About this manual
This manual is a comprehensive guide that describes how you handle the CS3004 Fire
Alarm System, function by function.
All the installed CS3004 Fire Alarm Systems are customer unique, each system
consists of a central unit, one or several MX3000 Maxi Repeater Units, MN3000 Mini
Repeater Units, loops, sections, section units, etc. Your fire alarm system may include
one central unit or it may include a combination of a central unit, MX3000 and
MN3000. All three units are described in this manual. The function of the central unit
and the MX3000 are very similar. Physically, for the user, the two units look the same.
To help you to learn and work with the system efficiently this manual is organised by
tasks, beginning with the most important task, FIRE, moving on to faults and
thereafter describing all the remaining functions of the system. Chapter 11 includes a
summary of all keys, LED’s and the three displays. All the fault codes are listed in
Appendix 1.
MX3000 Maxi Repeater Unit
Compared to the central unit only a few functions are not implemented in MX3000,
these are
•Date, chapter 7
•Time, chapter 7
•Change number of section units, chapter 7
If a function is not implemented in MX3000 you will find the text,

first in the section describing the function.
MN3000 Mini Repeater Unit
The MN3000 is a mini repeater unit that can only display one fire alarm at a time. The
MN3000 is described in a separate chapter, Chapter 12.

A fire alarm is detected in the system.
•Press ALARM MUTE, to mute and acknowledge the fire alarm.
The FIRE indicator stops blinking and turn over to steady red. The audible fire alarm
is temporarily silenced when the door is opened and it is permanent silenced when
the ALARM MUTE is pressed. The function of the internal buzzer is defined at the
installation of the fire alarm system.
The section number and detector address in alarm are displayed on the fire alarm
panel and on the alpha-numeric display on the operating panel.

The section number and the detector address are displayed on the first line and
additional information about this unit is displayed on the second line, if provided.
The back-light in the display remains lit until all fire alarms in the system are reset
and all fault are muted in the system.

There are more than one fire alarm in the system.
•Press ALARM MUTE, to mute and acknowledge all the fire alarms.
The FIRE and ALARMS IN QUEUE indicators stop flashing and turn over to steady
red when all the fire alarms are muted. The audible fire alarm is temporarily silenced
when the door is opened and it is permanently silenced when the ALARM MUTE is
pressed.
The section number and detector address in alarm are displayed on the fire alarm
panel and on the alpha-numerical display on the operating panel.

The address of the first fire alarm is displayed on the first line and additional
information about the alarming unit is displayed on the second line, if provided. The
address of the latest fire alarm is displayed on the third line and additional
information about this unit is displayed on the fourth line, if provided. The TEXT
menu disappears from the fourth line when there is more than one fire alarm in the
system, but you can still activate the F4 key, press F4.
•Press ALARMS IN QUEUE to display the next fire alarm.
The second fire alarm address is displayed both on the fire alarm panel and on the
alpha-numerical display. The fire alarm is presented on the two first lines on the
display. Five seconds after you have pressed ALARMS IN QUEUE the first fire alarm
is displayed again.
If you press ALARMS IN QUEUE when the last fire alarm is displayed the first fire
alarm is displayed again and the ALARMS IN QUEUE indicator goes out for 5
seconds.

•Press ALARM MUTE, to mute and acknowledge the fire alarms.

on the fire alarm panel and on the alpha-numerical display on the operating panel.

The section number and detector address are displayed on the first line and additional
information about the alarming unit is displayed on the second line. If there are more
than one unit in alarm the addresses of these alarms will not be automatically
displayed. You can display one at a time by pressing the ALARMS IN QUEUE key
repeatedly.

You can only reset one fire alarm at a time, the fire alarm that is displayed.
•Press ALARMS IN QUEUE repeatedly to select the appropriate fire alarm.
•Press ALARM RESET to reset the fire alarm.
The system is trying to reset the fire alarm.

RESETTING FIRE ALARM MENU
The fire alarm is reset Two things happens when a fire alarm is reset, it disappears from the display and it is
moved from the All list to the Fire alarm history list. The next fire alarm is displayed
after five seconds or if there are no more fire alarms the system returns to normal
status, Salwico CS3004 is displayed.

ORDER NOT DONE, DETECTOR ALARMED MENU
The reason to why the fire alarm is not reset is displayed on line three. The indicator
SECTION/DET NOT RESET on the fire alarm panel comes on. The display returns
to normal status, Salwico CS3004 is displayed. The fire alarm is now a not resettable
fire alarm and it can be listed in two different ways:
1. You can list the not resettable fire alarms by using the ALARMS IN QUEUE
key if all fire alarms are muted and reset, and all faults are muted.
2. Use the function. Press the LIST key on the operating panel and select the
Not reset list.
