MX-5000
Network Wand
WiFi Color Touch Screen with Hapc Feedback
The MX-5000 is the master of IP (Internet Protocol)
over your home network. Via a comprehensive 2-way
database of the most popular IP controlled Audio Video
Receivers from B&K, Denon, Integra and Yamaha, your
MX-5000 can display the current status and browse the
media opons of networked Audio Video receiver.
In operaon, it’s incredible. Now, you can see the actual
volume seng no maer what you are listening to or
whether the TV is on or o. No more peering into the
equipment rack just to “make sure” the volume isn’t set
too high!
Whenever you touch the Volume Up, Down or Mute but-
tons on the MX-5000, a pop up display, connected real
me with your AVR, displays the current volume as you
adjust it. Once you’ve stopped adjusng volume, the pop-
up display conveniently disappears!

MX-5000 - Two Way Wand!
Form Follows Funcon...
Hapc (Touch) Feedback
The MX-5000 revoluonizes touch
screen operaon for all me! It’s the
rst remote control ulizing hapc tech-
nology, which conrms buon presses
with a click you feel.
Personal Browsing
The MX-5000 is a 2-way wand-style touch screen
color remote that provides network control of
many popular IP-based components. In addi-
on to its stunning design it oers a fully cus-
tomizable GUI on a large color screen that
sends vibrang “hapc” feedback conrm-
ing each buon selecon.
The MRX-1 is a true bridge between the network and IR,
RS-232 and relay-controlled devices. In addion, it pro-
vides 2-way status and feedback via RS-232 and a volt-
age/video sensor to network keypads and remotes.
The MRX-1 serves as a “converter” to RS-232 controlled
devices, enabling your MX-5000 to communicate over
the network to an equipment rack located anywhere in
your house. Since the conversion is both ways, your RS-
232 device can be both controlled and can update your
MX-5000 with the current status, and display volume pop
ups, tuner interfaces and lists of AVR radio presets etc. all
on the screen of the MX-5000.
In addion, the MRX-1 provides the MX-5000 with control
over relay and IR controlled devices.
2-Way RS-232 via MRX-1 Network Base Station
Engineered
to delight both the
eye and the hand
The MX-5000’s bright, vivid color
touch screen is mounted in a remote
control where every surface, every con-
tour, and every buon has been designed to
feel “right.” Since WiFi 2-way delivers so much
more fun, you’ll need twice the baery life of
other products and the MX-5000 delivers it invis-
ibly, without excess weight or bulk. The weight is
perfectly posioned to balance in your hand. Con-
tours are shaped and molded into the back so that
your hand can nd the perfect posion. The enre rear
is covered with a so texture that feels perfect against
your palm.
Each MRX-1 controls two 2-Way RS-232 Devices, one relay and up to six IR devices.
Experience the Networked Home Theater, all in one hand!
Browse cover art, arst, album and tles from
your iPod via the PSX-2 or a PC on your network
The revoluonary wand MX-5000 brings the power of WiFi
networking to the home theater, without compromising simplic-
ity. The high speed of the built-in 802.11 B/G WiFi transceiver
enables the MX-5000 to display lists of arsts, albums or songs
and to display the cover art of the selected album on the Now
Playing screen of the remote control from the PSX-2 Personal
Server.
The MX-5000 oers two independent communicaons and
control methods simultaneously. It provides both a narrow band
418 MHz transmier for instant control of convenonal home
theater components and a WiFi transceiver for high speed
transfer of cover art, arst, album and tle metadata.
The high speed of the built-in 802.11 B/G WiFi transceiv-
er enables the MX-5000 to display lists of arsts, albums
or songs and to display the cover art of the selected
album on the Now Playing screen of the remote control.
Internet Connecon Provides Real Time News, Sports, Weather and Stocks
When the MX-5000 is connected to the Internet, pre-programmed modules enable instant access to
personalized news, sports, weather and stocks.
Unlike other devices, the MX-5000’s news, sports, weather and stocks modules are user-congurable
without a programmer or a PC. On a whim, you can check out the opposing team’s scores, or get the
weather forecast for a vacaon desnaon.

Real Time Volume Display on the MX-5000 Screen
Whenever you adjust the volume or press the Mute buon, the MX-
5000 pops up a dynamic link to your IP controlled Audio Video receiv-
er (the URC 2-Way database includes popular IP controlled products
from Denon, Yamaha, Integra and B&K) and displays a bar graph on
the screen of the MX-5000. If you need to adjust the sound before
the movie starts, you can check the actual seng in real me, by sim-
ply touching one of the Volume buons.
2-Way Display and Control of AM,
FM, XM, and Sirius Radio
Browse the radio staons available to your
IP controlled home theater receiver on the
screen of the MX-5000 (the URC 2-Way da-
tabase includes popular IP controlled Audio
Video Recievers from Denon, Yamaha, Integra
and B & K).
Nave URC Lighng Control —
Touch the Screen to Set a New
Scene!
At last, you can fully control the lighng
in your home without expensive black
boxes and exoc wiring. A lighng sys-
tem can be as simple as a single URC RF
lamp dimmer on a lamp that you’d love
to control without geng out of your
chair.
The MX-5000 directly controls lights connected to URC RF Dimmers
and Switches. You can brighten, dim, and recall scenes, and you can
store new scenes whenever you like, without a PC or a programmer.
Simply manually adjust each dimmer to the new seng, then press
and hold the scene buon on your MX-5000 (just like storing radio
staons in your car).
PSX-2: Personal Audio Video
Server for the MX-5000
Advanced Personal A/V Server: PSX-2
CE Pro editor Julie Jacobson called it “the best product of CES 2009.”
The PSX-2 turns any iPod into an advanced A/V server with onscreen
GUI. It provides 2-way on-TV content browsing and selecon with
cover art plus hundreds of discrete IR commands that enable “one
touch to music” programming. It also oers on-remote GUI when
installed with URC’s award winning MX-6000, MX-5000 or KP-4000
keypad.
Shortcuts to Any Content Instantly Without Menus
The “Shortcuts” buon makes navigang from videos to musical genres a
simple process. Example: Touch the “Arsts” buon on the shortcuts screen
to jump directly to the Arsts menu.
Unlike other iPod docks or tradional music servers, you are not forced to
constantly navigate up, down, le and right through a maze of menus to ac-
cess new audio video content.
Explore Your Content:
Shue Exactly What You Feel Like Listening To
With other music servers, shue is a frustrang mix of too many kinds of mu-
sic. With the PSX-2, shue becomes a powerful tool for listening and explor-
ing your music collecon. Imagine shuing just your jazz, or just the songs of
a parcular arst. You can shue play any genre, any arst or any album at
any me by simply accessing the MX-5000’s shue screen.
Play More From
Imagine exploring all the hard rock albums of your youth with Shue Genres.
When you hear a song you love, instead of having to browse through the
hundreds of arsts in your collecon, you simply touch the ”Play More From”
buon. By then selecng the “More from this Arst” buon, all the songs
from the current Arst will be played in sequenal order.

