1. ABOUT THE CONTROLLERS
Thank you for purchasing DIG’s LEIT1™ambient light powered irrigation controller.
The LEIT1™is a one-station, ambient light (solar) powered smart controller that uses a
patented energy management system to power the controller day and night. The controller
requires no batteries, AC power or direct sunlight and can be installed above grade anywhere
in the landscape.
The controller employs the latest in water conservation features and can be pre-set to
automatically adjust the watering durations according to regional seasonal changes.

4. VALVE ADAPTER INSTALLATION
1. Shut off the main water supply
2. Remove the existing solenoid if applicable.
NOTE: If adapting to an IRRITROL valve, remove the solenoid but leave the existing
solenoid adapter installed.
3. Select the appropriate solenoid adapter associated with the valve. (see chart A)
4. Screw the adapter into the valve bonnet solenoid thread by hand; tighten with pliers if
necessary, but do not over tighten.
5. Thread the solenoid clockwise into the adapter. Hand tighten only.
6. Turn the main water supply on and pressurize the valve; the valve may discharge water
momentarily but should then shut off.
7. Test the controller and the installation by pressing the manual button on the
controller, or review the instructions on how to perform a manual run via the
program. To turn on the valve manually using the solenoid, lift the controller from
the solenoid and turn the solenoid counterclockwise 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn, or until you
hear or see water flowing through the valve. To turn the water off, turn the solenoid
clockwise 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn and wait for the a few seconds for the valve to close.
8. Program the controller.

5. VALVE INSTALLATION
The LEIT1™controller with a valve features a female-threaded inlet and outlet. The controller is
generally installed above the ground to allow it to power itself using light.
Operating pressure: 10 to 125 PSI (.7 to 8.6 BAR)
Recommended operating pressure: 10 to 80 PSI (.7 to 5.5 BAR)
NOTE: Wrap all fittings with Teflon tape.
Do not use pipe cement on the valve as this will damage the valve and void the warranty.
Install PVC male adapters (or nipples) into the valve inlet and outlet by turning them clockwise
until hand tight. Make sure when wrapping fittings with Teflon tape that no excess gets into
the internal assembly.
Tighten the fittings with a wrench, but do not over tighten.
NOTE: Additional control valves must not be installed downstream of the valve.
Consult local codes for specific details.
1. Flush the main line until water runs clear before installation.
2. Shut off the main water supply.
3. Install the controller with inline valve directly to the main line and above the ground.
The arrow on the valve body indicates direction of water flow and the solenoid with the
controller should be on the downstream side of the valve.
4. Turn the main water supply on and pressurize the system; the valve may discharge water
momentarily and then shut off.
5. The valve features manual bleed that can be used via the solenoid, which enables the valve
to be operated without the use of the controller.
To turn the valve on via the solenoid, lift the controller from the solenoid and turn the
solenoid counter clockwise ½ to ¾ of a turn, or until you hear or see water flowing through
the valve. To turn the water off, turn the solenoid clockwise ½ to ¾ of a turn and wait for
the a few seconds for the valve to close.
6. Program the controller.

6. PROGRAMMING
