tighten the valve until the shaft contacts the main body seal.

3. Make sure to tighten the cap securely.

* For the tightening torque, refer to the table on the below.

Precautions when connecting pipes

• See the following table for flare part machining dimensions.

• When connecting the flare nuts, apply refrigerant oil to the inside and outside of the flares and turn

them three or four times at first. (Use ester oil or ether oil.)

• See the following table for tightening torque.(Applying too much torque may cause the flares to crack.)

• After all the piping has been connected, use nitrogen to perform a gas leak check.

CAUTION

• Always use a charge hose for service port connection.

• After tightening the cap, check that no refrigerant leaks are present.

• When loosening a flare nut, always use two wrenches in

combination, When connecting the piping, always use a spanner

and torque wrench in combination to tighten the flare nut.

• When connecting a flare nut, coat the flare(inner and outer faces)

with oil for R410A(PVE) and hand tighten the nut 3 to 4 turns as the

initial tightening.