The MX-5000 can control all the PCs connected
to your system as long as each is accessible via
your home local area network.
PC Server for MX-5000

Converts any PC with iTunes or Windows Media
Player into a Powerful Music Server with an Intui-
ve, Friendly User Interface
Instead of purchasing an expensive “Media PC” or dedicated mu-
sic server, any PC with iTunes and/or Windows Media Player can
be connected to your audio system to act as a high powered mu-
sic server with the most engaging, intuive user interface you’ve
ever seen.
Up to now, the complexity of having to deal with a keyboard and
a mouse in your listening room has made this an uncomfortable
choice.
You know the frustrang feeling—some of your music was down-
loaded via iTunes and some of your music via Windows Media
Player, you’ve had to keep separate libraries. Finding the music
you paid for was dicult.
MX-5000 Server is a soware applicaon that, once installed on
a PC, combines your iTunes library with your Media Player library.
The MX-5000 ulizes its network connecon via WiFi to communi-
cate with the server soware on the PC. Since all communicaon
happens at WiFi “G” speeds, there are no lags or delays displaying
the informaon or lists on the screen of the MX-5000.
All your cover art, arst, album and song tle metadata appear on
the screen of the MX-5000. Lists are navigated via the integrated
Up and Down buons on the remote without ever connecng a
keyboard or mouse to the PC.
You build a “queue” of whatever music in on your PC and shue
or sequenally play it, just as you like. At last, you have access to
all the music you’ve paid for... all the music you want without the
hassles... the music simply plays...
Narrow Band ensures that broadband RFI (Radio Fre-
quency Interference) will be ignored. However, RFI can
also be site specic and centered
on a parcular band. For this
reason, the MX-5000 can be speci-
ed in either the standard 418MHz
version or the MX-5000i 433MHz
Narrow Band version.
Ensure reliability with
the Narrow
Band RFX-250 or RFX-
250i (433MHz).
The RFX-250 is in-
cluded with both the
MRF-350 Roung
Base Staon and the MSC-400 Master System Controller
(specify “i” series for 433 MHz versions).

No Rules, Instant Control of
Standard AV Components
Unlike other WiFi remote controls, the MX-5000 uses a second RF
(Radio Frequency) transmier to control convenonal gear instantly,
without the frustrang delay of waing for the remote control to
“join the network” when you simply want to turn the system on.
This provides you with instant “no rules control” of AV receivers, at
screen TVs, projectors, cable and satellite receivers, DVD players and
changers.
The MX-5000 is compable with the ultra-reliable MSC-
400 “Trigger” protocol, which enables complex macros,
stored in the MSC-400, to be individually triggered with
a single buon push on the MX-5000 regardless of the
interference and noise in the environment.
The combinaon of very narrow transmission of digitally
encoded packets sent THREE mes at digital speeds in
milliseconds assures that every buon press on the
remote will be received by the MSC-400. The MSC-400’s
sophiscated error correcon circuitry stores all three
packets and compares them. Once two packets are iden-
ed as idencal, the MSC-400 goes to work.
This new technology not only increases range, but in-
creases reliability by a vast margin.
MSC-400 Compatibility
MX-5000 is compable with the MSC-400 Master System Controller
Automac Backlighng
The integral moon sensor detects any movement of the touch screen and automacally backlights
the screen. The user does not have to press any buon to display the screen. Any movement of the
MX-5000 renews the backlighng. Without movement, the touch screen stays lit for 1 to 99 seconds
(programmed by the installer).
Not Just Color, Animated Color!
Powered by a 533MHz ARM9 microprocessor, the MX-5000 is designed for animaon. The powerful
central processor enables quick, uid page transions and animated macros.

Double Capacity Lithium Ion Baeries and
Charging Base
The demands of WiFi and high speed transfers coupled with a
large color touch screen raise the demand for power to a new
high. The MX-5000 is equipped with a unique double capacity
Lithium Ion baery, providing over 4 hours of connuous use
before recharging is necessary. Should the MX-5000 be le
on a table, it will remain in standby mode for 9 days without
requiring a recharge.
The aracve charging base oers an ideal angle to use while
charging, so may be placed on or near your chair. In addion,
the MX-5000 oers a power input at the base of the remote,
so that it can be hand held while charging directly from the
power adapter.
