Before You Begin

IMPORTANT! This retroﬁt should be performed by a qualiﬁed plumber.

IMPORTANT! Provide access to the back of the bath. Removing the existing overﬂow

cover may effect the seal. Inspect the back of the bath for leaks after completing this

retroﬁt installation.

Install this kit before covering the plumbing with the ﬁnished wall material.

The retroﬁt kit is intended to replace an existing KOHLER 1-1/2″(38 mm)

stopper/drain ﬂange/toggle linkage drain with a toe-tap drain.

The existing stopper should measure approximately 1-11/16″(43 mm) in diameter

or this kit will not ﬁt.

IMPORTANT! Cette rétroinstallation doit être effectuée par un plombier qualiﬁé.

IMPORTANT! Fournir un accès à l’arrière de la baignoire. Le retrait du couvercle de

trop-plein existant pourrait affecter le joint d’étanchéité. Inspecter l’arrière la baignoire

aﬁn d’y rechercher des fuites avant de terminer cette rétroinstallation.

Installer ce kit avant de couvrir la plomberie avec le matériau de mur ﬁni.

Le kit de rétroinstallation est destiné à remplacer un drain à volet/à bascule/à

bouchon/à collerette d’écoulement KOHLER de 1-1/2″(38 mm) par un drain trou

pointe.

Le bouchon existant doit avoir un diamètre de 1-11/16″(43 mm) environ, sinon ce

kit ne pourra pas s’adapter.

Antes de comenzar

¡IMPORTANTE! Esta conversión la debe realizar un plomero caliﬁcado.

¡IMPORTANTE! Provea acceso a la parte posterior de la bañera. La desinstalación de

la tapa del rebosadero existente puede afectar el sello. Inspeccione la parte posterior

de la bañera para veriﬁcar que no haya fugas después de terminar esta instalación de

conversión.

Instale este kit antes de cubrir la plomería con el material de acabado de la pared.

1. Remove the Flange

Remove the stopper and toggle by lifting up the stopper. If the stopper catches as

it is being lifted, wiggle it as you lift.

Insert a pliers into the ﬂange and twist the ﬂange counterclockwise using the lugs.

If you have an acrylic bath, conﬁrm the ﬂoor thickness is at least 3/16″(5 mm)

before continuing.

Retirer la bride

Retirer le bouchon et le volet en relevant le bouchon. Si le bouchon est coincé

alors qu’il est relevé, le secouer pendant qu’il est relevé.

Insérer une pince dans la collerette et tourner celle-ci dans le sens contraire des

aiguilles d’une montre en utilisant les tenons.

Si la baignoire est une baignoire en acrylique, conﬁrmer que l’épaisseur du

plancher est égale à 3/16″(5 mm) au moins avant de continuer.

Retire la brida

Retire el obturador y el balancín articulado subiendo el obturador. Si el obturador

se atora al subirlo, muévalo hacia ambos lados mientras lo sube.

Inserte una pinzas en la brida y gire la brida hacia la izquierda utilizando las

orejetas.

Si la bañera es de acrílico, veriﬁque que el piso tenga un grosor de por lo menos

3/16″(5 mm) antes de continuar.

Remove the stopper/toggle.

Retirer l'arrêt/le volet.

Retire el obturador/balancín articulado. Remove the drain flange.

Retirer la bride du drain.

Retire la brida del desagüe.

2. Prepare the Area

Thoroughly clean the surface area around the drain opening and the threads in

the drain ell.

Remove the stopper assembly from the ﬂange by turning it counterclockwise.

NOTE: Take care not to cross thread the ﬂange into the drain ell.

Dry ﬁt the replacement ﬂange by threading it into the drain ell.

Préparer la surface

Bien nettoyer la surface autour de l’ouverture du drain ainsi que les ﬁlets du

coude du drain.

Retirer l’ensemble du bouchon de la collerette en le tournant dans le sens contraire

des aiguilles d’une montre.

REMARQUE: Veiller à ne pas enﬁler la collerette transversalement dans le coude du

drain.

