2. Using Your Lock
Step 1. Touch the lock with the back of your hand or fingers to activate the lock.
Step 2. Enter the 4-8 digit code and press the Button to unlock.
Step 3. Rotate the handle to open the door.

Use a microfiber cloth and wipe across the fingerprint reader surface and the
touchscreen.

· When you activate the lock and see the message “Low battery”, you should replace the batteries.
· Use 3 high-quality alkaline AA batteries for replacement.
· Please don’t use any rechargeable batteries.
Note: Lithium batteries may have a longer life, but when they begin to run outof battery, they drain
fast. U-tec doesn’t recommend them, as you will not have enought time to change them before
the lock becomes non-functional.
2.5 Replace the battery
Use your smartphone to unlock. Please refer to the guide in the U-tec App.
Note: All data will be erased if you reset the UL3 to factory default settings.
Step 1. Remove the Battery Cover.
Step 2. Use the Reset Needle and press the Reset Button for 3 seconds until you hear
one long beep and two short beeps. The message display will show No User
Step 3. If the UL3 is paired with the U-tec App, you must tap "Delete" from the Advanced
tab in the Settings section of the lock.

· Emergency Key Override can be used when the battery is dead, or when no valid User Code is
known.
· The key hole is on the bottom of the exterior assembly of the lock, insert the key and rotate it
to unlock, just like any lock.
· Please take good care of your emergency keys.
2.6 Emergency Key Override
Ultraloq UL3 Series supports up to 16-digit Vague Code.Just enter any 16-digit code, as long as
a correct codeis included inwhat you entered, you canopen the door.
2.7 Vague Code
1. Your finger should cover the Reader completely with some pressure, touching the
whole reading area.
2. Make sure that your finger and the Fingerprint Reader are clean and dry, please note
that wet, oily, injured, peeled or dirty fingers may affect the fingerprint identification.
3. To clean the Fingerprint Reader, use a clean microfiber cloth to wipe off any dirt or debris.
4. While scanning your finger, you shouldn't tap too quickly or move your finger around.
5. In case of low recognition rate, please delete the original registered fingerprint and register
it again.

Vague Code Method

User ID is used to distinguish different users. It’s different from the Code. The User ID can be 1 to
8 numbers long. You can edit user’s fingerprint and code through User ID.
3.3 User ID
Factory Default Settings means that any fingerprint or code can unlock the UL3. The message
display shows “No User”.

2.9 Lock Status
Normal Mode
It’s the default mode, user must use the code, App access verification or scan the fingerprint
to unlock the UL3 from the outside.
Passage Mode
The UL3 will stay unlocked for convenient free passage.
Lockout Mode
The UL3 can only be operated manually by the backup Key. All electrical features are turned
off and only an Admin can disable it.
3. Basic Introduction
· The Owner is the person who owns the UL3 and registers it in U-tec App originally, the Owner
has all the privileges.
· The Admin can always unlock via fingerprint, code or App. Admin can add or delete other
Admins and Users, control all lock settings and view logs.
· The Normal User can always unlock via fingerprint, code or App.
· The Temporary User has limited access within a specific time range.

4. Lock Setup
Scan the QR Code to download the U-tec App
Scan the above QR code to download the App, or search “U-tec”in App Store (iOS) and
Google Play (Android).
Open the App, register your U-tec account and log in the account.
Make sure the lock is in Factory Default Mode. Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone,
stay near the lock (within 10 feet / 3 meters) and search the lock in the App.
Pair the lock in the App and start using it.
Note: Please refer to the guide in the U-tec App for more information.

5. Lock Programming by Touchscreen
Creating the Owner must be the first step prior to any other programming. Only one
Owner is available.
5.1 Create an Owner

any information later.
5.2 Add a Normal User
Activate the Lock, press and hold for 3 sec
