Before installing and operating this unit, read this manual carefully.
SURFACE
This is a device for professional use and may only be used by persons who are aware of
the dangers of UV-C radiation and who are suciently familiar with the following safety
issues. This information can be found in the manual;
• Personal protective equipment
• Health and safety
• Use of the UV-C unit
• Hazard caused by unintentional exposure to UV-C in working areas
• First aid for UV-C exposure
WORKING
The device generates radiation with a wavelength of 253.7 nm by means of a UV-C lamp. This radiation
has an inactivating effect on bacteria, viruses, algae and fungi. The UV-C unit ensures an efficient and
environmentally friendly disinfected surface. The UV-C radiation inactivates bacteria, viruses and other
micro-organisms and thus prevents further reproduction. The UV-C unit is equipped with a built-in
electronic ballast. This ballast ensures optimum lamp performance. In addition, the irradiation hood
ensures safety and reflection of the UV-C radiation, increasing efficiency. Thanks to the UV-C unit, the
surface will be disinfected in an efficient and safe way.

IMPORTANT:

Radiation from this UV-C lamp is
dangerous for the eyes and skin.
Always disconnect the unit from the
power supply during maintenance!
Risk of electric shock. Connect only to
an earthed type of socket protected
by an earth leakage switch (ALS).
The casing and UV-C lamp remain warm
for a long time after the device is switched
off. Cooling time at least 10 minutes.
Wear gloves to protect the UV-C lamp
from fingerprints. Fingerprints may burn
into the UV-C lamp during operation,
impairing the disinfection performance.
Wear covering clothing to protect all skin
from UV-C radiation. Also remember to
protect the scalp with a cap or hat.
Always wear the supplied face
mask when using this product.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
This device generates harmful UV-C radiation. Direct contact is harmful to the eyes and skin. Check
the operation of the UV-C lamp only with protected equipment. Everyone involved in work on or
with the UV system must be aware of the dangers and harmfulness of UV-C radiation.
1. Warning: The use of this product is not suitable for children and/or persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they are supervised or instructed in the use of the device by a person responsible for
their safety.
2. Warning: To reduce the risk of electric shock, replace damaged equipment immediately.
3. To reduce the risk of electric shock, the appliance must be handled with care. As experience
and knowledge are required, service activities should always be performed by an authorised/
recognised technician.
4. Never touch the device if it falls into water! Unplug the device from the power outlet. If the plug
and/or socket have also become wet, isolate the socket from the power supply before removing
the plug. Disconnect the connection cable before removing the unit from the water. Since
electrical components are damaged by water and therefore become unsafe, the device should
be presented to an authorised/recognised technician for inspection.
5. Do not switch on the unit if it has been dropped by transport or otherwise, if a production fault
exists or the device has been damaged by any other cause (this applies in particular to the UV-C
lamp!).
6. Always connect the device to an undamaged and earthed electrical socket equipped with a
residual current device.
7. Always unplug the appliance when it is not in use and/or during (cleaning) work. To remove the
plug from the wall socket, always pull on the plug itself. Never pull on the cable.
8. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not insert or unplug the power plug with wet hands and/
or while standing in water.
9. Never immerse all or parts of the unit in water or any other liquid.
10. The cable of the unit must not be shortened and/or directly connected without a plug. If the
cable is damaged, the entire unit must be handed over to authorised/recognised technicians.
Devices with cut/shortened cables are not covered by the warranty.
11. When the device is switched off, the light source will stay warm for at least ten minutes. Before
replacing a light source, check that it has cooled down sufficiently to prevent burns.
12. Use of the unit other than for its intended or developed purpose is not permitted. Using the
appliance other than for the purpose for which it was developed by the manufacturer may lead
to unsafe situations.
13. This device may only be operated in accordance with the guidelines described in this manual. In
addition, you must adhere to the instructions attached to the appliance.
14. Always wear protective gloves when handling or replacing the light source. This is to avoid
fingerprints on the glass.
15. Radiation from this UV lamp is dangerous for the eyes and skin. All persons involved must be
informed of the specific dangers associated with this UV-C system.
