Power Adapter
To ensure that the plug on the power adapter doesn’t get disconnected from the DC Power Connector
on the back panel of the FriendlyNet switch, we recommend that you use the twist-tie included with the
power adapter to tie any excess cable from the power adapter to the cable tie anchor loop located next
to the DC Power Connector.
Note: The FriendlyNet 8+2 Ethernet Switch does not have a power switch. The power
is automatically turned on as soon as the power adapter is connected to the
FriendlyNet 8+2 Ethernet Switch and to a power outlet.

The manual addendum contains additions to page 2-14 of the User’s Manual.
Packet Forwarding
The FriendlyNet switch acts as a high-speed selective bridge between individual segments. Port #9 or
the Uplink port can be used as a backbone port to connect to the corporate networks. Packets received
on the backbone port with an unknown destination address will be filtered out, preserving the MAC
address table. The processing of packets received by the FriendlyNet switch is shown in the table
below.
