1 SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS
Always respect the safety instructions marked by the symbol
opposite as well as those included in the manual.
1.1 Utilisation
The 8030 sensor is designed for measuring the flow of neutral or slightly
aggressive solid free liquids.
There will be no manufacturer warranty for damages caused by
unexpected handling or wrong usage of the device.The warranty on the
device becomes invalid if any modification or change is made on the
device.
The device should only be installed and repaired by specialist
staff. If any difficulties may occur with the product during
installation, please contact your nearest Bürkert sales office for
assistance.

1.2 Precautions at installation and commissioning
- Always ensure the materials in contact with the medium to measure are
chemically compatible with this medium.
- To clean the device, only use chemically compatible products.
- Protect the sensor from electromagnetic perturbations, the rain and
ultraviolet radiations.
When dismounting the sensor from the pipe, take all the
necessary precautions linked to the process.

2.1 Design and measuring principle
The 8030 flow sensor is made up of an SE30 electronic module and an
S030 fitting with integrated paddle-wheel.
The sensor detects the rotation of the paddle-wheel which generates a
signal whose frequency f is proportional to the flow rate Q, according to
the following formula:
f = K.Q
f = frequency in Hertz (Hz)
K = K factor specific to each S030 fitting, in pulse/litre
Q = flow rate in litre/second

Order code table for SE30 electronic modules
Following versions of the electronic module are available:
- either with 2 pulse outputs (Hall effect sensor with 2 transistor outputs,
NPN and PNP),
- either with 1 sinus output (coil)
- either with 1 pulse output (Low Power Hall effect sensor with 1 NPN
transistor output).
The electrical connection is carried out via a cable plug
EN 175301-803 (type 2508).

Accuracy ≤ ±0.5 % of the full scale*, with calibration on site (for example by using the Teach-in
feature of a 8025 transmitter in a separate version)
≤ ±(0.5 % of the full scale* + 2.5% of the measured value), with standard K factor
* full scale = 10 m/s
These values have been determined in the following reference conditions: medium = water, water and
ambient temperatures = 20 °C, min. upwards and downwards distances respected, appropriate pipe
dimensions.
