A. Physical nomenclature
1. Power Button
- Used to power on / power off the KBD-1010-R
2. DC12V power port
- Connect a DC 12V 3A power supply to this port in order to provide power to the keyboard
3. Firmware Upgrade interface button
- Only engaged during firmware upgrade process
4. Kensington Security Slot
- Security lock may be applied here to physically secure the keyboard in place
5. Tally / Contact
- Tally control interface
6. RS-232 RJ-45 port
- Interface for connecting cameras using RS232 control protocol
7. IP RJ-45 port
- Interface for connecting the KBD-1010-R to the LAN (Data / POE)
8. RS422 (B) RJ-45 port
- Interface for connecting “B” set of cameras using RS-422 control protocol
9. RS422 (A) RJ-45 port
- Interface for connecting “A” set of cameras using RS-422 control protocol
10.USB port (for firmware upgrade only)
- Interface for updating firmware

B. Initial Setup
1. Connect DC12V / 3A power supply (barrel connector) to the power port and plug the power
cord in to a working standard electrical outlet.
2. Connect the IP port on the back of the keyboard to your LAN using an Ethernet cable
(CAT5 or CAT6. Ends should be terminated as a standard straight-through 568-B pinout)
3. Power the keyboard on by pressing the power button inwards until it clicks and rests in the
pressed “ON” position
C. Physical Connection to RS232 cameras
1. Connect RJ-45-to-RS232 adapter to the RS232 port
2. Connect the “OUT” mini din of the keyboard’s adapter to the “IN” mini din of the camera’s
adapter using a Male-to-Male Mini Din connector cable
D. Physical Connection to RS-422 cameras
1. Connect RJ-45-to-RS422 adapter to either of the available RS422 ports (A or B)
2. Connect the control cables between the phoenix connector and the camera following
these diagrams:

E. Configure IP Address of Keyboard
1. Press the Setup button
2. Use the P/T Speed dial to move the cursor to IP Configuration and then click the P/T
Speed dial downward to enter the IP Configuration menu
Rotate P/T Speed dial to move cursor
a. Choose Type: STATIC or DHCP
b. IP Address: If using STATIC, set the IP Address by rotating the P/T Speed dial to
move between the octets, and then use the Number Keypad to enter the desired
values. Press the Zoom Speed dial downward like a button to save the STATIC IP
Address
c. Rotate the P/T speed dial to move the cursor down to Exit and press the P/T Speed
dial to exit the IP Configuration menu.
d. Scroll down to Exit and click the dial again to exit to the main interface

Rotate the Zoom Speed dial to adjust a value Press the Zoom Speed dial downward to save

F. Adding Cameras
a. Adding Manually
1. Press the Setup button
2. Select the Camera Setting option
▪Camera ID: Adjust the CAMXXX value using the Zoom Speed dial
▪Title: Use the Alphanumeric keypad to enter a title for the selected camera
(use the ESC key as a backspace)
▪Protocol: Use the Zoom Speed dial to select the protocol that will be used to
control this camera
Note: If ONVIF is selected, you will be required to enter an IP address and the
Username / Password for the camera
If VISCAIP is selected, you will be required to enter an IP address
If any other protocol is selected, you will be required to enter a baud rate
After entering each camera’s Title, Protocol (and protocol-specific
information), and baud rate, click Zoom Speed dial to save the configuration
to the keyboard’s memory
▪Exit to the main menu after setting up each camera’s configuration
b. Scanning / Automatic
1. Press the Search button
2. Select:
▪VISCA-IP to search the network for available VISCA over IP cameras
▪ONVIF-IP to search the network for available ONVIF cameras
3. Use the P/T Speed dial to scroll through discovered devices
4. Select the desired device, and assign it a CAMID and a Title
5. Press the Zoom Speed dial to save
6. Exit to main menu
