OPERATION
• Placethemachineonrm,levelgroundwhilstoperatingandplacereceptacleunder-
neaththedischargechuteorattachthecollectionbag.
• Presstheswitchmarked“I”tostartand“0”tostopthemotor.Presstheoverloadreset
buttonifthemachinedoesnotwork,ensuringyouhaveconnectedtothepowersupply.
• Allowthemotortorunforafewsecondsbeforecommencingwork.
• Inspectthematerialtobeshreddedbeforestartingandremoveanysharpobjects,
stones,wireetcwhichcoulddamagethecuttingmechanism.
• Themachinewillautomaticallypullthewastematerialin.Donotforcetoomuchmate-
rialinatonceotherwisethechutemayblockup.
• Ifablockageoccursandthebladestopworking,disconnectthemachineandfreeany
jammedmaterial.Ifthebladestallsformorethan5seconds,theoverloadswitchwillcut
inandswitchoffthemachine.Allowthemachinetocoolforatleast1minutebeforeat-
temptingtore-start.Pushtheoverloadswitchrst,thentheOn/Offswitch.
• Thereisaplungerprovidedtoaidthethefeedingofsoftermaterial-donotfeedsoft
kitchenwasteintotheshredder-itisbettertocompostit.
Hints and Tips:
• Usethemachinetoshredthefollowingmaterialsonly-twigsandbranches(maxdia
40mm),pruningtrimmings,hedgetrimmings,plantmaterialandroots(removesoilrst).
• Bealerttolongleafbrancheswhichcanwhipbackastheyarebeingdrawnintothe
shredder.
• Organicmaterialwhichcontainsalargeamountofwaterandsapcansticktothecutting
blades-itisbesttoleaveitforafewdaystodryout.
• Tomakenercomposttheshreddedmaterialcanbepassedthroughasecondtime.
• Keeptheventilationslotsonthebodyfreeofdustanddebris.
• Donotleavetheshredderrunningunattended;disconnecttheplugwhenleavingor
movingthemachine.
Blade Replacement:
• Thebladeshavetwocuttingedges.Whenthebladesbecomeworntheycanbere-
versedtousethesecondcuttingedgebuttheseshouldbechangedbyanauthorised
servicedealer.
• Whenbothedgesofthebladeshavebecomeworntheymustbereplacedas a pair.
Thebladescanbere-sharpenedbutthismustbedonebyaprofessionalusinganoil
stone.Theweightofeachbladeiscriticaltomaintainthebalanceofthecuttingdisc.
Maintenance:
• Duringanymaintenanceworkensurethatthemachineisswitchedoffanddisconnected
fromthemains.
• Ifanextensioncableisuseditmustbeofthesamegradeasthatttedtotheshredder.
Checkthecablesregularlyforsignsofdamageorwear.
• Neverattempttooverridetheoverloadswitch-itisthereforyoursafety.
• Removealldepositedmatterafterusewithabrushandcleanthemachineandallplas-
ticpartswithsoapandadampcloth.
• Donotcleantheshredderwithahosepipeorbyrinsing.Nowatershouldbeallowedto
entertheshredder.