Adapter la collerette de rechange en enﬁlant celle-ci dans le coude du drain.

Prepare el área

Limpie completamente el área de la superﬁcie al rededor de la abertura del

desagüe y las roscas del codo del desagüe.

Retire el montaje del obturador de la brida girándolo hacia la izquierda.

NOTA: Tenga cuidado de no dañar las roscas de la brida con el codo del desagüe.

Pruebe en seco la instalación de la brida de repuesto enroscándola en el codo del

desagüe.

3. Install the Drain

If the ﬂange ﬁts tightly, remove the ﬂange and apply silicone sealant between the

gasket and the bath bottom.

If the ﬂange does not ﬁt tightly, this drain is not designed for your bath. Reinstall

the original parts and choose a different drain.

Apply plumbers putty to the bottom of the ﬂange.

Thread the ﬂange into the drain ell and ﬁrmly tighten using a pliers.

Thread the stopper assembly into the ﬂange.

Fill the bottom of the bath with water and check for leaks.

If no leaks are found, ﬁll the bath the rest of the way and check for leaks.

Discard the old stopper and toggle.

Discard the old ﬂange.

Installer le drain

Si la collerette s’adapte correctement, retirer celle-ci et appliquer du mastic

d’étanchéité à la silicone entre la collerette et le bas de la baignoire.

Si la collerette ne s’adapte pas correctement, ce drain n’a pas été conçu pour votre

baignoire. Réinstaller les pièce s d’origine et choisir un drain différent.

Appliquer du mastic de plombier sur le dessous de la collerette.

Enﬁler la collerette dans le coude du drain et serrer fermement en utilisant une

pince.

Enﬁler le bouchon dans la collerette.

Remplir le fond de la baignoire avec de l’eau et rechercher des fuites.

Si aucune fuite n’est présente, remplir le reste de la baignoire et rechercher des

fuites.

Jeter l’ancien bouchon et l’ancien volet.

Jeter l’ancienne collerette.

Instale el desagüe

Si la brida queda ajustada, retire la brida y aplique sellador de silicona entre el

empaque y el fondo de la bañera.

Si la brida no queda ajustada, este desagüe no está diseñado para su bañera.

Vuelva a instalar las piezas originales y seleccione otro desagüe.

Aplique masilla de plomería al dorso de la brida.

Enrosque la brida en el codo del desagüe y apriete con ﬁrmeza utilizando unas

pinzas.

Enrosque el montaje del obturador en la brida.

Llene la parte inferior de la bañera con agua y veriﬁque que no haya fugas.

Si no encuentra fugas, llene la bañera con agua y revise que no haya fugas.

Deseche el obturador y el balancín articulado viejos.

Deseche la brida vieja.

4. Remove the Current Handle

Remove the center screw of the existing handle assembly.

NOTE: The existing screws seal the screw holes. Do not discard them.

Remove the two screws from the overﬂow hood.

Loosen the two screws securing the hold down plate.

Remove the hold down plate and tighten the screws (they must be kept in place

to ﬁll the holes or the drain will leak).

Discard the handle and overﬂow hood.

Retirer la poignée actuelle

Retirer la vis centrale de l’ensemble de l’ensemble de poignée existant.

REMARQUE: Les vis existantes scellent les trous de vis. Ne pas les jeter.

Retirer les deux vis du couvercle du trop-plein.

Desserrer les deux vis qui maintiennent la plaque en place.

Retirer la plaque de maintien et serrer les vis (elles doivent être maintenues en

place pour remplir les trous, sinon le drain aura des fuites).

Jeter la poignée et le couvercle de trop-plein.

Retire la manija actual

Retire el tornillo central del montaje de la manija existente.

NOTA: Los tornillos existentes sellan los oriﬁcios para tornillo. No los deseche.

Retire los dos tornillos de la placa del rebosadero.

Aﬂoje los dos tornillos que ﬁjan la placa de sujeción.

Retire la placa de sujeción y apriete los tornillos (deben quedar en su lugar para

tapar los oriﬁcios o el desagüe presentará fugas).

Deseche la manija y la placa del rebosadero.
