General Safety Instructions
Caution
This equipment emits RF energy in the ISM (Industrial, Scientific, Medical) band. Make sure that all
medical devices used in proximity to this equipment meet appropriate susceptibility specifications for
this type of RF energy.
Connecting power with reverse polarity or using the wrong type of power supply may damage the
equipment. Make sure that the power supply is connected correctly and of the recommended type.
This equipment contains parts that can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). Use ESD
prevention measures to avoid damage.

Intended Use
The intended use of this device is as a communication interface and gateway. The device receives and
transmits data on various physical levels and connection types.
If this equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection provided by the
equipment may be impaired.
Installation
The numbering refers to the illustrations at the top of this document.
DIN Rail Mount (1)
1. Hang the unit on the rail and pull the bottom tab downwards, then press the unit towards the rail and
release the tab.
2. To remove, pull the bottom tab downwards to release the unit from the rail.
The equipment must be electrically grounded through the DIN rail for EMC compliance. Make sure that
the equipment is correctly mounted on the rail and that the rail is properly grounded.
Power Connector (2)
The power supply of the device must be a grounded circuit PELV (connection between functional earth and
ground). The power supply must be a limited power source according to the EN60950-1 or must be provided
with an anti-surge fuse of 2 A.
