Operating Instructions MGB 60 - 3 -
1 General Information
These operating instructions contain information for the user. This information is nec-
essary for proper handling of the MGB 60. For further information on the containers,
please see the SULO assembly instructions for the MGB 60 as well as the standards
DIN EN 840-1, 840-5 and 840-6.
For safety reasons the lid must be closed for lifting and subsequent emptying of the
container.
The MGB 60 is not suitable for the collection of hazardous waste like residual var-
nish, paint, medication etc, for which legal transport regulations apply (see GGVS,
GGVE, GGVSee for Germany; ADR-Regulations for Europe).
2 Description of the standard MGB 60
2.1 Main dimensions
Dimensions according to EN 840

Operating Instructions MGB 60 - 4 -
2.2 Nominal volume
The nominal volume of the MGB 60 is 60 l (tolerance: +13 and -5 l).
2.3 Material
The container is made from environmentally friendly HDPE. This material does not
release harmful substances in case of fire and can be recycled easily.
2.4 Permitted total weight
The permitted total weight of the MGB 60 is 50 kg. This equals the sum of its net
weight and maximum load.
The permitted total weight of the container must not be exceeded. Under normal cir-
cumstances, this happens only when the MGB is filled with construction waste, wet
food waste or similar kinds of waste with a high density.
2.5 Lifting devices
The MGB 60 is fitted as standard with a lifting comb form A (according to EN 840-1,
image 2). When emptied with a compatible lifting device, it is ensured that the con-
tainer is automatically and safely locked inside the lifting device during emptying. The
MGB must be checked for possible damage on the lifting device before every empty-
ing. Damaged containers must not be lifted under any circumstances. They have to
be replaced.
For safety reasons the lid must be closed for lifting and subsequent emptying of the
container.
2.6 Permitted fractions of waste
The MGB 60 is suitable for all common types of waste like domestic waste, organic
waste, glass, paper and plastics.
It must not be filled with hot ashes or burning or glowing material.

Operating Instructions MGB 60 - 5 -
2.7 Balance point of the MGB 60
The container is designed and the wheels are arranged in such a way that the bal-
ance point of the container when either empty or filled with the permitted total weight
according to EN 840-5, at an inclination of up to 10°, is always located between the
tilting edge and the axle. Thus the stability according to EN 840-5 is given.
2.8 Handles for pushing and manoeuvring
The container has a bipartite handle for pushing and pulling between the hinges.
2.9 Wheels
The container is fitted as standard with two wheels on one axle as well as a tight-
fitting axle for noise reduction. The wheel diameter is 200 mm. The wheel bearing is
a slide bearing.
2.10 Tractive forces according to EN 840-5
The maximum tractive force of a container filled with the permitted load according to
EN 840-5 is below 300 N. The force required to keep the container moving is below
60 N. The basis for these measured forces is the testing requirements according to
EN 840-5.
2.11 Lid
The MGB 60 is fitted with a lid that is attached to the body with two plastic hinges.
For filling purposes, the lid can be opened and overturned at an angle of 270°.

2.12 Cleaning
The smooth surfaces inside and outside the MGB 60 ensure easy cleaning.
- Cleaning should only be done with customary mild detergents and in
accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
- Cleaning equipment and detergents must not damage the container.
- Detergents, including concentrates dissolved in water, should have a tempera-
ture of below 30°C at the time of use.
- Detergents must not be applied with high pressure or steam blasters.
- Strongly perfumed detergents (e.g. toilet cleaners) and detergents containing
oxidizing acids (e.g. nitric acid) or halogens should not be used due to their
disintegrating effect.
- When using special cleaning equipment like high pressure washers, the manu-
facturers’ safety and operating instructions must be followed.
2.13 Miscellaneous
The MGB 60 fits into housings according to DIN 30736.
For special equipment and accessories, please see the respective assembly instruc-
tions and SULO product information.
