Whenusingelectricalappliances,basicprecautionsshouldalwaysbefollowed

toreducetheriskofre,electricshock,andinjurytopersons,includingthe

following:

1. Readallinstructionsbeforeusingtheelectricreplace.

2. Theheaterishotwheninuse.Toavoidburns,donotletbareskintouch

hotsurfaces.Thetrimaroundtheheateroutletbecomeshotduringheater

operation.Keepcombustiblematerials,suchasfurniture,pillows,bedding,

papers,clothes,andcurtainsatleast3feet(0.9m)fromthefrontofthe

unit.

3. Extremecautionisnecessarywhenanyheaterisusedbyornearchildren

orinvalidsandwhenevertheunitisleftoperatingandunattended.

4. Alwaysunplugtheelectricreplacewhennotinuse.

5. Donotoperatewithadamagedcordorplug,oriftheheaterhas

malfunctioned,oriftheelectricreplacehasbeendroppedordamaged

inanymanner.Returnreplacetoanauthorizedservicefacilityfor

examination,electricalormechanicaladjustment,orrepair.

6. Donotuseoutdoors.

7. Theelectricreplaceisnotintendedforuseinbathrooms,laundryareas

andsimilarindoorlocations.Neverlocateheaterwhereitmayfallintoa

bathtuborotherwatercontainer.

8. Donotinstallthereplacedirectlyoncarpetorasimilarsurfacewhich

mayrestrictaircirculationbeneaththeunit.

9. Donotrunthecordundercarpeting.Donotcovercordwiththrowrugs,

runners,orthelike.Arrangecordawayfromtrafcareaandwhereitwill

notbetrippedover.

10. Todisconnecttheunit,turnthecontrolsoff,thenremovetheplugfromthe

outlet.

11. Donotinsertorallowforeignobjectstoenteranyventilationorexhaust

openingasthismaycauseanelectricshockorre,ordamagetothe

heater.

12. Topreventapossiblere,donotblockairintakeorexhaustinany

manner.Donotuseonsoftsurfaces,likeabed,whereopeningsmay

becomeblocked.

13. Allelectricalheatershavehotandarcingorsparkingpartsinside.Donot

useinareaswheregasoline,paint,orammableliquidsareusedorstored

orwheretheunitwillbeexposedtoammablevapors.

14. Donotmodifythisreplace .Useitonlyasdescribedinthismanual.Any

otherusenotrecommendedbythemanufacturermaycausere,

electricshockorinjurytopersons.

15. Toreducetheriskofelectricshock,thisappliancehasapolarizedplug

(onebladeiswiderthantheother).Theplugwilltinapolarizedoutlet

onlyoneway.Iftheplugdoesnottfullyintheoutlet,reversetheplug.If

itstilldoesnott,contactaqualiedelectriciantoinstalltheproperoutlet.

Donotchangethepluginanyway.Avoidtheuseofanextensioncord.

Extensioncordsmayoverheatandcauseariskofre.Ifyoumustusean

extensioncord,thecordmustbeNo.14AWGminimumsizeandratedno

lessthan1875Watts.

16. Donotburnwoodorothermaterialsintheelectricreplace.

17. Donotstriketheglassfront.

18. Alwaysuseacertiedelectricianshouldnewcircuitsoroutletsbe

required.

19. Alwaysuseproperlygrounded,fusedandpolarizedoutlets.

20. Disconnectallpowersupplybeforeperforminganycleaning,maintenance

orrelocationoftheunit.

21. Whentransportingorstoringtheunitandcord,keepinadryplace,free

fromexcessivevibrationandstoresoastoavoiddamage.

Thissectionprovideseasystepbystepinstructionsforselectinga

locationandpreparingthesitetoinstallthereplaceinto:

!NOTE: Thereplaceinsertcomescompletelyassembledand

wired.Sometoolsmayberequiredtopreparethesiteand

assembly/installthetrim.

 Thedimensionsofthereplaceinsertare26inches(66cm)wideX

22½inches(57.2cm)highX12inches(30.5cm)deep(Figure2).

Youshouldallow¼inch(0.6cm)aroundthereplaceinsertfor

easeofinstallation.

 Thisreplacedoesnotrequireanyventing.

CAUTION: Clearance for air circulation beneaththereplaceinsert

isprovidedbythree(3)rubberfeet(Figure2).Do not install the

replace insert directly on carpet or similar surfaces which

may restrict air circulation.Ifinstallingthereplaceinacarpeted

area,placeaone-piece,solid,atsurfaceunderthereplace

insert.Ensurethatallthree(3)oftheinsert’sfeetrestsecurelyon

thissurface.

Existing Fireplace

1. Sealalldraftsandventswithnon-brousinsulationmaterialsto

preventchimneydebrisfromfallingintothereplaceinsert.Donot

installintoanexistingreplacethatispronetoleaksordampness.

2. Capthetopofthechimneyuetopreventrainfromentering.

3. Planyourelectricalpowersupply(refertoNOTE1).

4. Thepowercordcanrunalongthefrontofthehearthtoanoutlet

nearthereplace(Figure3).

!NOTE 1: A15Amp,120Voltcircuitisrequired.Adedicatedcircuit

ispreferredbutnotessentialinallcases.Adedicatedcircuitwillbe

requiredif,afterinstallation,thecircuitbreakertripsorfuseblows

awayfromdrapes,furnitureandhightrafc.

!NOTE: Thereplaceinsertmustbeinstalledonahardsurface.

2. Placethereplaceinthedesiredlocationtoseehowitwilllookin

theroom.

3. Markthedesiredlocationontheoorandstorethereplaceina

safe,dryanddustfreelocation.

4. Usestudstoframeanopeningof26½incheswideX23inches

high(67.3cmwideX58.4cmhigh)allowingadepthof12inches

(30.5cm)(Figure4).

5. Planyourelectricalpowersupply(refertoNOTE1).

Option #1 -Thepowercordcanbeleadfrombehindthetrimand

alongthewalltoanoutletnearthereplace(Figure5).

Option #2 -Anewoutletcanbeinstalledinsidethenewframe

construction(ifallowedbyelectricalcode)(Figure6).

Fireplace Insert Installation

Thissectionprovideseasystepbystepinstructionsforinstallationof

yourreplace.

1. InstallTrimKittofrontofreplacebypositioningtrimthenpushing

straightforwardagainstthereplace.

2. MakesuretheunitisswitchedOff(refertoOperatinginstruction

section).

3. Plugthereplaceintoa15Amp/120Voltoutlet.Ifthecorddoes

not reach you may use a extension cord rated for a minimum of

1875Watts.

4. Pushthereplaceintoplacesothatthetrimisagainstthenished

MantelSurroundorwallsurface(Figure7)

5. Level,ifrequiredwithwoodshims(notincluded)(Figure8).

WARNING: Ensurethepowercordisnotinstalledsothatitis

pinched or against a sharp edge and ensure that the power cord is

stored or secured to avoid tripping or snagging to reduce the risk of

re,electricshockorinjurytopersons.
