These instructions detail how to install a SmartRG SR505n DSL modem and router with Weave's
network. Please contact Weave Support at any point in time, if the instructions do not make
sense or you are not getting the same results as the pictures.
Please note, you may have received your modem but your internet will not work until Weave
Networks has correctly connected you to the network. Please make sure you have received an
email or a call from a Weave staff member saying your internet is now connected before
attempting the below.
Step 1
Unbox the SmartRG SR505n modem (or if you have your own modem). It should look like the
picture above.

Step 2
Take the phone cable, it should look like the
cable pictured.
Step 3
Plug one end of the phone cable into the wall socket.
You will find these normally in your living room or
bedrooms where a home phone can be connected.
Step 4
Plug the other end of the phone cable into the back
of the modem. Make sure it is pushed in.

Step 5
Power on the modem. You can achieve this
by connecting the power into the modem
and then connect it to a wall power socket.
Step 6
Make sure the power switch is on.

Step 7
Wait up to 5 minutes, then the lights on the modem should now show the following:
Power
Solid Green
LAN 1 - 4
Black (Not on)
WLAN
Black (Not on)
WPS
Black (Not on)
USB
Black (Not on)
DSL
Solid Green
Internet
Solid Green
If the lights do not show the following after 10 minutes, please continue in Step 8.
If the lights do show the following after 10 minutes, then please try and connect to the wireless.
Your internet should now be functioning correctly. If you need to connect a device to the
modem directly (via the cable), instructions are in Step 8.
Step 8
You should now able to connect your
computer to one of the yellow ports on the
back of your modem and have internet access
to your computer.

Step 9
On the computer that is physically connected to the modem (from Step 8).
Enter http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar at in your web browser. Click on Manage Gateway
(advanced) and login with username: admin and password: admin

Step 10
Click on the Advanced Setup menu, then on the WAN Service sub-menu. Select
the Remove checkbox on the ppp0.1 interface listed on WAN Service Setup table and
click Remove at the bottom of the page.
Step 11
Under the Advanced Setup menu, click on the Layer2 Interface and then PTM Interface. Select
the Remove checkbox on the ptm0 interface and click Remove.
Step 12
Still on the DSL PTM Interface Configuration Page, Click Add and proceed.

Step 13.
On the PTM Configuration page, select the following:
●DSL Latency: Select both
●Path0(fast)
●Path1(interleaved)
●Apply/Save
Step 14.
Back on the WAN Service page, click on Add to proceed.

Step 15.
On the WAN Service Interface Configuration page, select ptm0/(4_1_1) from the drop-down
menu and click Next.

Step 16.
On the WAN Service Configuration page, ensure the following:
●PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) is the active WAN service type chosen,
●Ensure Service Description shows as pppoe_4_1_1,
●802.1P Priority is set to -1
●802.1Q VLAN ID is set to -1
●Network Protocol Selection is set to IPv4, and click Next

Step 17.
On the PPP Username and Password page, enter your DSL username (format
[email protected]) and your DSL password into the PPP Username and PPP Password
