• Dispose of the old batteries properly. Do not dispose of the old batteries
in a fire.
• Do not leave the batteries where a child or pet could play with or swallow
them. If the batteries are swallowed, contact a physician immediately.
• The batteries may explode if mistreated. Do not attempt to recharge or
disassemble the batteries.
• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type. Do not mix old and
new batteries, different types of batteries, or rechargeable batteries of
different capacities.
Choking hazard — small parts. Not for children under 3 years.
Batteries must be installed by an adult.

InseRTIng baTTeRIes (dave)
1. Using a small screwdriver, remove the battery compartment cover
on the bottom of Dave.
2. Insert 3 AAA batteries (included) according to the polarity indicators inside
the compartment.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding the two tabs on the cover
into the slots at the bottom of the compartment and replacing the screw.
InseRTIng baTTeRIes (RemoTe)
1. Using a small screwdriver, remove the battery compartment cover
on the back of the remote.
2. Insert 2 AAA batteries (included) according to the polarity indicators inside
the compartment.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding the two tabs on the cover
into the slots at the bottom of the compartment and replacing the screw.
PlacIng dave
1. Attach the SUCTION CUP to the cover of the BATTERY COMPARTMENT
on the bottom of Dave.
2. Press the SUCTION CUP to any flat, smooth surface to secure.

1. After installing the batteries in both the remote and Dave, slide Dave’s switch to ON.
Sit him on the edge of a table or counter and secure him with the suction cup.
2. Repeatedly press any of the buttons on the lower half of the remote to get
Dave to listen to his remote. You will know he is paying attention when he
says or does something. You need to be within 3 feet of Dave with the remote
for the best response.
3. To watch a sample of Dave’s action, slide the switch to DEMO and he will make
various sounds and movements for you.
4. To turn Dave off slide the switch to OFF.
Hey, just so you know: If you haven’t asked Dave to do anything for 60
seconds or so, he will get bored. He will try to get your attention by making
random noises at 30 second intervals, and if you don’t respond he will fall
asleep and start snoring after 2.5 minutes… To wake him up—just press
his tummy!
Note: The remote will not wake him up and will not work until you
press Dave’s tummy.

SHORTCUTS TO CRAZY ACTIONS & SILLY SOUNDS
Press the CONVERSATION button twice in fast succession
and Dave will nod his head or beat the conga drum...
Press the PUPPET button twice in fast succession and
Dave will go crazy or totally freak out!
Press the GREETING button twice in fast succession
and Dave will wave or wave like mad...
Press the ACTION button twice in fast succession and
Dave will burp or (gasp!) fart...
DID YOU KNOW? DAVE IS TICKLISH!
Press Dave’s tummy and he will giggle and laugh.

Press and press 1 on the keypad once – Dave will nod his head
Press and press 1 on the keypad once or again – Dave will play the conga drums
Press and press 2 on the keypad once – Dave will hold his hand out for a high-five
Press and press 2 on the keypad once or again – Dave will slap down a high-five
Press and press 3 on the keypad once – Dave will shake his head
Press and press 3 on the keypad once or again – Dave will yawn like he’s bored
Press and press 4 on the keypad once – Dave will hold his hand out for a handshake
Press and press 4 on the keypad once or again – Dave will shake your hand up and down
In PUPPET mode:
Press and press 1 on the keypad once – Dave will look left
Press and press 1 on the keypad once or again – Dave will double-take left
Press and press 2 on the keypad once – Dave will look right
Press and press 2 on the keypad once or again – Dave will double-take right
Press and press 3 on the keypad once – Dave will look down
Press and press 3 on the keypad once or again – Dave will fall asleep
