Introduction
Read the instructions before use and keep them safe. If you pass the product
on, pass on the intructions too. Remove all packaging, but keep it till you’re
satisfied the product is working.
Important safeguards
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed,
including the following:
1. This appliance should be used by, or under the direct supervision of, a
responsible adult.
2. Do not put the appliance in liquid; do not use it in the bathroom,
near water, or outside.
3. Unplug the appliance when it is not in use, and before moving or cleaning it.
4. Do not put fingers, pencils or any other object through the protectors.
5. To avoid possible danger, do not allow children touch the product.
6. Put the base of the fan on a stable surface. Do not place it on a soft or
unstable surface like a bed or upholstery.

7. Place the cable in such a way that it does not hang down, for someone to
trip over or get entangled in.
8. Do not place the appliance near an open window, to avoid the possibility
that rain could cause an electrical fault.
9. Keep the appliance and cable away from fires and heaters.
10. The appliance should not be used with an external timer or remote control
system.
11. Do not use the appliance for any purpose other than described in the
instructions.
12. Do not try to make the fan oscillate manually. Turn it on and use the
oscillation button or you will break it.
13. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged or not working correctly.
14. If the cable is damaged, it should be changed by the manufacturer, its
service agent or another qualified person – to avoid danger.
For household use only
Mount the base
1. If you turn the column and the motor unit upside down, you will see four
long screws on the bottom of the column.
2. Unscrew the screws and the washers around them.
3. Turn the base downwards.
4. Line up the 4 holes in the base with the 4 holes in the lower part of the
column.
5. Fit a screw with a spring washer, then a flat washer and then push the screw
through the base into the column.
6. Tighten the screw slightly – just enough to keep the base and the column
together.
7. Fit the other three screws, spring washers and flat washers in the same way.
8. Tighten the four screws.
9. Turn the base, the column and the motor unit to the right direction,
and rest all of it on the base.
Fit the fan
10. Unscrew the clamp from around the shaft.
11. Hold the rear protector with the handle at the top and push it against the
motor unit in such a way that the shaft stops in the centre of the protector
and the blades which stick out from the front part of the motor unit go
through the holes in the centre of the protector to keep it straight.
12. Turn the clamp in the motor unit to hold the rear protector in place against
the front part of the motor unit.
13. There is a piece of plastic inside the shaft to protect it. Pull this out of the
shaft.
14. Loosen the screw in the centre of the fan blade.
15. Push the fan blade into the shaft until the screw reaches the flat part of the
shaft.
16. Tighten the screw in the centre of the fan blade until the final part of the
screw tightens against the flat part of the shaft.

17. The plastic strip which covers the outside edge of the rear protector has
two slits in its circumference.
18. Loosen the screw at the bottom of the plastic strip and move it carefully by
the rear protector in such a way that the edge of the rear protector fills the
rear part of the two slits.
19. Line up the front protector with the rear protector and carefully move the
front part of the plastic strip onto the front protector in such a way that the
side of the front protector fills the front part of the two slits in the plastic
strip.
20. Check that the plastic strip is correctly fitted the whole way around its
circumference.
21. Tighten the screw in the lower part of the plastic strip.
22. Sit down, make a cup of tea and have a nice cake – you deserve a rest!
Preparation
23. Place the base of the fan on a stable surface. Do not place it on a soft or
unstable surface like a bed or upholstery.
24. Place it where it cannot be knocked by anyone.
25. Keep the appliance away from open windows to avoid the possibility that
rain could cause an electrical fault.
26. Arrange the cable in such a way that it does not overhang and cause
anyone to trip over it or become entangled.
Inclination (up/down)
27. The fan has three inclination positions, down, straight or up.
28. Take hold of the handle on the upper part of the rear protector and push it
up or pull it down.
29. The friction created at the top of the column will hold it in the position you
choose.
Turning on
30. Check that the speed control is set to 0.
31. Plug the appliance into the socket.
32. Turn the speed control to the level you require. I = low, II = medium, III =
high.
33. Turn it to 0 to turn off.
Oscillation (right/left)
34. Do not try to use the oscillation button if the fan is not turned on and
operating.
35. Press the oscillation button until to make it oscillate, and lift it to to
stop it oscillating.
36. As the fan moves from side to side, the oscillation button also moves. This
is normal, don’t worry.
37. If you want the fan to point in a specific direction, lift the oscillation button
when it is pointing in the direction you want.
38. Do not try to turn the fan manually or you will break it.

Care and maintenance
1. Turn it off (0) and unplug it before cleaning.
2. Clean the external surfaces with a damp surface.
3. Use a brush to clean the dust from the protectors.
4. To clean the fan blade, release the screw in the lower part of the plastic
strip, and gently move the front protector away from the plastic strip.
5. When you have cleaned the fan blade, check that the screw in the centre of
the blade is secure.
6. Put the front protector back on the plastic strip (see page 5) and tighten the
screw on the lower part.
7. Do not put the motor unit in water or in any other liquid.
8. Do not allow humidity to enter the motor unit through the oscillation
button or the ventilation of the motor unit.
9. Do not use abrasive cleaning substances or solvents.

The appliance isn’t user–serviceable. If it’s not working properly, check:
1.You’ve followed the instructions correctly.
2.The main supply fuse/circuit breaker hasn’t blown/tripped.
