Starting your washer

Before starting

your washer:

1. Measure and add detergent.

2. Place sorted load in washer.

3. Start washer.

Turnthe knob to point to a setting that

describes the size of the load you want

to wash.

The water level can be set for EXSMALL

(a few items), MEDIUM or LARGE(a full

load).

Each cycle has preset wash and rinse

water temperatures. (See pages 6 & 7

for more information.)

All rinses are cold.

Recommended wash temperatures can

be found in your “Laundry Guide:’

For best cleaning results, the

load must be able to move freely in

the water. Too big a load or too

little water can cause wear or tear-

ing of load items.

Start the washer

Pushin the Timer Knob and turn it to the

right. It must be pushed in and turned

only clockwise.

After starting the washer, it will fill to the

level you set with wash water of the

preset temperature. After finishing the

entire cycle, the Timer Knob will move

into the OFFarea.

For REGULARand PERM’TPRESScycles,

turn the Timer Knob to the STARTline.

Forthe KNITSGENTLEcycle, turn the

Timer Knob to the * .

Start the washer by pulling out the Timer

Knob.

Tostop the washer at any time, push in

the Timer Knob. Torestart the washer,

pull out the Timer Knob.

What happens in each cycle

Each cycle has been designed for different kinds of fabrics.

When a Cycle Selector Button is pushed and the Timer Control Knob pulled out, the

washer fills before agitation and timing starts. After agitation starts, the Timer Knob turns

clockwise until it points to OFFand the cycle ends.

REGULAR Cycles

REGULAR [HOT WASH]

A cycle with a hot water

wash and cold water rinse

for sturdily constructed fab-

rics that are heavily soiled.

REGULAR [COLD WASH]

A cycle with a cold water

wash and rinse for sturdily

constructed items that are

lightly soiled.

PERMANENT PRESS Cycle

A cycle with a warm water

wash and cold water rinse.

Thiscycle has cool

down

rinse which helps keep

wrinkles from setting into

permanent press and some

synthetic fabrics.

REGULAR (WARM WASH]

A cycle with a warm water

wash and cold water rinse

for sturdily constructed

fabrics that are moderately

soiled.

able knits.

NOTE:You may hear the sound of water spraying during the spin parts of some cycles.

and rinse water. If your washer drains into a tub, remove any lint collected in the drain or

strainer.

Caring for your washer

WHEN NOT WASHING, keep both water

faucets turned off. Thistakes the pressure

off the water inlet valve and hoses.

AFTERWASHING, use a soft dry cloth to

wipe the outside and inside dry. Leave

the lid up until the basket isdry.

Wipe up

spills right away.

Spills can dull or

damage the finish.

REMOVESHARP OBJECTSsuch as

pins, buckles, etc., from clothes before

washing. Close metal zippers.

SHARP OR HEAVYOBJECTS should never

be put on or in the washer. Check pockets

for bolts, nuts,tools, etc.

SOME PRETREATMENTPRODUCTS can

damage washer and dryer dials, con-

soles and finishes. Do not use these prod-

ucts on or near your washer or dryer.

Winterizing

Because some wafer stays in the washer,

freezing can cause a lot of damage. Ifyour

washer is

stored or moved

during the cold

weather...

to mix the antifreeze

and water.

plete cycle with

one cup of deter-

gent to clean out

the antifreeze.
