Service and Repairs
Thank you for purchasing the Kid Trax Corvette Race Car. Kid Trax wants your child to
enjoy this product for years to come. Keep these points in mind as you read this guide:
•Corvette Race Car is recommended for children 3 and up. Maximum combined
weight is 130 lbs. (59 kg).
•ADULT SUPERVISION REQUIRED!
•Battery must be charged prior to first use (see pages 3-4).
•All parts must be assembled properly (see pages 5-12).
•Batteries must be installed properly in the radio (see page 7).
•Children must follow safety rules for riding (see page 14).
•Read and explain operating instructions to your child (see pages 15-17).
•ADULTS ONLY: Recharge battery according to directions (see pages 3-4) and
maintain battery (see page 19).
About Your New Corvette Race Car
FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILD, PLEASE READ ALL WARNINGS AND
ASSEMBLY/USE INSTRUCTIONS. KEEP THIS GUIDE FOR FUTURE
REFERENCE.
•ADULT ASSEMBLY REQUIRED. The product contains small parts, which are
for adult assembly ONLY. Keep small children away when assembling.
•ALWAYS remove protective material and poly bags and dispose before
assembly.
WARNING
•
Park the Corvette indoors or cover it with a tarp to protect it from wet weather.
DO NOT
leave vehicle in sun for long periods of time or fading may occur. Store in
shade or cover with tarp.
•DO NOT
drive the Corvette in loose dirt, sand or fine gravel, which could damage
moving parts, motors or the electrical system, which could void the warranty.
•DO NOT
wash the Corvette with a hose.
DO NOT
wash the Corvette with soap and
water.
DO NOT
drive the Corvette in rainy or snowy weather. Water will damage
the motor, electrical system and battery.

Charge 12-Volt Battery Prior To First Use
YOU MUSTCHARGE THE 12-VOLTBATTERYFOR A “FULL”24 HOURS PRIOR
TOASSEMBLY. FAILURE TO CHARGE THE BATTERY AS DIRECTED WILL CAUSE
PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE BATTERY AND VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
AFTER EACH USE, OR ONCE A MONTH MINIMUM, CHARGE THE BATTERY
FOR A “FULL” 16 HOURS. DO NOT LEAVE THE BATTERY ON THE CHARGER
FOR MORE THAN 30 HOURS. READ THE FOLLOWING WARNINGS BEFORE
CHARGING THE BATTERY.
•PREVENT FIRE AND ELECTRIC SHOCK:
-
Use ONLY batteryand charger provided by manufacturer. Use of
the wrong type of battery for charger could cause a fire or
explosion.
-DO NOT use the battery or charger for any other product. Overheating,
fire or explosion could occur.
-
NEVER modify the electric circuit system. Alterations could cause
ashock, fire or explosion.
-DO NOT allow any type of liquid on the battery or its components.
-Explosive gases arecreated during charging. DO NOT charge near heat
or flammable materials. Charge in a well-ventilated area ONLY.
-Charge the battery in a dry area ONLY.
•DO NOT open the battery. Battery contains lead acid and other materials
that are toxic and corrosive.
•DO NOT open the charger. Exposed wiring and circuitry inside case may
cause electric shock.
•ONLY ADULTS may handle or charge the battery. NEVER allow child to
handle or charge the battery.Batteryis heavy and contains lead acid
(electrolyte).
•DO NOT drop the battery. Permanent damage to the battery could occur
or cause serious injury.
•Before charging the battery, check for wear or damage to the battery,
charger and the connectors. DO NOT charge the battery if any damage to
parts has occurred. Replace with manufacturer’s parts ONLY.
•DO NOT allow the battery to drain completely. Recharge the battery after
each use or once a month if not used regularly.
•DO NOT charge battery upside down.
•ALWAYS secure the battery with the bracket. Battery can fall out and
injure a child if vehicle tips over.

ONLY AN ADULT CAN CHARGE AND RECHARGE THE BATTERY.
See page 19 for battery maintenance and page 21 for recycling information.
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the battery from the vehicle for charging.
However, if the adapter cord will not safely reach a 120-volt wall outlet, the battery
can be removed for charging (see page 20).

Plug the charger into a standard 120-volt wall
outlet. Light on charger will glow RED.
The charger may feel warm during charging.
This is normal and not a cause for concern.

Use ONLY the Kid Trax 12-volt
charger included with the Corvette
(Input: AC120V–, 0.5A, 60Hz
Output: +15VDC, 1.5A).
NOTE:
No metal contact
intended to be in this area.
Correct as shown.
Disconnect Charger from 12-Volt Battery
•
Unplug the charger from the wall outlet.
•
Unplug the charger from the 12-volt battery.
•
Plug the battery connector into the battery.
•Lower the hood completely.
Connect Charger to 12-Volt Battery
1.Open the hood.
2.Locate 12-volt battery.
Unplug the
battery connector from the

1.Slide a large washer onto the axle.
NOTE: Washer may already be on
the axle.
Locate a wheel marked “FRONT”.
Slide a wheel onto the axle with
“FRONT” facing toward vehicle.
Then slide a wheel cover onto the
axle, fitting the three locating pins
into the holes.

2.Slide a small washer onto the axle.
Attach a nut onto the axle and
tighten snugly with the nut wrench
until you can see about two threads
on the axle. Do not overtighten.
Repeat steps 1 and 2
to attach the other
front wheel.

1.Locate a wheel marked “REAR”.
Slide a wheel onto the axle with
“REAR” facing toward vehicle. Fit
the wheel into the gear box.
NOTE: For the rear wheels, a large
washer is NOT needed before sliding
awheel onto the axle.
Then slide a wheel cover onto the
axle, fitting the three locating pins
into the holes.

1. ONLY AN ADULT MAY INSTALL
THE BATTERIES. Locate the
battery compartment under the
radio. Remove the faceplate by
turning both knobs counter-
clockwise until it comes off.
Set aside.
Install AA Batteries for FM Radio

3.Insert three (3) AA alkaline batteries
(not included).
Reattach the battery cover with the
screw. Do not overtighten. Reattach
the faceplate by turning both knobs
clockwise.

2.Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove
the screw on the battery cover. Open
the battery cover.
• DO NOT mix old and new batteries.
• DO NOT mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable
(nickel-cadmium) batteries.
WARNING
NOTE: See page 18 for instructions about using the radio.

1. Install Dash:
Lower dash into slots
on vehicle and guide
steering column into
steering hole in dash
and out the front of the
dash as shown.
Brackets should be
inserted completely
into slots.

2.Install Steering Wheel:
Hold the steering wheel
near front of dash with
the logo oriented right
side up. Guide the
steering wheel cable
into the steering
column hole. Align the
steering wheel holes
with the holes on the
steering shaft.

3. Connect to Steering
Wheel Shaft:
Locate hardware bag
labeled “C” (Figure 3).
Insert screw into
steering column and
tighten nut securely. Do
not overtighten.

4. Connect two sets of
Cables:
Locate the steering
wheel cable and the
main wire harness
cable. Fasten connector
ends securely.
NOTE: If the
connectors don’t fit
easily,flip one over and
try again.

6. ToInstall Mirrors:
Press left and right
mirror into holes on
body.
TIP: Turn mirrors
inward so that they will
be out of the way
during the next step.

5.Guide the five tabs on
the windshield into
the holes on the body.
Press windshield
down firmly.
